I’m actually commenting on the “A Plus” gas station and mini market, also in Philadelphia at the corner of 22nd & Walnut Sts. I’m a frequent visitor to this store in the late evening/early morning hours. The diligent employees (usually friendly and helpful) are always ensuring that the store is clean, the shelves are well stocked—including the accoutrements at the hot dog bar and coffee station. Speaking of coffee, it is knock-your-socks-off excellent, far better than one would expect. Finally, the “7 Select” line of items offered are unusual, appealing and excellent. Lest anyone wonder, this is a 100% unsolicited and honest review; I have no connection whatsoever to the corporation.

The manager accused me of stealing, even though I was not leaving the store and had money in my hand. I offered to pay for what I was getting and not even take it and he said no. When I tried to leave the store, without what I was going to buy, I was shoved back in the store. The manager called the police while I continued to tell him that I was not stealing and am not a thief. Other people in the store were standing up for me and trying to tell the manager that I was not stealing. The manager persisted, and would not allow me to leave the store.
