Formerly the original "Cookies Tavern", "Tankies Tavern" has new ownership, a new look, and a totally new experience!! The brand new kitchen boasts some of the best Mexican food found in Philadelphia. Totally renovated and ultra modern. Top shelf liquors and amazing beer selection. Stop in for a drink and tacos and take advantage of flat screens throughout for NFL: MNF, TNF, & SNF, as well as MLB: World Series action. This bar throws one of the biggest parties in the city every year on November 10th to honor and celebrate the service men and women of our beloved United States Marine Corp. Absolutely one of my favorite places to be any night of the week on any day of the year!! Good times, great food, & excellent people. Bartenders will remember your name and your drink. You'll always feel right at home at Tankies!!! Can't miss!!

Cool "new" little bar on Oregon, right next to Oregon steaks... huge makeover from what it was with a fresh "hip" vibe. CASH only‼️😉 Also, the Mexican food is 🔥🔥🔥, don't sleep on Tankie's TexMex

Wasn't here long. Just to meet up with some folks. Looks like a nice spot for a bite and a beer. Will visit again if I'm in the area.

Marines come to this hallowed location every year to celebrate the birthday of the Marine Corps. Bag pipes, food, beer, friends, brothers, mentors, leaders, and family. This is the location to visit if you are a Marine. If you have not been here you will never know what it is like to share a brotherhood that literally spans generations across the Corps. Semper Fidelis Marines!

Love to come here and hang with my friends. Cheap drinks, they are open ass-early in the morning and they have a jukebox you can pick songs with your phone. Super bonus is they recently went non-smoking! What's bad about that is you still get these folks who can't let go and they'll go in the bathroom and smoke and then it stinks worse than the smokey bar ever did because the cigarette smoke is concentrated inside that tiny room. No food, but you can walk next door to Oregon Steaks and bring your food back over to eat it.
