Everyone should disregard the 1-Star reviews of this fantastic establishment. I will start by saying that i am the farthest from being vegan/vegetarian. I love bacon and burgers just as much as the next guy. But after seeing so many fantastic reviews of this place from friends and people that are in some of my favorite bands going, I had to check it out. The food, for lack of a better term, is f-ing delicious. So much love and care is put into every plate and cup of coffee. The staff rules just as hard too. So polite, and accommodating, and at the ready to help with any questions or recommendations if I had them. I'll end with saying that I'm a little upset I haven't been able to come back sooner for breakfast!
The food here in unbelievable. Every time I come here I try something new, and I am always blown away by how delicious it is. The staff is incredibly friendly and courteous.
This is the perfect place to bring someone that is skeptical about vegan food "always leaving them hungry" or "vegan food is just salads". The portion sizes are huge and filling!
Nothing but great things to say about this place. I was in town for This Is Hardcore Fest, and made 2 stops to eat at The Tasty. The food was out of this world good. The staff was great, it's a place that I will visit every time I'm in Philly.
We’ve been wanting to try this place for quite a while now and we finally got the opportunity this past weekend. We knew exactly what we wanted when we got there and the food didnt take that long at all. We were expecting it to be good from reading other reviews and looking at photos of the food. We did not know it was going to be as good as it actually was. This place is phenomenal! We left a tip when we paid the bill and put another $10 in the tip jar 😎 Despite it being over an hour trip for us, we’re positive that we will return soon 🤗
Yes I agree with disregarding the 1 star review. This place is awesome. The food is amazing. The portions, service and prices are great! Staff was super friendly! I can’t wait to try the entire menu.
Great food and super nice people. Dan made me a breakfast burrito that was sublime! So happy to have a vegan diner for all the classics like pancakes, waffles, French toast, and home fries. Coffee is amazing too.
Very helpful staff willing to explain how they make the food and what’s in it. They’re making this food from scratch so everything came out amazing. The omelette blew my mind because I had essentially given up on a decent vegan breakfast outside of waffles and tofu scramble. The tempeh bacon was seasoned perfectly. There’s something for everyone here.
The food is really good and lives up to the name The Tasty. The limited hours and the long waits on the weekend are a real pain, so I recommend you arrive before 11:30 to avoid standing outside in the cold for 30+ min. It was worth it though. The donuts were outstanding. The breakfast burrito was amazing. The chicken cheesesteak was so-so, skip it. The tots and chicken nuggets were really yummy and crispy. I would return here and be sure to arrive bright and early. They do have indoor dining but the entrance is not wheelchair accessible (disappointing). Very LGBTQ friendly.
I had high expectations for The Tasty, as it was rated the #1 place for plant-based finds in Philly by VegNews. The blueberry pancakes lived up to the diner's name and were the highlight of my meal. While the chicken cheesesteak was decent, I was disappointed with the Caesar salad; the dressing was too watery. If I go again, I'll try more from the breakfast menu.

Definitely a great place for the vegan community! Hearty and delicious but weird opening hours and small dine in area.
I had to wait about 10 minutes to order takeout & 15 minutes to prepare the meal, but it was absolutely worth it! The most delicious breakfast burrito, home fries, and pumpkin spice latte!

Best vegan breakfast in Philly. The deluxe burrito is a must-have, and the chickn' n waffles are delicious. The donuts weren't my taste - they're more crumbly in texture. But all around great food. Call ahead on weekends, they have a long wait!

Beyond grateful to live within driving distance of The Tasty. The restaurant itself is super adorable, all of the staff members were really friendly and helpful. The prices are very fair for the portions you receive. I got the deluxe burrito and it was delicious & exactly what I needed to start my day! Brown sugar latte was also 10/10. We tried a strawberry donut and it was just the perfect amount of crispy and soft. Looking forward to coming back.
I love the morning menu option- it is such a treat to find somewhere open that early after a long night shift. For years I only ordered the deluxe burrito with home fries because it was THAT good. Recently branched out and have tried their baked goods, coffee, sandwiches, and amazing specials and haven’t met a meal I didn’t like. Plus the staff is always friendly and their hard work during the pandemic doesn’t go unnoticed. So happy to have this gem in my neighborhood!
100% my fav restaurant ever! I live in NYC and love the vegan food here, but I have not found a restaurant that creates food with such perfection (imo)! The menu itself is absolutely ideal, and everything they make is spot on o’clock. The biscuit to gravy ratio alone wins my heart, but then the gravy is also 👌👌😭. They are also super generous with the tater tots. What more could you ask for than a surplus of gravy and potato boys?
The team is also always super lovely and cool, and the restaurant is precious.

Words cannot express how AMAZING this establishment is!! From the greeter of the staff member using my name when answering (caller ID) to helping me decide the best dishes, since we were new to the area- to the curb side delivery, since I had a small child in the car and parking was not available in close proximity. We ate here two days in a row and really hope to make today a third day.
A great local spot for vegans (and all 😉). This place is self-serve, order at counter and seat yourself. Both dishes I ordered exceeded my expectations, and the Tofu Scramble was the best I've had! I'll be back to try the others!
One of my favorite places to go for breakfast (of all time!) Incredibly sweet staff & owner. My go-to is the dirty jersey w/ extra ham, chocolate chip pancakes w/ berries and cream, and an iced oatmilk latte. If you get takeout you should sit at the park across the street, it makes for a very nice morning in south philly. An absolute must if you are vegan and visiting philly for the first time
I absolutely love The Tasty and I recommend everyone go there. In my review I had the special with the Tofu scramble, two drum sticks, and a biscuit with gravy. It's was fantastic and I would have it again.
The staff is always nice and quick, while the inside of the store is always clean is a bit of a community area with I think is nice. You have to put your own dishes away while drinks are serve yourself.
I recommend the buffalo chicken cheese steak, one of my favorites. It's slightly spicy, but so tasty, I like the tots option. The chick Parm sandwich is also really good, which is another favorite of mine.
They do get a little busy and wait times can be long, but I definitely think it's more than worth it and the food is delicious.
Such a wonderful spot! My wife has a lot of food allergies, and the team here is always so friendly and accommodating. This has quickly become our regular breakfast spot
My husband and I ate at The Tasty 10/31/19. We had the kale salad, the buffalo chicken cheezsteak, and the chickpea "tuna" salad sandwich. Loved the food! Portions were very large. Will definitely go back!
