Ok so my 25 yr old foodie-daughter insisted we needed to try it! Happy hour $4 punch within 2 minutes after sitting โ
appetizer from happy hour menu on the table within 5 minutes โ
. Still eating our bait bucket (1/2 priced) and we were served our main courses. Like not even 10 minutes had gone by โ
blackens fish ๐ tacos ๐ฎ WOW! The chicken sandwich oh lord perfectly crisped and full of flavor and the wings with some type of Chilli & a hint of pineapple ๐!!! OMG ! It was a food porn style - type of experience . Not a place for a first date if a girl is going to order a salad! Like really? For that , pick up salad at WAWA... like "Bye ๐๐ผ Felicia!!" Anyway, Great service ! Amazing food! Great prices !!!! Only negative thing to say (although I love sports) is that the ambiance did not match the sports playing on the flat screens. Other than that! Awesome ! Definitely going back!!!!!! ๐๐ผ๐ฏ
I found the food and service to be excellent. I love raw oysters and their offering was fresh and tasty. If you go I recommend sitting outside.
~Just moved to the area & The Bait & Switch seems to be the top nightlife establishment in walking distance regarding new decor, drink selection, square footage, & food variety.
First impressions: upon entering there is a round-a-bout bar leading into an indoor dining area, & then even an refreshing outdoor patio with tables. This reminded me of restaurants I would go to after a long day of hauling in fish after a booze cruise. The staff was very friendly & informative. The fact that karaoke was being started up made the atmosphere even more enjoyable.
I ordered the black pearl drink (their take on an old fashion) it was well put together, & made me want a blue moon to play off the caramel orange flavor. I also put in a fish taco order to go, because I was feeling the late night munchies. It was constructed with quality ingredients; although the fish in the top taco picture was only the size of my finger, & the other ingredients over powered what should be the star of the dish.
The don approves of this establishment & will be back~
Nice place to sit and eat, the outdoor patio was breezy but comfortable. My favorite thing we ordered was the cheesy grits and clam chowder. The fried fish was a little plain. Would definitely come back during happy hour or other special.
Omg love this place. Bait bucket is tooo good. The angry muscles and and the spicy crab dip yummy. The scallops omg. Who told these people they could create this wonderful place. I been thinking about this place all week. The drinks are good and the service is great. They have local items from wine to beer to food. ThaT pecan tart is heaven in a pie dish.makes me sad that i moved from thw the neighborhood
Great place! Had the salmon and grains and my buddy had the fish and chips and both were delicious. Great and friendly staff. Even during the bartenders dinner break she jumped right up and made sure everyone was taken care of, when your drink was empty or you were ready for the check, with a smile. Classy. Can't wait to eat there again.
Great seafood bar. Their happy hour is top notch. Especially since it includes dollar oysters. Their beer menu is great and again especially great for happy hour. This has become one of my go to spots in the neighborhood. The size and atmosphere is great.
WOW! That's not a word I use very frequently when describing a place to eat. I've been here three times now and each time, I've been completely delighted with whatever I ordered. The cheesy shrimp and grits are OUTSTANDING - and this is coming from someone who spent part of her childhood living in the south. I also love that they put their own Polish spin on it by adding kielbasa!
The drink selection is also impressive for an establishment of their size and the happy hour is busy but not overwhelming.
It's a nice small place, good atmosphere, well themed decor. The menu, while it looks expensive, is actually well priced for good quality seafood. They have events lined up throughout the week including Saturday night Karaoke which has become a regular for my girlfriend and I. I'd recommend this place for if you want a nice evening out without too much of a big bar scene.
Always fantastic-- great food, welcoming and friendly service. Our neighborhood fave!
Finally stopped in and was not disappointed. Cute decor, nice open feel to the dining area. I like that the bar area and dining area are separate here, they also have an adorable outdoor "patio" space for laid back hangs.
Food was good. We tried the shrimp and grits, fish and chips, and, of course, hush puppies! OMG hush puppies! 10 yr old me is super psyched.
The hush puppies def need a little of the sauce they come with. Dense, slightly to the left of moist, which is where the sauce fills in nicely, but great flavor.
At first glance, the shrimp & grits looks like it wouldn't be enough, but once you start tucking in to this creamy delight, you'll be glad they only give you this much because you won't want to so eating it. SO GOOD!
The fish & chips is served no-frills on a platter. A BIG platter. This, is a lot of food. Undo that top jeans button, you're gonna need the room!
The ONLY distraction is I found the music a little too loud. Not that that stopped the woman at the table next to us from getting up and stomp dancing her way to the bar every time she approved of a song. Hilarious, and oh so Port Richmond.
Best seafood bar in the Philly area. Great staff, exceptional food, and very cool atmosphere.
If you want seafood with a comfort kick to it, a good bar, and a fun vibe, look no further. I can't recommend this place enough.
Try the shrimp and grits.
