Five stars for existing, but - 1 star for focusing on so much fried food. I mean, my favorite things here are fried, but it would be nice to have more vegetable dishes to balance them out. Especially when eating in large groups, variety is good. Honestly, it's not the most amazing Chinese food I've had, but I've never had anything here I didn't like. My understanding is that the restaurant is closing down, and that's really too bad. :-(

Vegan and vegetarian Chinese-American food! So good! The menu and is huge and so are the portions. You can easily make 2-3 meals out of one order. Dinner specials are amazing with main entree, soup, spring roll, rice and dessert. Definitely recommend!

I have frequented this restaurant many times each year since 2014 and I'm always impressed and satisfied with the quality and taste of the food. Food is always served promptly, fresh, and hot. The mock meat is very impressive. As a meat eater, I love coming here for a break from meat and dairy. The food is a amazing option for vegans and vegetarians. The lunch specials are a great deal because you get a main course with a nice hot & sour or dumpling soup or vegetable pancake.

Our absolute favorite place to eat in Philadelphia. Not only is it fun to walk through Chinatown to get to this restaurant, but everything here is vegetarian. It’s delicious and the service is always fast. The dim sum is a must!

I love this place. I've been coming here for the past three years and I still love the food. The vegetarian choices here (everything) are expansive. You can get anything that you would think to order at a non-vegetarian Chinese restaurant. The food is prepared perfectly, the sauces are all excellent, and the vegtables are always fresh and never overcooked. Even if you're not vegan or vegetarian, but are open to trying new things, this place is good. They have some unique chef's specials and if you like bread (and who doesn't?) the "beef" buns are one of my favorite all time snacks.

They have a pretty good lunch special for around $8-$9. I chose the sesame chicken that came with an appetizer - choice of soup or spring roll or vegetable pancake. The meal was delicious and the service prompt. There is plenty of seating. The place does look a bit tired and is in need of an update, however this is one of two restaurants in center City serving Chinese vegetarian. There is a $10 credit card minimum with a $0.25 surcharge for payments below $10.

This restaurant is just lovely. I have been to New Harmony maybe 15 times, with groups ranging from 1 other person to a party of 6. The staff has always been friendly and accommodating (a server once lent my roommate his phone charger.) The food is good, inexpensive, and comes in large portions. Not to mention everything on the menu is vegan (&kosher). My favorite menu item is the "Sizzling beef in black bean sauce" although as an omnivore I have to say it tastes nothing like beef, but it is delicious.

2018 update: table service got much better!!! Thanks. Great for vegetarians and vegans. No compromise on the taste. Ambience is okay. Table service can be improved. Awesome sesame balls. Great dumplings. Great fried rice. Must have their signature bun. Loved the place. Will be back soon.

If you are living the vegan life in Philly (or passing through) you GOTTA get here as soon as the grocery planning allows. This is no-frills delight coming at you with pages of menu items to choose from. Everything we ate (pork buns, chicken ginseng soup, sesame chicken, Buddha’s delight pan fried noodles) was tasty, fresh, and piping hot. What a treat!
