First time here and I will be back! Richard was our server and he literally was the best server I ever had at any restaurant. The ambience is very pleasing, the food was amazing, and the main reason for this review is for the EXCELLENT service. Very attentive, present, and kind.

The BEST sushi experience we have ever had. Every app, sushi piece, and sushi roll was fresh and full of flavor. We had the west coast oysters…absolutely delicious the way they come prepared! Also ordered the Big Tuna and each piece of sushi was the best piece I’ve ever tasted. We also had the Peppered Tuna roll (the wasabi aioli was amazing), the Love roll and the Liberty roll, again both were just out of this world fresh and delicious! The atmosphere is also extremely stunning and the music they played was great. The service was top tier and very attentive to when our drinks were running low. Lastly, we usually skip dessert but we’re so glad we didn’t this time because the Ube cheesecake was out of this world!!!! We already cannot wait to come back for date nights, birthdays, anniversaries, etc.

Located on the historic Race Street, Tuna Bar is a gem for those seeking a top-tier sushi experience in Philadelphia. From the moment you step in, the ambiance radiates an upscale charm, setting the stage for a memorable culinary journey.
The cocktails are a revelation – each sip carrying a burst of freshness and nuanced flavors that captivate the senses. But the real stars of the show are the sushi and cooked food. The sushi rolls, with their delicate balance of taste and texture, are an ode to traditional Japanese craftsmanship, while the cooked dishes stand out for their depth of flavor and impeccable presentation.
While the menu boasts a wide array of choices, each dish is a testament to the meticulous attention to detail and passion for quality that Tuna Bar prides itself on. This attention to excellence, coupled with reasonable pricing, has rightfully earned Tuna Bar a spot on my list of the best sushi locales in Philly.
Pricing was reasonable given the premium quality, with the final bill coming to a modest $133. The intricate flavors and artful presentation of each dish solidified Tuna Bar's spot on my list of best sushi places in Philly. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone seeking an authentic and upscale sushi experience in the heart of the city.

This restaurant fabulous and the inside the decor is very good for pictures. The sushi is an amazing I recommend the liberty and there’s salmon salad is uncooked, but I had got mines grilled and they’re caught so drinks are very good. This is afabulous and the inside the decor is very good for pictures. This is a good happy hour response, and a good sushi restaurant to visit.

Chef Ken has a gem of a restaurant here at Tuna Bar. Some of the best sushi you’ll find in Philly, and a creative menu with some fun non-sushi options. The ambiance is truly beautiful, modern, great lighting - with many different seating options and each section has its own unique feel. The outdoor sidewalk dining is a nice setup too in warmer months. We love coming here for dinner, happy hour, or snacks at the bar. One of the best additions to Old City’s restaurant scene in years. Highly recommended!

The dumplings, Fried rice & mochi were amazing the sushi was good but nothing spectacular. I would come back for more apps instead of sushi 1000% the norigrets drink was phenomenal tho!

One of the best sushi places I found in Philadelphia. They have a couple of rolls without any rice, the internal fish is wrapped in thin slices of other fish. Pretty amazing.
The only odd thing was the music playing in the restrooms :-) totally off kilter to the vibe of the restaurant, and way too loud. No hanging out in there.

The Liberty Point sushi was one of the best sushi rolls I’ve had in Philly — my friend and I couldn’t stop raving about it! I’m also not usually a brussel sprouts person, but I actually really liked the brussels sprouts. The drinks were very pretty and strong, and the place looked cute. Overall would definitely return!

Beautiful decor and the two seater gives a cozy warm wood vibe. They have solid drinks.
Yummy GREAT sushi you won't find elsewhere in the area. The sashimi is fatty, soft, and almost melts in your mouth. Recommend to any sushi lovers

Been here a number of times and have never been disappointed once.
Typically I'll get a table, but occasionally I'll sit at the bar- and both the servers and bartenders are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. I haven't once had a bad experience.
Do yourself a favor and order the gyoza immediately as you arrive. It is hands down the best I've had in the city. It's worth noting that while the food is plated beautifully, the taste of everything is even better. Fresh sushi and a huge variety in their menu.
Will continue to keep coming back. This place is an absolute must-visit if you're a fan of Japanese cuisine and great atmosphere.
