I loved the goat curry in this restaurant, this is the first thing I want to mention. Other foods were not great but satisfactory. The day we went, I didn't find many option to choose from but it was enough. The kabab was good but a bit dry to my taste. The biriyani was also satisfactory. It was a huge lunch that day and we mainly came here to taste the goat curry. A lot of people recommend so we came to experience ourselves. The cost was also very affordable so another plus point. The dining area was clean but small. The toilet was very small and very dirty. That was my main gripe, otherwise it was a welcome visit.

They are super accommodating with groups. Walkin is ok. U can def call ahead but not necessary. The buffet is crazy good! Every option is great! Great vegetarian options, not vegan tho. They have a salad side of the buffet too and a chickpea grill! Idk if thats what its called. And unlimited mango juice. They also have a beer menu and a regular menu if you're not doin buffet. Do the buffet.

It is a lovely place, I like coming here for lunch, and sometimes I take out for dinner to serve at home. Some of the food is quite a bit spicy, but as a buffet you have your flexibility of choice. The staff is always nice, it is clean, and they bring fresh water in a glass to your table for convenient refills. Overall, highly recommend!

Sitar India is a buffet style Indian restaurant. Thankfully they havent changed their recipes due to their popularity. The wait staff is generally kind and accommodating and the food is always delicious! I use to come here often on lunch when I worked at Presby.

The spot is very low-key but it has a nice variety of Indian food and desserts you do have friendly service and it is all you can eat the only downside to this place is that there is no parking and you have to pay for street parking

Went here for a quick birthday dinner in the middle of the week. I'm vegan and there were vegan options for me to eat.

For a hearty and affordable authentic Indian lunch, THIS is the place! The buffet style allows you to try delicious dishes you've probably never had. If you like it, you can go back for more! It's a comfortable, casual spot with on-street parking. For almost the same as a fast food meal, you can get a real experience! GO!!!

I love this place! I pretty much always get the makhani chicken (spicy) because it's one of my favorite foods and it's always great. All of the food I've had from here is delicious. It does help to specify how spicy or mild you want your meal to be when making your order.

April 2019: Best affordable Indian buffet in Philadelphia City. I've been eating here since 2003. As a student, this was a no brainier. Lots of vegetarian as well as meet options. Good service. They even do bulk orders for events. They keep improving the ambience. A solid choice if you are hungry or if you are unsure of what to eat. A buffet is your best choice.

Very fine Indian buffet at a most agreeable price. Attentive wait staff remove plates quickly and bring out a wide variety of classic dishes continuously. The interior is comfortable, you can enjoy your meals solo or in conversation with friends at tables covered with tablecloths. The Maitre D. arranged a table for 12 without reservations at dinnertime! There is also a full menu and a good selection of beers. Elegance on a budget -great food, nice place, moderately prices.

Last time I went here was 9 years. Still an excellent buffet. Go for Lunch it's cheaper and exactly the same stuff. Ends at 4 for lunch, just show up at 3:55. My 4 and 6 year old ate a few things and they were nice enough not to charge me for them. I'd say that's kid friendly.

Good food buffet at reasonable cost, can’t ask for more. Lots of options to choose from. Would be nice if they can make a special daily dish & change it dainty to make it more attractive to people who visit there often. We always go there and get the same food, which is not a bad thing. I would recommend everyone to visit during lunch as their food is better and fresh during lunch, at dinner they sever the same food menu (which I believe they should change). Students get 10% discount & 5% discount for paying cash. We go there once in every other month and continue to visit there as long as their food & service is same or better.

Sitar is my favorite Indian food restaurant. I usually just get delivery, but this past weekend I went to the buffet twice and was delighted. The room is pretty small and very popular- but not overly packed. The buffet is all you can eat- I had two plates each time. The staff promptly takes away used plates and refills water, and all the food is hot and fresh. Also, the samosas are amazing!!

Have been going to this place since I could walk. They're moving locations soon but it's a Philly staple for Indian cuisine and if you go at the right time, their food is unmatched. However, if you go later at night when it's close to closing time, the buffet food begins to get dry so definitely go earlier!

I have been going to Sitar India for long time. Each time I have been their it has been wonderful experience. I enjoy many verity of dishes from their buffet, they are always fresh, hot and delirious. We also do menu items sometimes when we go and Some of my favorite dishes are Chili chicken, Chicken Do Piazza, Goat Curry, chicken Biryani. They taste even better when order a la carte. They also carry beer to go with their spicy food and carry few different Indian Beer, which goes nicely with food. Staff is friendly, restaurant is clean and most of all very reasonable.

Great Indian buffet that is under 10 if you use both the student and cash discount. Love their samosas and vegetable dishes. All dishes are labeled clearly whether they are vegetarian/vegan. Chai is always provided. Be prepared to wait for the lunch rush during the week.
