Stopped here for breakfast before hitting the town. I dig the modernized retro theme. The employees are super nice. We got creamed chipped beef on toast, with grits( throw back to my childhood in the 90's) and my husband got a protein packed omlette, as well as coffee. (His was regular- still good,
Early morning breakfast diner. I don’t usually come to south Philly for ANYTHING. On this good Thursday I found myself waiting for a friend to finish an appt so I came to this diner. Glad I did. Great French toast. Great coffee. Customer service was great. Will be returning the next time I happen to
The girls and I were in Philly for the Valentine's Day weekend and this diner was literally across the street from where we were staying at. My cousin & I came in one morning to have breakfast and everything was absolutely delicious. Waffle House may have some competition on their hands. Anyway, I l
Came during the re opening and the food, service and atmosphere was great. Will definitely come here again. Personal favorites are the Turkey dish and chicken francaise, along with the various soups (especially the broccoli cream and chicken noodle).
Also if you visit here you have to get the butter
6/15/22...try the farmer's omelet, it's delicious!
6/5/22...ordered a buttercream cake for someone's birthday. We used to have this cake growing up and it's still delicious!
3/23/22….You get to know the wait staff, Becca, Kim, Duane..they are all so nice. I had the ham and cheese omelette, with
My first time today and it will definitely not be my last! The worker (Becca) was super friendly and tentative with me. The food was prepared just how I ordered it and I got it in less than 5 minutes which was really fast (I was there at 9am on a Wednesday so it wasn't busy). The pancakes were so fl
I went to Melrose everyday for ten years and then I stopped for a long time. Well I went there today and they are back and better than ever. The food was great and the service was amazing. Very clean and very fresh. Melrose is again the place to be
Great place for any meal! Would highly recommend.
You guys really need to open this Landmark up, and be better than before. I am in my 60's and can remember coming here when I was a little girl. Started buying my children's birthday cakes here every year. So please get it up and running. We miss you guys.
Great place dine in. It is old style flavor with the warm feeling of South Philly. I was actually there to pick up a Butter Cream birthday cake for my mom's birthday. It is the original recipe they told me as the icing isn't super sweet and cake buttery and moist. I would recommend it with a cup of
Love the warm welcome and friendly staff; just overall nice vibe and the food is excellent; cooked like back home 😊
Great late spot diner. It's a well known establishment of Philly and has been around since 1935. Staff was very nice and told us about the history of the place.
Classic diner, the service is good and the portions are large. The buttercream
cake is good but I was expecting it to be a little moister, overall a good time.
I paid a visit to the famed Melrose Diner at 6 this morning for breakfast.
This establishment is an authentic “factory manufactured” diner which was invented in this country in the second half of the 20th century and dotted the landscape from sea to shining sea.
Having said this, I think it is worth
Going to miss this place. Diners are shuttering left and right and this place was one of the O.G.’s to this area. Melrose, you and your crew will be missed amd forever remembered. XOXOXO 😢
Classic greasy spoon. Just the right amount of service and everything is consistently delicious.
They always make one feel like family...or familia ❤️The food has always tasted great.
There's nothing like a neighborhood diner especially when the neighborhood is South Philadelphia. Great food and very reasonable prices equals a wonderful time. Also it is always a great idea to pick up a batch of the Melrose Diner sugar cookies at the counter before you leave. Mmm, mmm good!
