Just an incredible experience, everytime. Traveled down about 3 hours just to enjoy an hour at this lovely little pie shop with a friend. Sam is without a doubt one of the most jovial and kindly shop-keeps in the city, and the food is out of this world. Really, like, you'll forget you're in the states. Come early so you have your pick of the litter!
Chef Sam and his crew's friendly hospitality definitely makes this place a worthwhile visit. If you have little or no familiarity of British cuisine, put your fears aside and give Stargazy a try as I did. You'll be in good hands!
They made an excellent special preorder of Stargazy pie for me—my first one ever—and I was amazed by both how flavorful it was as well as seeing the little details such as stars on the crust.
I recommend BYO beer if you intend to eat there and not take out. Also, since pies are baked fresh daily, go earlier to avoid the chance that food sells out.
As an ex-Brit this is an essential stop off when in Philadelphia, great authentic pie, mash & liquor.
They have a great little section of British staples like tea, chocolate and crisps.
All the baked savories are excellent and the Scotch eggs are also amazing!
WOW YUM!! Delicious food and lovey dining experience. The meat pies are the best I’ve ever had + the sticky toffee pudding (pictured) cannot be missed.
Best authentic British pies in America - and so much more. Sausage rolls, fish n chips, great roasts all on Sunday. Sam’s a great guy even for a Spurs supporter.
I'm so happy; I was welcomed with a smile and when I took home my take-out, my family loved it
We had fish and chips that came with tartar sauce, mushy peas, malt vinegar; scotch egg; and mash with parsley liquor
They were all so tasty and comforting, I hope if I ever go to the UK that the food will be as good
Unreasonably good sausage rolls. Like, I didn't sign up for a new addiction to stuffing my face with these flaky, buttery, perfectly textured sausage filled rolls. But seriously, go get food, the owner is super awesome and friendly, and the food is out of this world.
Have been meaning to try this place and I snagged a 2G2G bag this morning. Didn’t look at the menu beforehand but the bag literally had the two things I would have chosen for myself - saag paneer pie and potato pasty. WOW. SO GOOD. WILL BE BACK!!!
Had a beef and onion pie last week , INCREDIBLE! Eating a Priddy Oggy now , SMASHING!🤩 Watching the Eagles lose but it’s Cold out be the staff and atmosphere is warm and inviting free tea!☕️, looking forward to my dessert
The most delicious British hand pies you can find in Philly! The potato and onion pastries with everything seasoning, and anything filled with curry are delicious. And make sure to check the specials! I only wish they were open every day.
Best fish & chips in the city, but everything here is good as hell
I love this freakin place! I go to it once a month when I have an appointment close by. Must haves are always the sausage rolls and millionaire bars. I always get a shepards pie because my boyfriend is obsessed and the cheesesteak hand pie was great. Great olace to stock up on goodies like maltesers and Irn Bru which is my favorite soda(tastes like bubblegum and supposedly is a hangover cure. ) They're now carrying some items in fishtown at Liberity Kitchen which is amazing (and super stinkin cute!) ONE day I'll make it for the fish and chips....one day...🥺
