Hello ! The place was quiet small . However , the sushi is really tasty and nice one drawback is its hard to communicate with staff and tells what do u really want.
I went here with my friend the other day and was quite impressed with the speed and service of the sushi bar. The sushi bar is quite small, only seating up around a dozen people at a time. If you're coming at dinner time, just beware that there could be a long wait. They also have a card minimum of $15, which I found to be an inconvenience. Besides that, the food was pretty good. I ordered the best friend's roll and the fried sweet potato roll, which were both delicious. The salmon on top of the best friend's roll wS flavorful and the crispness of the sweet potatoes complimented that. My friend got the crazy roll and the yellowtail-scallion roll. However, I found the crab to be mediocre and the scallion so so in the rolls. However I'd come back again to try their daily specials. For cheap sushi, Vic Sushi Bar is a hit.
This is my default sushi restaurant in the city. There's a great 3-roll for $11 special that is always running, the specialty rolls are absolutely delicious, and the service is fast. I usually order for takeout since there aren't too many seats in the restaurant itself, but if you do wait for a seat it is a BYOB which is also pretty wonderful.
Cheap but feesh n good quality sushi. My favorite in the city
Best sushi in Philly, and super affordable! Vic is a master, great to watch his magic whole sitting at the small bar. I've eaten there about 15 times since discovering it about 2 months ago!
Sushi was very good, but I expected more because of all the hype. We got take out - one 3 roll special (10.95), we chose spicy tuna, shrimp tempura and yellowtail-scallion, one Ocean Brothers Roll and Shrimp Shumai. Rolls are 8 pieces, but in the 3 roll special they were a small 8 pieces. Still a lot of food for the money. The special roll was delicious, the others were just good. I'd go back, but I prefer Shinju.
Coming from Vancouver where the sushi shops compete with the ever-so-present Starbucks for space, it is hard to find good sushi anywhere I go. I was referred to Vic Sushi Bar in Philadelphia by a fellow Vancouverite who had already gone through the sushi hunt and found this little gem. It is literally a little gem because the restaurant is tiny and the sushi- delicious. There is a small bar facing the chef and one table in front of the door. Making it an ideal spot to pick up or go in a very small group. We went on a weekday after the lunch rush and found seats at the table in front. The menu is extensive and includes all the basics you'd expect from a sushi shop. We ordered the spicy trio roll (salmon and avocado, spicy tuna and shrimp tempura roll) and a specialty roll consisting of salmon covered with salmon, avocado, eel and drizzled in eel sauce. Everything tasted extremely fresh. the rice was the perfect amount in each roll. It was made fresh and tasted warm. The fish were a
This place is moderately priced and there is a lot of variety in their rolls. this place is BYOB, so we brought asian pear
The place is pretty much a pick-up place. There are… maybe 10 seats around the bar. And the place is just the sushi bar.
Awesome sushi spot. Very small and not many seats. We sat at the counter. The sushi came out quickly and was great! Well worth a try. Prices are very reasonable
Tried Vic for the first time for a last minute lunch with a friend and absolutely adored it! We planned to pick up takeout to eat in the park but got lucky with available seats on a hot day and decided to eat inside! We both got the 3 roll special which is a fantastic deal! I tried the salmon, spicy tuna, and crab roll. My friend got the salmon mango, tuna avocado, and cucumber rolls! Everything was very fast and so fresh! You order directly from the chef in front of you. Sitting at their counter feels like an intimate cooking show! Watching the chef make each roll is art come to life. I will definitely be back soon! Have heard rave reviews about their non sushi items and have got to try them!
Fantastic little sushi bar! Everyone is so friendly and the sushi is prepared in front of you within MINUTES of ordering. Such a great little find!
Great neighborhood sushi spot with counter seating only.
The sushi was perfect and the steamed dumplings were next level. They were clearly hand made and not frozen.
Very cute sushi spot. Only sits about 10 people. It's very cozy and the chef makes the sushi right in front of you. The 3 rolls for $15 deal is insane for center city. The fish also tasted fresh. Overall a hit for me and my bf. Will be coming again.
Big taste in a small shop. The food and service are excellent. Only knock, there's only a table for seating, rest is bar seating. Still recommend.
A very small Japanese restaurant with a lot of choices of sushi rows. Fresh fish but not cheap though
It was my first try sea urchin , oh it was so good, also stuff is very friendly, and seafood so fresh, definitely come back !
Best sushi deal in the city! Fresh fish, well made, and honestly mind boggling prices. Did I mention it’s also BYOB?
My wife and I will regularly split a platter and finish with an a la carte order of Uni nigiri which is always delightfully fresh and buttery.
Little hole in the wall BYOB sushi restaurant. They have about 10 seats and do take out as well. Cooks prepare the hand rolled sushi right in front of you as you eat, and they are as quick as possible with serving.
