Everything we had here was amazing and truly authentic french bakery. Definitely stop by for lunch and try their special pizzas and sandwiches. You will feel city of brotherly love ❤️ Mushroom pizza was a hit!

Ordered a Prosciutto Baguette. Bread was extremely fresh, almost like it was just out of the oven. The sandwich had a nice touch of basil pesto, enough of arugula, and a good amount of prosciutto. Delicious and on point! Once again, can't recommend their bread enough!

Have always loved the coffee and pastries here but tried pizza tonight and it was I tried the butternut squash pizza which I feel is generally a risky experiment but I loved how it turned out. The thin crust was absolutely perfect, the cheese, pesto, and onion beautifully complemented the butternut squash, and overall it was a great dish.

I remember the first time we had @metropolitanbakery was when we got their pizza kit 🍕 🧑‍🍳 It was super fun and they gave us the dough, cheese, pepperoni, and specific instructions to make it. Fantastic way to get fresh pizza without having to make the dough from scratch This time around, we ordered a nice lunch for takeaway and are at home with the family. Got the Margarita and mushroom pizzas 🍕 then lamb chop, Caesar salad from @eatmarathon (they are right across from each other) Pizzas were nice and crispy packed with flavor but not too overwhelming. They have a nice thin crust , crispy Italian style, with a soft core that blended well with their homemade sauce. Best part is they always have really fresh ingredients. Mushroom comes with a garlic crema, thyme, scallion + belnd of mushrooms and cheeses. , super simple yet fresh & tasty @midwestmunching on Instagram for more

Really glad that I finally got a chance to visit. Overall I gave 4.3 maybe? but 5 eventually for the reasonable price. Both croissant and carrot layer cake were good although not the best best. So did the French rye I got.

Got a rosemary olive oil loaf, coffee cake and some assorted pastries-- the bread was absolutely delicious. The pastries and coffee cake were a perfect way to start our morning. Staff was so friendly, shop was very clean and inviting. I can't wait to come back!

Very good bakery, ranks in my top 5 in Philadelphia. Croissant is good while it could be a bit more crispy, buttery and flaky on the top. The quality of the baguette is very solid although not my favorite in town. The multigrain baguette is very good even though a bit on tge denser side due to the special dough. I love the rest of the breads (sour dough loaves, ...). I am not a regular but love to go there or at the Reading terminal market once in a while (trying to complete the award card - 13th is free).

I like this place a lot. They are very pricey in my opinion but make very good chai latte and excellent cookies. They close by 4 so you have to get in there before work is done. Nice afternoon pickup

Great bread offerings of course. But run don’t walk for any of the fruit pies. The varieties weekly are based on the freshest in-season fruit. This bakery makes a pie crust that is ambrosia. Light, flaky, delicious. And the chocolate cakes - sinful. Other cakes and loaf sweet breads are all great. My ‘go to’ bakery for bread in Philadelphia. Wonderful helpful staff.

The food is VERY tasty, and it feels like home made, I loved it! Specially the paistries!! I'm not American so usually American sweets are way too sweet for my taste, but everything I got here was just right! (butter cookies specially) And the staff is very helpful, will come back anytime I'm in town!

My favorite pastry shop in Philly! Everything I've tried from there - croissants, scones, muffins, coffee cake, cookies, danish has been delicious ☺️ You can't go wrong. My favorites so far are almond croissants, ginger scones, berry danish, coffee cake and lemon poppy seed muffins. It's hard to resist not making a stop there every weekend :)

This bakery is dynamite. We are loyal customers to it. The cherry chocolate cookie is out of this world. Canele are also amazing. Better than any canele we have had in france. Friendly staff. Pretty shop, and good location. It is a bit pricey but 100% worth it.
