I returned to my all time favorite restaurant while I was Penn student 20+ years ago. They merged neighboring townhouses and increased its presence on the street without compromising the great atmosphere and delicious dishes. Now I live in NJ, so I’m hoping to come back.
This was my first time visiting and I went with a seasoned veteran. The food was sooo good. I had the deviled eggs, the cornbread, and the lamb bolognese. My friend also recommends the melon salad if you’re looking for something unique to try. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a classy but still casual dinner near University City.
Fantastic stop! Perfect for a visit. The food is local and very fresh. The deviled eggs were very delicious. Servers are very knowledgeable and attentive.
It’s very cozy. Perfect for students to invite parents while they are visiting you in the city :) We were having a family dinner there. I liked salmon here more than in an ordinary restaurant at home in Norway 😂
I have visited other White Dog locations. Love the decor and ambiance overall.
This time was not so great. The establishment wasn’t busy and service was mediocre. It took a very long time to get our drinks and even longer for the waitress to check on us to order and even get a second round of drinks. Truffle fries were great! Cesar salad was underwhelming.
Maybe next time it will be better.
Ordered two New York Strip Steaks which turned out perfect medium rare. The restaurant is a bit loud but that's probably because there's a full table of college reunion next to me. Overall great experience.
One of my favorite places. Quality service, food, drink, and atmosphere. Delicious! I recently had the melon salad. I posted pics here. Clearly I devoured it yum!
Great experience! The atmosphere was warm and inviting, Mary our server was very attentive, farm to table meant everything was fresh, the menu was creative, and the mushroom soup was perfect! Highly recommend!!
We dined here while visiting from out of town. It was delicious and we had great service.
Extremely good food. We ordered mushroom soup, the wedge and some asparagus with a side of salmon. We then finished strong with a tropical fruit cake of some kind. Was fantastic. Highly recommend. The patio is very nice.
