Excellent brunch location right next to the Liberty Bell! Generous portion size for very reasonable price. Disappointed that cheesesteaks are not offered for breakfast, would love to try one day!

NEW AMERICAN IN OLD CITY The story of America was written in its colonial taverns, where future revolutionaries gathered to trade ideas and engage in spirited debate over hearty meals and cold drinks. Red Owl is smack in the heart of the cradle of liberty, Red Owl aims to revive that classic tavern experience, with a distinctly modern touch. The restaurant's superior details—hand-crafted cocktails, house-cured charcuterie, butcher-shop cuts of steak—make it a neighborhood respite. We do our best to accommodate the individual tastes and preferences of our guests with a variety of vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free menu options. That’s how Red Owl manages to be old, new and free-thinking all at once. Just like Philly.

This place was really good! I’d recommend trying all the appetizers, Especially the octopus and cauliflower and pork belly. Tender, flavorful and unique combos. I was pleasantly impressed by the salmon and lentil dish because it had the right amount of salty, citrus and sweet. I was less delighted in the cheesecake since I prefer more cheesy forward flavor. Overall good place for a big group, great service and location.

Great place for a laid back lunch on the Independence Mall in Philly. I had the Fried Clam Roll and my wife enjoyed their Fried Chicken Sandwich. Both were perfect and quick. Great vibes and service, and right near all the attractions. We will be back next time we are in town for sure!

Came in for lunch with some friends. Was seated right away on a Friday afternoon. Everyone enjoyed their meals and we tried a few of the appetizers. I would recommend the fried cauliflower for an appetizer. Had a full bar plus some specialty cocktails. The only thing is the bathroom is in the attached hotel down some stairs.

Random pick on my visit to Philly last weekend. The food was excellent. The drinks were refreshing! Aoili dipping sauce and fries to die for! I had the wagyu beef sandwhich.

My wife and I recently visited the restaurant after spending a day in Center City. When looking at the menu, we noticed the large variety of brews. We had the Dock Street Golden, and it was great. The food menu was limited, but the entrees we selected were delicious. The food was hot, and the presentation of the food felt upscale compared to typical "bar food" you would get at a brew house. We shared a generous portion of the truffle fries, which we highly recommend! This place is perfect if you want to have casual dining and drinks but in a venue with a more upscale feel.

The food we ordered was amazing ! For appetizers we got fried meatballs. The meatballs themselves were delicious but they were too small for our liking. For our entree we ordered the bougee Ben burger. The avocado was an extra charge (don’t remember how much). The burger was juicy, flavorful and filling. The fries were also really yummy. We also had refills on our soft drinks. Highly recommend. If I could, I would give it a 4.5 because of their seating. It was a bit cramped, everyone can over hear each others conversation. Overall, definitely one of the best burgers we’ve had. We can’t wait to come back! Price: $90 without tip Ambiance: Dim lights, tavern feel. Waitress: She was really kind and attentive. **edit** they recently updated their menu. So some items you might see from Other Older reviews might not be available when you arrive there.

First time visiting and loved every bite. I had the Philly Jawn breakfast sandwich and my husband had the chicken sandwich. The food brought tears of joy to our eyes. No photos because we inhaled every beautiful bite. This is our new to us favorite brunch spot.

My family ordered a chicken ceasar salad, turkey croissant, and a grilled burger not only was it delicious it was also reasonably priced the facility was a clean and unique tavern with lots of great decor. Service was fantastic and our waiter was very attentive. Great place for a family lunch/dinner but also drinks with friends. Bathroom was quite a walk but it wasn't so far a star should be removed.
