Carmen’s Famous Cheesesteaks located in the Reading Terminal next to Bassetts Ice Cream is the very, very best of the best Cheesesteak place I have ever eaten at!! Been here many times - always spot on amazing. Tons of meat, and the highest quality too. I recommend the Pizza Steak - out of this Worl
Yeah it’s touristy and you’ve got to wait for 20-30 minutes to get your sandwich, it was in my opinion a very solid cheesesteak. I’m sure there are better out there but this was a decent baseline. I got mine with American and roast peppers and it was very flavorful and served on a nice soft bun. I’
The cashier was a very friendly guy. As for the cheesesteak, it was enjoyable overall. I got with onions and sharp provolone. The bread in particular was great.
Fantastic Philly cheesesteak!
Make sure you're there early to avoid the queue. We were there at noon (on a weekday) and got our cheesesteak within 5 minutes.
Half and full size Philly cheesesteaks (or chicken) with choice of toppings like hot peppers, pickles, mushrooms and onions. Popular lunch spot, customized orders, and playing cards passed out instead of order numbers. My mushroom onion full size with steak was hot, savory, and filling.
Delicious food and good value. $20 for a half sandwich and fries. The fries were fresh and everything tasted good. Greasy and delicious. I got a half sandwich with provolone, onions, mushrooms, lettuce and pickles on the side.
Carmen's is located inside of Reading Market and it was a cool experience
First time trying their cheese steaks and it was delicious! Line at 1030 AM on a Sunday was short! We came Friday & line was so long that we didn’t want to wait especially w/ kids.
If you want one, come catch it in the morning right when they open. Worth it! :-)
The owner is so very personable. We were visiting from out-of-state so we were prepared to wait however long it took. We waited in line for an hour, but baby let me tell you it was well worth it! The Philly Showcase was going on that weekend so I assume that added to the wait. Don't settle for the h
This place caused a lot of confusion. When I got to the front I ordered a philly cheese steak. The cashier then asked me if I'd like to add mushrooms to it. I asked him if they were free and he said "no". He then proceeded to tell me how it wouldn't make any sense to give out free mushrooms on a san
Enjoyed this cheesesteak very much. I went on a Sunday morning and only had a few ppl in line in front of me. This was very good and was worth the cost. I would def eat again. Food came quick and the taste was great
Steak was great and I was excited to find that they had Cooper Sharp American as a cheese option. First time I've had it without provolone and it was phenomenal with the sharp American!
