Absolutely love this place. The food, service and atmosphere were all excellent. Beer selection is as good as you would expect. The beer cocktails were solid too. My only complaint would be that they only have one person taking orders at the food counter and it was extremely busy, my guess is that they do it to not over work the kitchen staff.
Probably oldest beer garden of Philly which designed as a bad. I used to love this spot pre Covid as the space were used for games and such cool vibes. Now they still have couple of games here and there but put more chair tables to sit in the open space. Became a more chill out space now. The food is mostly beer bar food. But a great spot for beer people. Great collection of German beers especially. All and all worth going and chill time to time.
We went for their annual Santa brunch. It was great. It's a fun place to bring the kids for the afternoon while enjoying an adult beverage.
Went on a Friday night and had a great time! All the beers we had were great and the bratwurst and spicy wurst were really good.
Great vibe, service and really like playing Jenga or going by the fireplace. Will say parking is kind of stiff in the area so good luck but Frankford hall is a great place to be with friends!
Amazing ambience. Abundant outdoor seating located inside the building with a decent amount of indoor tables. Great price for German beer by the liter. Just wish the portions are a bit bigger for the price you pay
I waffled between 4 and 5 stars, here. Ultimately, the experience is excellent but the food is fairly ordinary. The sausages we tried were tasty but unexceptional. The sauerkraut lacked the punch that it should have. And, there should have been more mustard options. Our fries were well-cooked but lacked seasoning. our pretzel was over salted.
Still, the beer selection is outstanding. The environment is fun. We spent an hour playing Jenga before a show, never feeling pressured to hurry along. This is an excellent place to spend a couple of hours--just understand you're not there for the food.
Great German style Bavarian Bier drinking hall. The Bier is straight from Germany and on tap it tastes delicious. I highly recommend going here and sampling the Bier for yourself!
It's a beer garden with way above average food. Definitely not your typical menu of so-so comfort food. They have delicious, traditional German dishes including Wiener Schnitzel, spätzle and a variety of homemade sausage. Your food is brought to you after ordering at the counter. There is indoor seating but in nice weather most people sit outside at the picnic tables. Most tables have umbrellas so there's plenty of shade. We were there on a Saturday afternoon and they had a live German band.
The food was fantastic. The Wurst platter had all 5 of their German sausages and homemade kraut. The potato pancakes were very good as was the Wiener Schnitzel, spätzle and German potato salad. They also have gourmet burgers, fries and soft pretzels for the less adventurous. We'll go back when craving the foods we grew up eating.
We ate at the barbecue Restaurant. The food was absolutely great. If the brisket was perfectly cooked... What a great selection of food. If you like bourbon it's the place to go as well. Next time we're in town we will be going again.
Frankford Hall has a really good late night vibe. They offer a wide selection of craft beers. If you come here it is most likely to try different drinks. There was plenty of seating and service was fast. I did not have to wait in line more than a minute or two for any of the drinks. I am not sure how the food is yet because I did not order any food.
Expect to pay between $10-15 per drink
Even though the center square of the facility is out doors, it is warm because they have multiple out door heaters.
This place is AWESOME! Great authentic German Bierhalle built into an old warehouse or something. Very rustic broken brick walls, enormous outdoor courtyard with long wooden tables, a bar with massive tankards from which to guzzle Bier, and a hearty German food stand to provide you with delicious Essen. I loved this place and would definitely go back. The massive pretzel is great, and the sausages were top notch too.
This place is fire! Went there for the first time on impulse the other day. I was planning on getting something small. My daughter saw the fire pit in the court yard and wanted to sit near it. So a snack turned into dinner. We tried an assortment of sausages, a giant pretzel and my husband had a burger. Everything was amazing! We will be back again.
There is indoor and outdoor seating available. We sat outside, it was lovely. You have to go to each window (food, beer) to place your orders. The food is very, very good. Small details like homemade apple sauce and maybe even homemade sour cream was very impressive. I would love to come back again when we have more time. Overall very impressed with the food, venue and beer 🍻
Great spot to meet up with friends, and enjoy some good German beers and food. Only down side is the smoke from the fire pits during the colder months. It’s nice to have the extra heat, but it makes it hard to breathe both inside the building and out, and you leave smelling like smoke.
Have been coming to Frankford hall for years now. The German beer selection is great and the food is pretty good. We enjoy coming here during the week when it's not as bumpin and love sitting in the outside area. Overall great place to drink with friends!
Great spot in North Philly. Beautiful Biergarten to watch the Phillies game from. Brings me back to Bavaria.
Amazing place! The beet salad was particularly great! They're also a fantastic community partner and offer a superb place for events. Service is awesome as well and it's in a wonderful location
