First time here, and now after trying food from Ray's, as a native Petaluman, I'm shaking my own head...I mean timing is everything, I know this, and yet it took me this long (*I hold out my arms really wide*) to try, why is that???
Hands down, and up 🙌 one of the best warmed up turkey-avocado sandwiches I've had in a long time, recommended to add aoli. Well balanced in flavors!

A couple sandwiches had a star for spicy on them & I think just had Chipotle Mayo, we didn’t notice any significant kick, but to each their own, they were still delicious :)
Roast Beef Special is to die for! Layers of flavor that are cohesive and different. Great imaginative foods that are huge.
Was my 1st time, my husband went his 1st time last week and couldn't believe how amazing the sandwiches were and definitely knew I'd love them as well. Absolutely delicious definitely going to be our new place to get our sandwiches.
Sandwiches are all delicious. But they aren't that big, may want to order a side with it. Great spot for a beer too.
Great place to stop and have a really good sandwich! My husband and I were in the area hiking, we were hungry afterwards. So we stopped at Ray's! Good decision. I ordered the Roast Beef special. Very flavorful. The roll was just the right amount of crispy and soft. The roast beef was juicy and peppery... Probably came from the Pesto aoli sauce! Great service. casual environment, clearly full of regulars 👍🏼

Ray's is hands-down my favorite lunch place of all time. With a menu full of delicious sandwiches AND a tavern with great local beet on tap, it's hard to go anywhere else for lunch. Hot tip: order the roast beef special "French dip style" or the French dip on garlic bread.... you'll never regret it.
Seriously one of the best sandwiches I've had in my life, and I'm 65 so that's a lot of sandwiches. Not only was the combination of flavors amazing, but each ingredient was delicious from the thinly sliced fresh turkey to the perfectly cooked bacon and fabulous pesto sauce. I had the Keokuk and highly recommend it. The rolls are great too - not just regular bread, some special recipe that's divine. If you've been here, you know what I'm talking about! If you haven't, treat yourself to a killer sandwich sometime. Ray's has such an unassuming presence (on an out of the way street with a humble exterior) that I almost keep driving . . . but so glad I stopped. This is the kind of sandwich where you look like a crazy person because you mutter to yourself about how frickin' good it is between every bite. YUM!
Amazing sandwiches!! I placed a large order (about 15 sandwiches) for a family reunion I was having, and everyone LOVED their sandwiches! We all got something different, so I don't think you can go wrong with anything here. Also, the staff was very friendly and accommodating! I would say the price is pretty good for how amazing the food is. Can't wait to go back and try something new!
