Alexander's Steakhouse

Can't believe I missed the opportunity to snap a photo of the fillet and steak fries plate I had. The steak was tender and cooked to perfection and although I ordered the terriyaki season I wasn't a fan no fault of theirs I just figured it sounded great. You no longer stand around the grill and chat and cook your own, but one couple did go chat with the grill master. I would definitely do this again.

Had a GREAT experience! Was seated next to the steak cooler and the back grill so got to see all the action. I am a grill aficionado and had thought I would cook my own so I was absolutely enthralled with the process. To be able to sit and watch as the 2 chefs efficiently handled 5-10 pieces of meat each at one time was awesome. I had several great chats with Chef Steven about his experience and how he handles rare, medium and well requests. He was very accommodating of my questions. I had the 16 oz rib-eye. I let the chefs cook it and it was excellent. The salad bar was extensive and reminded me of a great place our family used to go in NW Iowa. One of the owners found out it was my first time there and stopped by to talk for a while. Kathy was our wait staff and she was great. All in all a great experience. My only question is when will you open in Omaha?! Thanks again!

A friend and I went to Alexander’s Steakhouse tonight. I haven’t been there for 6 years. Sally and I always ordered the “Marinated Filet.” My friend and I both ordered that because I remember how good it was. This time the steak was only one third or one half at best the size it used to be. It wasn’t marinated, although the server said it was. I couldn’t taste that it had been marinated at all. That usually is a very obvious enhancement to the flavor. So I get a much smaller steak and the overall ticket was more than 10% over what it used to be, before tipping. I was extremely disappointed. Less meat by a lot, and more ticket cost. Not sure I will give them another chance. At this point, the steak at a family restaurant is every bit as good as that one was tonight, and for about one forth the price.

Great steak. Really great steak. They handled our group of 60 very well. But the wine list was very short and not very well rounded. It was also quite crowded and hard to move around. Due to a lot of reservations they limited the menu of side dishes you could order, and the only options were potatoes. The salad bar relied heavily on prepared salads and actual fresh veggies were limited. It didn't make up for having no vegetable options for sides. After the meal it took quite a while to get our checks and pay, there were a lot of us, and a lot of credit cards. Would be nice to try this place again, when not dining with a large group.
