I am so thrilled that this restaurant is in my neighborhood. I went for the very first time this evening for dinner and will definitely be going back. The food was excellent and the prices are very reasonable. Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable. The decor is simple but elegant and I'm happy to have finally found a place that I will be frequenting often.

AMAZING Japanese restaurant!!! Owner is Japanese and gets quality fish making it really authentic. Many recipes are savory traditional Japanese dishes. Try the miso eggplant appetizer or any of the ramen noodle dishes!!!

My Sushi Nigiri needs to have the perfect amount of vinager. I've searched all over in and away my neighborhood. I found it here. It's the best tasting Sushi away from NYC! I'll be back for sure!
Great casual spot for Japanese food. Relatively cheap too! The nigiri I had were all pretty good. And this is probably one of the best spots in Miami for a good katsu curry. I did have the katsu don recently, and it wasn't that good. However the usual stuff I get is always done quite well, and the service is stellar. I can't wait to try other things on the menu. The atmosphere is always very nice and relaxed, and not too loud or too quiet.

We were around the area and search on Google Map to found this Japanese restaurant. The atmosphere was nice and clean. The service was helpful and friendly. We ordered takeout that day. We ordered some rolls and a fried oysters. The rolls were good, but the fired oysters was a bit dry. We had fried oysters from many Japanese restaurants. Perhaps we might have to say they are 2 out of 10 on the fried oysters. They were cut in half and you can see how dry they look. It was not too pleasant. Those rolls were typical and average. We might go back again and try to eat in next time.

I've driven past Mikan for the last 7 years and today was the 1st time I ever went inside and I sure am glad I did.
The Eel was fresh, the Spicy Tuna super tasty. Service was awesome. And the place was clean. Well definitely visit again.

Easily the best and most authentic Japanese Restaurant in Pembroke Pines, dare I say Broward County. The Spicy conch is amazing, the Sashimi is always high quality, buttery and fresh (chef throws in extra from time to time) and… they have Toro and Uni! 5 stars and more. Most authentic! LOVE this place
It’s an EXCELLENT place to get a delicious, fresh and so tasteful sushi. We also asked for ramen and OMG ... delicious. We just loved everything in this place. The food is amazing. It was my first time trying the famous dessert (I don’t remember the name) and it’s very very delicious, especially the mango ice cream one. I definitely will be back for more of this menu. 100% recommended
I love this place. Small and cozy. The food is excelente. The soups are big and will get you full for sure. Sushi and gyozas are so delicious. Staff is very friendly and attentive.
Good food, we had the udon. A little salty for my liking but pretty standard for most udons I had. The sushi was really good though. Tasted fresh and we got a good portion. Everything is a little expensive but not outrageous. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The restaurant was clean and had a good layout. Overall, not the best Japanese restaurant I've been to but still good spot to eat if you're in the area.

Our first visit was 2019. My husband and I went specifically for the cooked sushi. We weren't disappointed. For being located in South Florida it's as authentic as we can get but we don't have a lot of GOOD choices (surprisingly). The staff was friendly and service was fast. Try their peach or Apple sake (chilled) it was great!! I was able to make adjustments like light cream cheese so your rolls are customizable. We order The Miami Heat and Deep Fried Bagel Rolls. The Cucumber and Conch was good for an appetizer. If you do not like spicy food don't order it. The fried ice cream was a nice first time surprise but a little too much batter. If you're looking for a full meal with fried rice etc. this is not the place for that. If you have children unless they eat sushi there's really nothing on the menu for them either. The sake I rate a 5 flavor of authentic food I rate a 4 I would've like the salmon on top cooked a little more. I believe our server was Katie who gave great recommendations for our next visit.
*Update we’ve made several visits since 2019 it’s now 2021 and we’re still loving this place. Try it you won’t be disappointed. I have tried several more cooked rolls since then. I’ll update if I try the traditional sushi rolls.
A true gem in the heart of Pines Blvd. Mikan is a small place (4 booths on each side, about four tables down the middle and 4 sushi bar seats) so make sure to check google metrics before arriving or you’ll be in for a wait. They offer a nice selection of hot and cold dishes, but I only had sushi during this trip.
Pictured is the Bagel Hand Roll (10/10) and the Yellowtail Jalapeño Roll (9/10). Great quality fish at a phenomenal price—it’s truly difficult to find this quality at this rate!

The service is always nice, the food is always on point, like so good you won't know what to do. They do everything by hand, so this can take a little while especially during lunch hour, but definitely worth the wait!
I enjoyed my lunch here. If you’re looking for authentic Japanese food. This is the place to go!

Love their tonkatsu ramen. And the butter fried mushrooms! Add an egg, you wont be disappointed. The grilled squid also tasty and went well together. I was a little disappointed in the size of fish cut for sashimi though. A good sashimi cut should be near 1/2 in depending on how long the piece, but I felt like these were so thin as to be slice more suited for being on a roll. Stick to ramen and the apps, you will be happy.
