Muddy Brook Cafe

Our group of four adults only had breakfast, but everyone was thrilled with their selection. We weren't expecting an Irish fare, and it took some questions and web searches to know what we were getting (black and white pudding, rashers, etc.), but we last happy and satiated for a decent price considering the size (about $13 per person). The Farmhouse Breakfast (pictured) was terrific, particularly the home fries and the sausage with a bit of brown sauce.

Get the Irish/ belfast breakfast! ( pictured) it is a traditional Irish breakfast with fresh high quality ingrediants . Make sure to get the brown bread with breakfast . The bread is dense ( not fluffy) and dry that is how it's supposed to be but it's great for sopping up the egg yolks from the over easy eggs. If you are looking for a great breakfast this is the place. While I've only eaten breakfast here I'm sure the lunch menu would be just as good. The staff is friendly and efficient. The meals are served quickly and the prices are fair. Muddy brook is tastefully decorated and clean. Pearl river is a town of predominantly irish heritage and muddy brook is a great place to see that. I highly recommend this establishment.

Excellent. For all you youngsters who don't know, Pearl River used to be called Muddy Brook :) Highly recommend this place, delicious food, good sized portions, great prices. Staff very friendly. Hits the spot for breakfast! Good to support mom & pop businesses. Pearl River will always have that generational vibe, lovely!

I give it 3 stars. The food was good. The service was good. The coffee was good. The downside was the employees who smoked cigarettes. They would smoke at the front door and the cafe would fill with their cigarette stank. Was there with our baby, so I was a little more annoyed by the cigarette smell. Oh and cash only.

Been going there for well over 10 years and used to always enjoy it, used to! Used to go there 6-10 times a year and enjoyed the food and service although a bit on the pricy side. After moving to Indiana I was happy to take my dad this morning, however it was a mistake. No one acknowledged us when we came in and sat ourselves (used to always very you) although it was not busy. Food came out fast and the basket of brown bread was 3 end pieces and one small piece. No one would look at us so we could ask for more coffee and tea. I finally got up to ask, a few minutes later a girl went around with coffee and never came by our table. 5 minutes later and food getting cold I asked the head waitress and mentioned I asked the other girl. I heard then taking about the fact that I was waiting. When I got my bill there was an additional charge of $4.50 on it and when I asked the girl who brought the coffee and tea what the charge was for she told me it was for the extra tea?!? I asked her when did this start I have never been charged for "extra" tea before and she replied " she added it on" I asked her again when did this start and she couldn't answer and just said again "she put it on the bill" Not wanting my dad to know offer cause a scene I just paid my bill. I am very upset about this experience, I am a quiet person that tips well (except today, only $4) and disgusted on how I was treated I started bringing people there from work nearby and am going there on Tuesday and will most certainly tell them about this.
