Review Anne Arundel Seafood - Pasadena

Zack Koontz
Consistently good seafood. The place is pretty big with nice picnic tables throughout. There are separate sections - 1 to order raw or steamed seafood and 1 to order fried food, sandwiches, sides, and desserts. You get a ticket after ordering and then the ticket is called over a loudspeaker for you to pickup. Everyone is very nice and we have never gotten anything we didn't like. Don't miss out on the desserts either. They have a bunch of different cheesecakes.

The reviews here are really good and I wanted to enjoy the food but unfortunately I did not. So the selections on both sides of restaurant are not bad. It appears to be well maintained and clean inside. Every employee I encountered was very nice. My food was hot and fresh and smelled good. Unfortunately, the disappointment came with zero taste. Old bay & butter are historic with seafood so it’s nothing wrong with using it but in 2021 it’s just boring to have this as the season to prepare the food. I think the prices are high “overall” for food received.

Had lunch here a couple times and the food was great. A great selection of fresh seafood. You can also get carry out here and take home the good food. The only negative I have is that the restaurant area is very uncomfortable. Mainly picnic style tables with an outdoor eating area. I guess this is practical when eating crabs.

This place was nice and clean. I did get a weird feeling about the guy who took my order but I guess it was because he thought I was playing ignorant when actually it was my very first visit. The crabs where good for the price. I went on the half of Wednesdays. And for medium I guess these were decent sized.

Always seem to have good seafood selection to choose from; either steamed or fried. It should be noted or made more clear for first timers. You go in the market side and order what you want by pounds or dozens to be steamed. If you want fried fish or other foods, then you go to the other section, where the beer coolers are and place an order there. It's not clear where to order what and where it you go in here for the first time. Just follow the locals leads. You won't be disappointed with the food. The prices are fair, crab legs are a little high right now (July 2022) 34.95 a lb, but they are high everywhere.

The strangest setup in a restaurant, but it works. Been going here for 25ish years or more, since I was a kid. This is the most reasonably priced seafood around. Food is always good and there is quite a large menu. I don't mind that our food doesn't necessarily come out at the same time (from both sides), but some people might. Steamed shrimp are always perfection. Black bottom cupcakes and nutty buddies are the best staple desserts. The crackers were pretty stale. It can get congested and gives me a little bit of anxiety when it's packed, and the parking isn't wonderful, but they have renovated and added tables over the years. It's a unique place that should end up on Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives one day!

Absolutely terrible service. I was in at about 9:25 and they close at 10. From the moment I walked through the door I can tell they don't want me there. The little boy stocking drinks thinking he's funny tells me to get out, then proceeds to continue stocking and not take my order. Tells me that a crab cake sandwich is too much work this late, after his first two"jokes" didn't land he should have gotten the hint. Then when I walk to the other side to get some corn ANOTHER rude young kid immediately yells"we're done steaming for the night" 30 minutes before closing,if you want to be closed at 9 then make that your hours but don't get mad at customers for coming in after 9 when your website and door both say 10pm. When my food is finally done this rude little old lady comes out to take payment. I asked for 3 black bottom cupcakes and she just slaps them on the counter no bag, nothing. It's not until I take them and try to figure out how to do it that she snapped"need a bag". To top it all off I get home open the boxes and it's not even a crab cake sandwich, it's a Crab cake on 2 pieces of wax paper with 2 pickle slices and a pack of crackers. I've been coming here my entire life living in Pasadena and never had this terrible service this will certainly be the last time I ever go back.Zero stars if I could.

I Feel Like I'm at Home. No, I don't live in a seafood market. However, my family has been coming here as far back as I can remember. Somewhat reminiscent of an open-air market, the seafood is some of the freshest in town, the cream-of-crab soup is delicious, and the pitchers of beer are ice cold. You can purchase your seafood and take it home, or they will cook it for you to eat right there at one of the picnic tables. You can order crab cakes, and fried shrimp at the front deli, or you can purchase fresh from the raw bar and have your food steamed while you wait. The tables are first come first serve and it gets crowded in the summer. Don't expect to be waited on, because it is, after all, a seafood market with the option to eat-in. Winter is the best time to go, because the oysters are in season, and it's not as crowded. This place is a local spot, so be ready for some Maryland accent, with a huge helping the of working class. My kind of people, my kind of place.

MMM Seafood Hungry. We take our Family and friends there a fair amount. Last night was Grandma's 90th b-day and she choose AA Seafood for dinner. We had a feast with an aray of seafood from Crab Legs to Cray Fish as well as the Fish Sub that is too big to bite until you eat some out of it. This place is CRAZY good and the people (customers and employee's) are down to earth and fun. We were there for 3 hours and everyone there was like family. Can't wait to go back real soon! Prices are more then reasonable and you can't beat the quality. I could go on for a long time about AA Seafood but... Just go and see for yourself. You WILL be back for more. You'll leave with a full belly and a smile on your face! Great times and just DAMN GOOD FOOD!!!

Very satisfied!!. To very dissatisfied, if you have a problem with somebody that works there take it outside of your review. it sounds like your upset with a person not the food that's outside of their actual business. i have been going to arundel seafood for over 40 years. my entire family grew up on arundel seafood. their food is awesome!!!! i love the down to earth atmosphere. come as you are and enjoy the best!!! i live in new jersey now and travel quite often in the summer just to visit arundel. in the 40 some years i have never once seen a woman steaming anything outside where the crab legs, mussels, oysters, etc are. i may have missed this. if they had 20 owners who cares? not sure why you are pointing things out in your review that has nothing to do with the food. again i have tried everything on the menu and it's all delicious!!! and if you had 5 people at one time shouting out orders it might seem like they have an attitude but, they are merely filling their orders and passing them back to the cooks to be prepared. proud to be a customer of arundel and will continue to visit and dine at this establishment!

Extremely displeased. Normally I love this place, but I think it is going down hill rapidly. The service has slipped to an all time low and it spans several employees and at least 1 of the 6 owners. With this establishment having that many different owners I am not surprised that the structure is falling apart. I ordered our food, and it was very chaotic, it didn't seem like anyone really knew what there jobs were. The area where you sit was full so we decided to sit in the tables in the enclosed patio area where you could still hear them call the numbers over the loud speaker and see them prepare the food; our number was never called over the loud speaker. Our food sat on the top getting cold, We didn't even recognize it as our order as half of it was missing and had corn which we did not order and it was covered in old bay which we ordered it without. When I asked where my 2 lbs of crab legs were, a lady behind the counter asked another worker who responded to her "Well, he's sh*t out of luck". We requested to see a manager and while waiting two employees flipped each other off. When we complained with the one owner, Bud, his response was "What do you want me to do about it?" Unacceptable! If he would have at least acted sympathetic, I would have thought twice about coming back. As it is, I'm not even going to bother.

FUN FUN FUN. My sugestion to anyone having out of towners coming to the area is bring them here. You can buy any amount of steamed seafood you like. Allowing you to sample a variety of small portions. They also have fried and broiled seafood as well. Its not like any restaurant you've ever been to.

Two words... Steamed.Shrimp. best damn shrimp I have ever had.

Arundel Seafood. I've been a customer for many, many years. I have never been disappointed. Always the freshest and best tasting seafood. I usually always order the stuffed shrimp platter, and their macaroni salad as one of my side choices. Yum..... The shrimp are steamed to order so we alweays get some of them too. When crabs are in season, go and order a couple dozen. Grab a seat at one of the picnic tables, roll out your paper , order some cold beer and get ready to dig in. Relaxed and laid back, no frills, just good fresh food and a nice bunch of people. Matter of fact, I plan on going there this weekend and order my usual, can't wait, my mouth is watering just thinking about it........

100% Pasadena. This place has Pasadena charm smothed all over it. If you haven't been here before, dont expect your typical restaurant experience. You come to A.A. Seafood for one reason and one reason only... crab, crab, and more crabs. Don't wonder what side you are going to have with your crab, because its just more crab. Literally, I think they have some maccaroni salad, but I am pretty sure it doesn't get ordered often. I'm a bit of a health nut, and I have to have my veg with dinner, so I can't officially say that I "Like It", but that is the biggest, best, and (surprisingly) cheapest Maryland crab cake I have ever seen, so I definitely can't say I Don't Like It either.

Love it. I've been going here since I was 3 with my father and now that I'm 23 this is still my seafood "go to" place. Great food and great service equals for a great time and meal!

The food and service are incomparable. But it is kookie to have to pay once for the raw bar/steamer area and another time for the other food. Needs just one place to pay for all.

Best place I have ever been to if I could I would go every night

This is by far the best seafood market around! Cold beer and perfectly cooked seafood. Fried, grilled or steamed!!! Great atmosphere with indoor and outdoor seating. It is a mustfor any occasion. Don't be fooled by local wannabies on ft. Smallwood.
