Udupi Dosa Corner

Food was mediocre, very oily and dry compared to other Indian restaurants in the area. Not a whole lot of selections on buffet especially for the price they charge. I asked for water for my beverage and was given a very puzzled look as if the server was mad that I only drink water, and then I seemed like a bother when I asked for a refill of water. Usually a place makes up for lack luster service with good food, or lack luster food with good service, neither fit the bill I am sorry to say. The person changing the buffet was snorting/clearing his sinus' while carrying the pan to buffet, (That was a stomach turning moment) When I went to wash my hands in the men's room it had no hot water, and not to mention a very dirty men's room that needs updated. I have worked in the restaurant industry in fine dining (while I don't know everything) I do know that I would not recommend Udupi Dosa. This place has changed names so many times, I never know what it will be next week, it was Udapi, then something else Biryani Corner? then it was another name, then another, now Udupi Dosa Corner? I would be curious if there is something going on with owners/building owners, and management that they need to change names and ownership. Maybe managers should take a visit to other restaurants and learn a thing or two on service. I am never this hostile when it comes to reviews, because I know that stuff happens, but clearly this place is not in the practice of a great dining experience and clearly not serious about it's guests. Get it together we wanted to give you another chance! Perhaps with the next name you choose, you will make it a better experience, Perhaps a visit by Gordon Ramsay would help?

Food is fantastic, prices are reasonable, there are lot of options, and many of them vegan. The server was very knowledgable about what had dairy in it, so we had no trouble at all ordering vegan. We had Vegetable Samosas, Baingan Bartha, Batura, Masala Dosa, Special Rava Masala Dosa, and Vegetable Uthappam. It was all delicious, presented well, and served hot. My only complaints would be that the menu isn"t marked for vegan items and our server left us for an unusually long time after appetizers and before taking our order. The service issue wasn't that big of a deal in the end because the food came out so fast and the service was otherwise fantastic.

To run a veg restaurant in Udupi is difficult due to the sheer number of such establishments and kind of crowd. Hence, it is very hard to find an restaurant serving decent south india and chinese fare let alone a good one. We had heard about udapi dosa corner and their restaurant in Cleveland is quite popular among people I know. With all the back ground and expectations, I paid a visit with my wife to see if this lived upto the expectation and we weren't disappointed at all. Price - I was surprised by the prices, they are priced cheaper then similar establishments. And they offer more choice and better ambience. $9.99 lunch buffet is cheap and wednesdays 5-9 unlimited Dosa.

We have ordered Uthapam, Dosa, Vada and Mysore Bonda with lot of excitement tonight But much to our experience the quality of food was absolutely worst... The Vada and Mysore Bonda were just not fried properly, was hard and it was tasting bitter not sure why??? Also the chutneys which was given by was too bad to eat for.. The Mysore masala dosa was just having masala stuffed nothing specified to Mysore masala.. Uthappam were ok... In total one of the worst experience of food and total money waste.. Sorry about it..
