Driving thru on our way back home to Baudette and needed some breakfast found this place on Google we hit it at a busy time but the food was so worth the wait. We raise our own beef, chicken and yes eggs so when the menu said Farm Fresh eggs I told my hubby we stopped at the right place. We both ordered the Veggie omelette with melted Gouda cheese and hash browns and a side order of peppered bacon wow was it great! We will stop again and try something different. The service was very good even though it busy and the atmosphere was warm.
Every time I stop I receive fantastic service and wonderful food! The Good Life has a nice little tap selection, great wine, and awesome cocktails. Without a doubt my favorite place in Park Rapids!
Ate here for the first time today and we already can’t wait to go back! Not only was the food delicious (we tried the Thai PB burger and Gouda bacon Mac n cheese ) but the atmosphere was cool and cozy and the staff was really very friendly
So I stumbled across this place and loved it! My server was awesome. Upon discovering I was traveling, she was quick to give me the full positive experience of the restaurant! Definitely reccomend and will be stopping again when I come back though.
Fantastic cafe with a friendly staff and welcoming environment. Very good coffee, quick and cheap food items, and a fantastic local beer list. A must stop.
We stopped in on vacation, fun atmosphere, sat at the bar, (maybe you get better service there)..we had no issues with service or food. It was super good! The PB thai burger had kick!..yummy bloody mary too!
There food is fresh and homemade. The services was excellent. I highly recommend The Good Life Cafe.
Amazing service and food!! Definitely would recommend.
Great food, excellent service! Isaac was amazing and helped me with an allergy. Great place, fun atmosphere and fantastic staff!!!!
The veggie burger was AhMaZiNg!!!! Service was top notch!
Great food, great atmosphere and amazing staff! My 3 year old chatted or waiter's ear off and he just smiled and chatted with her without any kind of annoyance.
Amazing food and fun staff. You will not be disappointed in your experience.
There were four of us and everything was very tasty. We got there around 4 thinking they closed early only to find we had to order lunch instead of dinner. The server was very friendly. We would go back in a heart beat. Best sweet potato fries I've ever had. The root vegetable soup was delicious. Not one of us had anything to complain about.
I love their soft pretzels with gouda, most of the entrees are delicious. However, the bacon has pepper on it and the taste is very strong.
Pleasant surprise. I travel extensively for work, and hit the Park Rapids area about 6-8 times a year. I haven't had the best dining experiences in the area, but tonight was one of those moments when you feel like you've found a hidden treasure. I asked the hotel clerk where her favorite place to eat in town was, and she said, "Good Life Cafe!' without missing a beat. This was the first I had heard of the place. I'm glad I went with her recommendation! I started with a nice Jameson cocktail (didn't expect a great wine and beer list, let alone top shelf liquor choices). The Southwest Corn and Black Bean soup had was a great starter! The Chipotle Pork Medallions with roasted red pepper mashed potatoes was excellent. I was pleased to find that the pork wasn't your flavorless commodity pork you can find in the grocery store. Great pork flavor and not overcooked like most restaurants do. The honey chipotle glaze had a nice touch of heat, was not overly sweet (which I had feared it would be), and complimented the pork nicely. The mashed potatoes had great flavor (lacked a bit of salt, but that was easily remedied). The side veggies of snap peas and carrots were blanched to perfection, leaving them with a great snap, not the over steamed and mushy excuse for vegetables you find elswhere.
The space was comfortable (maybe a bit bright for dinner), but the service was excellent! I think I would best describe it as hospitality. Being a restaurant guy, this is something that can't be trained- it was just natural.
Thank you for giving a road warrior an excellent dining experience. This is my new dining spot in Park Rapids!
YUM. I live in suburban Wash D.C. but visit my hometown of Park Rapids at least yearly. I have eaten here four or five times and have never been disappointed. I love that there is an emphasis on local food. I had the veggie patty/burger in November and LOVED it - delicious!!
My family, 12 in all, called for a reservation on a Saturday afternoon. We were easily accommodated and, when we arrived 20 minutes early, were immediately seated. Our server was fr
Nice eclectic atmosphere and menu with decent beer selection for the area. Food disappointed us somewhat. Still a welcome alternative to typical "up north" food and mentality.
Really cute cozy café for lunch or dinner! We tried the baked spinach artichoke dip and sweet chili riblets as appetizers, all excellent. The turkey club, Cuban sandwich and walleye BLT were awesome. Great service and interesting beer selection. We will be back!
Ricky's turkey avacado BLT and steak fries were amazing. My noodle bowl, on the other hand, was disgusting. It was clearly made from a packet of ramen noodles.. which would be fine...but the broth was so salty that the dish was inedible.
