Schlotzsky's

Okay, so I frequent my hometown Schlotzky's for lunch often and am a Schlotzsky's rewards member. We stopped here passing through town on vacation and unfortunately I have to say that this is probably the worst Schlotzsky's experience I've ever had. First, I wasn't even greeted by the employee who took my order. In fact, I can't recall her saying anything to me at all except to put my credit card into the machine the other way. Not once did she ever make eye contact with me. She literally was on her cell phone reading text messages while I was giving her my family's order. That was a first for me. I mean, I just couldn't believe it. But what I couldn't believe more was that we did get our order correctly as I tend to customize my deluxe original just a little and it's often messed up (generally speaking.). Anyhow, a lot of the soda was empty in the machine, and there was no iced tea available. So what made this visit worse was the western sun beaming through the windows on you like fire. It was so darn hot in there, my family was sweating, and I felt like I was getting a sunburn. Man, get some shades for those windows! I couldn't imagine what I'd be like in there in the middle of summer. We had to wet paper towels from the bathroom and wipe down a table to sit and eat because I felt like I would be an inconvenience to ask them to clean a table for us.

Rhis place can be pretty good, if you're looking for healthy options, they can just be pretty expensive. I got a full salad, however and it was huge for the huge price tag they put on it. They were pretty good about minimal plastic waste, I just wish I had known they would give me my salad dressing in a plastic disposable cup, otherwise I would have specified differently. I don't like to create extra waste to pollute the earth when I don't have to :(. In a previous experience, we have ordered water from them, trying to opt for something cheaper, and they rung up expensive water bottles for us. Not happy that time. :(

July2021 had a terrible experience here today. The soup and sandwich were barely warm. The soup was they're broccoli and cheddar and it was very thin and watery. The side salad wasn't much to talk about either. For the price paid it was not a very good lunch at all. It will be a long time before I go back.
