A small location, but they carry a wide selection of high quality chocolate. The owner makes sure that the chocolate stocked here is produced with ethical labor practices and is environmentally sustainable. You can taste chocolate you are interested in. A great spot to try new chocolate!
A co-worker brought me to the chocolate garage on a Wednesday, and on Saturday I was back and buying a membership. I'm a big fan of the community fostered at the chocolate garage - there are always interesting people to talk to and cool things to learn. I've brought about 10 friends to the chocolate garage since I joined and almost all of them loved it. The space was recently re-designed and looks great!
A group of us visited the Chocolate Garage as part of a team offsite. Sunita did a wonderful job of educating us on various aspects of chocolate and then setting up a chocolate tasting. The chocolate was AWESOME, and her mission to foster education and support "happy chocolate" is great. If you're in the Bay Area, you should definitely check out the Chocolate Garage. We will be back.
The owner is extremely friendly and knowledgeable about all the chocolate she offers. Bars of chocolate from many small, independent manufacturers are available; they are expensive but worth it!
I learned several things about chocolate that I didn't know, and I actually studied chocolate academically a while ago! The chocolates we tasted were truly splendid, and the garage itself is very cute.
We went along to a chocolate sampling evening – a small, but interesting selection of chocolates from lesser-known manufacturers. Just so you're not surprised: it's not particularly big. It's literally a garage.
The Chocolate Garage is a unique place. I have enjoyed many wonderful chocolates here - my current favorites are from Patric - both in tastings and at home.
