Review Don Peppe's - Ozone Park

I simply just love Italian cuisine and my friend suggested that I try this restaurant because it’s old school! I loved the food, the spaghetti and shrimp sauce was really good and well as the Don Pepe chicken! Only reason I gave 4 stars, the service was horrible, the waiter didn’t introduce himself, we are yet to know his name, there was a wait for my food, my significant other received his food before I did! We just wanted to get out, I did even wanted to get dessert! He pretty much just ghosted us! Had to sit and wait 15 mins to get the check, but very present to receive his tip!

Always perfect!!! This has been my family’s favorite spot since I was a child. I take everyone who hasn’t been here, here! It’s the absolute best. You will NEVER find better linguini and white clam sauce, anywhere. House red wine is also amazing & the baked clams are literally exquisite. Don Peppe is a MUST!

Love this restaurant! My favorite Italian spot in NYC, and usually order the same 3 dishes every time because they are so good lol gotta order the baked clams, their linguine with clam sauce is the best I've ever had, and the veal Don Peppe is delicious! Chicken parm was also good, but nothing out of the ordinary compared to other places. You can't really go wrong with any of their dishes, but these are my must get to 3 choices. The tomahawk steak looked good too, and we will try it one of these days. Desserts are also good too, as we tried several sorbet flavors - coconut, lemon and orange. Only wish it was closer to where I live, so I could go more often!

Want to give a shoutout to Alex, who served us tonight. His service was absolutely outstanding and we really appreciated it. Also, the linguine with clam sauce is simply amazing! We've always had outstanding service here and it's great for groups. The family-style dining adds to the wonderful experience. Thank you for consistently providing excellent service!

This is my favorite Italian restaurant. Best food and great service. Cash only. Family style. Plates are made for 4. You can get a plate and half to feed 6 if needed. Prices are what you would expect for good food.

This restaurant unquestionably serves the best linguine and white clam sauce. Highly recommend it, as no other establishment compares. The pasta is cooked perfectly Al dente, and the clams with white clam sauce are flawless. I would definitely recommend this spot to anyone seeking the finest Italian cuisine in the area.

Great Italian amesphere! Large portions, but all wonderfully delicious! Fantastically simple, but refreshing salad, pastas were so flavorful that we couldn't stop eating. The fried veal was outstanding, love the tomato toppings.

Everybody raves about this place. I lived and worked near here for over 50 years and never went. Finally got here and the food was very good, but the service was horrible. The waiter couldn't care less. Fortunately, there were some other staff that took up some of his slack, but we waited forever to have our order taken and for any water refills. It wasn't that busy either. I'll probably be back, the food was that good, maybe the service thing was an anomaly.

Had to drop off at JFK, and it took over 3 hours from Philly, and going back was worse. I decided to find a place to eat so the traffic would thin out. So, I found this place on Google. The food was very good. I had Shrimp Luciano with pasta. It is family style, so what they brought to the table was for two. It didn't matter. I enjoyed it, and I had some to take home. I will definitely go again if I am there at dinner time.

Still the best! Yep, best Italian food around! Family style and straightforward. No fancy wine lists here, but boy is it great! Got to try the shrimp Luciano with linguine, stuffed clams, mussels white and red sauce, and chicken don Peppe! And yes, even the house wine is delicious! When your 12 years old tells you they love everything here even the onion you know it’s good!
Hey Doug!
Only had time for a quick bite but everything was good here. Staff were attentive but not intrusive. The veal was well cooked and the tomato bruschetta type topping was delicious. Portions are family style and size. Would definitely come back to try other dishes.

Just LOVE Don Peppe!! While they don't take reservations, Mike made sure we were set for my son's birthday. The service was excellent on top of delicious dishes.

Don Peppe's is the real deal when it comes to old-school great Italian experience. Thank you to everyone and especially Alexander (our waiter), for a great meal with my wife.

Friendly staff and spacious restaurant. I hear they have lines out the door on weekends. We came on a Tuesday at 8:30pm and got seated straight away. My favorite dishes were the shrimp spaghetti (sauce was sooooo flavorful) and the lemon ice. It’s a lemon sorbet served inside a hollowed lemon. It’s sweet and tangy and the perfect ending to the meal.

Best. Italian. Food. Ever. End of story. Family sized portions. Always a to-go bag. Yum, yum, yum. Can't wait to make the 2 hour trip again.

I absolutely love this restaurant. Service is excellent as always and the food by far the best Italian food I have tried. The portions are family size . Plenty extra for the next day. My server is always lovely he makes our dining a sure pleasure and delight. I love that it's wheelchair accessible. Pop's is 97 and loves to dine there. Kudos to the amazing staff and of course the chef .

Italian-American Family Style Red Sauce Platters. Don Peppe is a throwback restaurant where southern Italian fare reigns. The tomato gravy is nonstop and never ending, except for the linguine in white clam sauce or spaghetti with olive oil and garlic. Still, this is southern Italian cuisine. The bread keeps coming as you soak up the gravy.
We were a foursome who ordered the fried eggplant appetizer with gravy on the side, as it is served at Don Peppe. Next were the zuppa di clams with the requisite gravy to make the "soup". Then, we followed with linguine with the white clam sauce. Rounding out the entrées was Veal Don Peppe, fried and breaded veal cutlets covered with raw tomato cubes and raw cubed onion pieces. Do not forget the red house wine to accompany your feast.
The plates are humongous and we wiped everything up. We followed with two pistachio tartufos among us. My spouse and I finished with our usual macchiatos. One of our dining partners had a glass of espresso with a generous anisette serving in a separate glass. What was not poured in the espresso, my wife finished off.
Overall, Don Peppe provides a memorable meal.

Authentic Italian food without driving into Little Italy. The sauces are superb, chunks of tomato in every spoonful. Linguini and white clam sauce is amazing. Desserts are heavenly. Home made wine compliments the meal. Not to be missed!!

End of the World Eh??. Whenever the futures are down 20 and I feel like it's the enda the world, I grab my ballz, buy some SPY'S and head over to Don Peppe's with Quinn Albert and the rest of my crew. We toss down 4 or 5 bottles of wine and a few plates of linguini with beef braciole. Then I give my wife the braciole when I get home if you know what I mean. But seriously, turn off your screens, leave your wires at home and go to Don Peppe's, they treat you right!

Had to wait forever to get a table on it seemed to me you only got seated if you were "connected"

...platters of baked clams, stuffed mushrooms, ziti, veal and chinese chicken and brocolli and tartuffo and cappacino and a sense that you are in another dimension...the house wines are $18@bottle ,not a glass, and you will find the love of the crowd you lead there. But be warned ...if like me you really wanted to talk to all your friends or snap photos of the lush linguini in clam sauce there is no time to talk and you cannot snap fast enough.

...enjoyed our meal at Don Peppe, appreciating the throwback to old school Italian red-sauce joints, as they’re called. Our server was friendly, chatted with us, helped us with the menu – and he did inform us that we ordered a lot of food, though he didn’t try to stop us. Oh, and we also had a couple of bottles of their house white wine, which was surprisingly delicious – and I mean delicious. It was balanced – neither cloyingly sweet nor too dry for my palate, but just right, and we both liked it a lot. It went really well with the seafood, too.
