I really enjoyed my visit to the Purple Burrito. The food was fantastic and authentic Californian style Mexican. I live out in the St Louis area and there is a restaurant known as Lily's in Tower Grove that is also a Californian Mexican food restaurant and Purple Burrito is equally comparable. I'm a very picky eater and this place is definitely a wonderful find in a small town. It's even better than the Latin American food restaurant in town. So if you're in Ozark Missouri this is the place to go if you want Mexican.

I visited here for the first time for dinner, and ordered a combo plate with a chicken taco and cheese enchilada, and chips/guacamole to go. The service was good, no complaints there. The man was courteous, friendly and personable, and the restaurant itself was very clean (for the upcoming dinner rush, I assume). The price wasn't bad at all, for the portion sizes I got. I admit, it may just be a matter of personal opinion, but I felt the food was rather bland. The tortilla chips were a bit stale (but edible, not too bad), and the guacamole was watery and not well seasoned (again, personal opinion). The rice/beans were just okay, as was the chicken taco. The best item was the cheese enchilada. While I'm not unhappy at all over my experience, I probably won't return.

I finally found a good burrito in my area!
The staff/owners are absolutely delightful people. Their friendly, but calm personality was exactly what we needed today. The dining area is cozy and the window seats are positioned perfectly to allow for a nice view of Ozark from an interesting perspective.
We, of course, had California Burritos on our visit and everything was made perfectly. The portion size was pretty extreme, so bring your appetite.
A 5-Star rating is still justified, though I did have one complaint: the hot sauce tasted kinda “fermented”, but it was very hot. The sweet sauce was okay, but the other two (Verde and Chipotle) were very bland. I have to assume these sauces were made on site and there must have been a mistake on ingredients.
Overall, I was pleasantly surprised by this restaurant and will definitely return. Recommend to anyone tired of the other Mexican style restaurants in the area.

The food is terrific! I’m a native Californian, PB is as good as anywhere I’ve eaten! The staff are kind, helpful and punctual! We’ve been customers for three years, we go at least once a week.

I'm from San Diego, CA. When we moved here 5 years ago I truly thought we would never have a real burrito or taco again... then I met Carlos and Purple Burrito. They are from close by where we lived! It says, "Authentic Southern California Mexican Food" on the sign. It's absolutely true! Love this place!

I ordered online for carryout and it said my order would be ready in about 20-35 minutes to pick up. About 25 minutes later I went to pick up my order and they were still closed at about 12pm when online it says they open at 11 am and that's what it says on the front door. So later on I tried calling and someone answered the first time and then didn't say anything. So I hung up and tried calling again and it kept making a strange noise like they number was disconnected or something. This was the first time my boyfriend and I were going to try purple burrito because it was close, cheap, and seemed pretty good, but after this terrible experience I'm not sure if we'll even try to go there again.

We go every Taco Tuesday. Great street tacos, and you can’t beat the price: one dollar per taco. They are all good, but my favorite are the fish tacos.
