A good burger joint in a busy college town.  Nothing fancy here, just HUGE burgers and cold beer.  Zucchini fries were OK, salads decent.  This place is a fun stop with service upstairs and down.  Expect to wait.....and enjoy the food and fun.

Mac & Joe's is super divey, seems sketchy the first time but is a definite staple of Oxford. Great food, big portions, and an fun vibe! Favorite for sure

First time eating here. Great bar food! Good service. Was a little crowded but they got us a table for 4 in under 10 min. Overall rating is good and I'd eat there again!

Brewskies, they got millions. This place is a HOMESTEAD in this city, I love it. It just has that feeling like im up in Cheers chillin with Woody H jammin to tv show theme songs!

Fish Tacos. I must say, I always wanted to eat fish tacos, but I could never pull the trigger. I decided that Mac & Joes would be the first place I would try them, and I wasn't dissappointed! I've had the wings many, many times and have been extremely satisfied. Anything on the menu is delicious and the service and atmosphere match the food!

Great spot. Grab the deep fried mac & cheese bites, and ask for the wings with teriyaki and chernobyl sauce mixed.

Never a let down. Friends and food go hand in hand like Mac & Joe's. Great food and a cozy setting are how Mac & Joe's wins you over. Service can be slow at times, but M&J's is not known for speed of service, just great tasting dishes. I'd recommend the smokehouse burger (Medium) with either the fries or doughnut size onion rings. Monday night wing night $.35 wings are never a let down.

Really cool!!! Tiny little place at back in the alley. Everything you would imagine a small college town bar and restraunt. Cool local sports kitsch on the walls and more tap handles than I've ever seen on the ceiling. Had the grilled chicken breast sandwich, it was really good. Kid had the Miami Tradition, he said it was so good that I had to steal a bite. The Mrs had the Jammer and said that it was delicious, the bacon jam on it was amazing. Definitely try the house drinks. They're REALLY good.

The best food with the best staff in Oxford! You haven’t really lived if you haven’t eaten here yet.

Was looking for a place that could host a group of 13 with kids and an adult with certain food allergies and my Google peeps came through. It was interesting getting in as we weren't really expecting the main entrance to be in the alley, but it really lent to the atmosphere. It's smaller than I expected but they hosted us no problem. The place has a local pub vibe and I noticed right away the ceiling loaded with old beer taps... it really looks cool! When you walk in you're greeted by a super friendly staff - they're simply ready, willing, and able to give you a warm and enjoyable experience. We ordered fried pickles and Mac and cheese balls to start. The dishes we ordered were varied; BBQ chicken wings, fish tacos, a couple of burgers, and I got the traditional Miami steak sandwich with onion rings. The fried pickles were pretty good and everyone really liked their dishes - especially the burgers! The traditional Miami steak sandwich was really good too. It reminded me of a veal parm sandwich with a little less cheese. It came with a side of onion rings that had a nice flavorful dipping sauce. If I went to college here, this place would have been my "go to". I approve and recommend you pay them a visit!

Very unique restaurant! Not in a traditional location or with a traditional entrance. It didn't seem like parking was close, but it wasn't an issue. Don't let any of those things throw you off though. This a place definitely worth trying. The pickle fries were very good! I also ordered the traditional and wasn't disappointed. There were several things on the menu I would've ordered had it not been my first time and had to try the signature item! I hope I make it back to Oxford again so I can come back!

Beware you will be charged .75 per sauce cup it happened to us without our knowledge regardless I really enjoy their ranch and the Mac and cheese bites were good enough that my friend ordered a second order to go I had a gin and juice and it was pretty good as well as a Philly cheesesteak I'd have again it was a little hard to get service, but it was a Monday later in the day

A local institution, hidden down an alley. Kid friendly if you go early enough. Great food, cool atmosphere, decent beer selection. What more could you want. The beer and wings we had were top notch.

While watching our nephew play hockey we found this little place in Oxford to eat and we are very glad we did. Excellent!! EVERYTHING we ate. We even got the chicken nachos and asked for cheese on half because of an allergy and they were more than happy to accommodate us. The service by Gabe was great. Smallest bathroom I've ever seen them get two stalls in but nothing worse than a restaurant with just one bathroom and a line 😁. We will definitely be eating there again next time we are in the area.

Food was delicious, came here for a post-game meal and found the place charming & quaint. Cozy atmosphere split between two floors, with a cool alley entrance in downtown Oxford. Service was really slow unfortunately, as the restaurant was packed, but otherwise it was a great experience with a filling meal. Definitely one of the more interesting establishments to find in the area!

Stopped in for lunch. Quite. Got a seat right away. Our food came out in minutes. The salads can easily feed two people each. Tasted great.

I’m always on the lookout for my new favorite burger and fries, but I always come back to Mac & Joe’s. They are consistently amazing with some of the best burgers and fries I’ve ever had, and definitely the best in Oxford. If you’re in the mood for a classic American cheeseburger and some of the best crispy, golden fries you’ve ever had, then you have to give Mac & Joe’s a try. Some people complain about the higher price point, but I think it’s perfectly reasonable to pay about $15 for a quality burger. You’ll get your money’s worth, that’s for sure. Of course, if all you want is a full stomach then there’s always McD’s. But if you care about eating REAL, whole food, give Mac & Joe’s a chance. You won’t regret it. Also, I don’t drink so I can’t comment on the beer selection other than it’s wide and varied. Plenty of options. Now if only they were on Doordash!

The seemingly questionable entrance in an alleyway only adds to the charm. The food selection is great - the mac & cheese bites and turkey gobbler sandwich are my go to options. The beer selection is awesome, and make sure to look up for a pretty cool display of tap handles!

Burgers huge! And the appetizers were great. Would eat there again. From the outside looks like a hole in the wall, but inside lots of character and pub feel.

The Avocado and Bacon Burger is exceptional! The others in my group had different meals that were equally good.

Service was solid, but the food took forever to come out and was just ok. Over 30 minutes for 2 entrees. Avoid the nachos, mac bites are great.
