They're currently open Thursday through Sunday so we got in a visit our first night here at Otter Crest since it won't be open the rest of our stay here. My husband had the ribs and said they're the best he's had yet. Son had the fish and chips, daughter and I shared the clam strips, and we all had the crab and shrimp pizza (which was amazing!) The service was great. We enjoyed our visit here. Prices were good too.

I ordered a burger which turned out to be double smashburger patties without being described as such. So of course it was overcooked.
I'll try pizza next time.

I've been coming to the Inn at Otter Crest for 35 or so years because my family has a timeshare here. I remember coming to The Flying Dutchman (which it was originally named) with my grandparents for special dinners. The new proprietors have done a decent job of keeping the place going. Last time I visited was 5 years ago and they were open for breakfast which we took advantage of a few times. Now they are only open 4 nights a week for dinner only. I get it, it's off the beaten path and hard to get butts in seats.
We decided to get take out on Thurs night, which is prime rib night. I took a chance on the special and I was pleasantly surprised. The prime was cooked to perfection and delicious, as was my wife's burger and my daughters grilled cheese (which I ended up eating most of). I believe it's the same owners from 5 years ago, and I believe it's the same guy cooking that was doing breakfast then. He knows what's up, you can tell when someone cooks a grilled cheese how experienced they are. I've been a pro chef for 20 years and I can see (and taste) the skill. It was excellent, and I hope they are still going strong when we visit next time.
I came with my family to celebrate my 60th birthday and I did not have plans so it was just a last minute decision. We decided to eat at this restaurant on the resort and we were pleasantly surprised. Matt took great care of us. The food was so delicious! The cocktail were made to perfection! My husband and I travel all over the world so we dine at find restaurants, we would highly recommend this venue. Thank Matt for making my birthday so memorable.
Very happy to see them open again for in house dining (not just takeout). We really like their pizza. They have specials running again. The Albacore Tuna, Ribs, and the ribeye steaks were delicious. Possibly the best grilled asparagus I've ever had. Full bar as well. Not inexpensive but no more expensive than any other nicer restaurants we frequent. We spend a week here at Otter Crest every 3 months and enjoy having dining available. We always try to have their food at least once or twice during our stays. Keep up the good work.
As the bride who held my wedding at this incredible location, I can't express how perfect it was! The ocean backdrop was breathtaking, and the cost was reasonable. The service was top-notch, and the food was a hit with our guests. Special thanks to James for being so responsive and accommodating during the planning process. Highly recommend this venue for an unforgettable wedding experience!
We recently had dinner at Spyglass for my mother in law’s 60th celebration. The food was outstanding including the cocktails, service was super friendly and the atmosphere was nice with a view of the ocean. Would highly recommend grabbing a bite to eat here!
We had a good lunch in the lounge, really good clam strips. Lovely view and good staff. They just took over so I expect it will get better and better. We were early, that's why there's no one in the pictures.
We went for dinner thinking it would be pizza and burgers - WOW what a surprise! I had the cod fish & chips - they batter their own and it was amazing. Fam member 1 had the ribs and they were the best bbq ribs we've eaten in ages. Fam member 2 tried the BLT and it was so good, the bacon is honeyed and kind of carmelized and smoky. Tried a specialty drink - fresh squeezed citrus, so yummy. The food was excellent, the service was so friendly and the bar/seating area is freshly remodeled and super fun. Oh - and probably the BEST view on the Oregon coast AND they have binoculars at the table. Highly recommend.
We ate here for New Year’s Eve dinner, and while we didn’t order any headline specials, crab cakes or prime rib, we did enjoy the fresh onion soup. This soup contained gobs of cheese and traces of onion. Our veggie pizza tasted nice, cooked throughout and fresh. Small dining area, intimate atmosphere with wait staff (singular service member did everything) although a pleasant view of the Pacific quelled issues. Final thought, if you live nearby or are a visitor at Otter Crest’s wondrous resort, stop by and try Spyglass, you might find a nook that pleases you, but I would not recommend trekking a far way just to experience the food itself.
