Oz Kafe

The ambience and food was truly delicious! The pork tenderloin.. one of the best dish I’ve had in a while, everything on that plate was very very delicious. i especially loved the corn. The cocktail, and the appetizer were also nice. The servers were friendly, and I can definitely see myself visiting here again.

Starting off positive : great spot and very cozy! Also on point: appetizers. I had the Nordic shrimp my partner had the beet and pear salad. Both were top-notch. The mains however didn’t fare nearly as well. The seared trout had good flavours with only the inkling of being cooked. Cornish hen was nicely done at the accompanying vegetables and gratin could have used more oomph. Presentation and food temperature were both very good. The service started out strong however began to deteriorate throughout the meal. We sat for 20+ minutes after completing our meals without a single check in by any staff. If we had better service that was consistent throughout the experience I’d be able to rate the OZ Kafe better.

Nice back alley restaurant. Reserved in advance for indoor and they contacted us to upgrade us to outdoor after an opening. We had two cheeses and three charcuteries (rilette, terrine, lamb sausage), Spanish white wine and a strawberry tartelette. Wine was great and paired well with our platter. Cheddar was very nice and lightly strong. Meats were nice, especially the terrine and pickled veggies. Would appreciate a bit of fresh bread with them instead of just crispy crosstinis. Strawberry tart crust was way too thick (while fully cooked); we expected the tart to fly off the plate every time we tried to cut it (we don't eat with our hands).

The atmosphere, staff and proprietors make this dining experience well above expectations. It was a very relaxed experience and the tastes were very well orchestrated and paired with each plate from the starters to the main course. The service was attentive but subtle in our dining pleasure. Will be making this a regular occurrence.

My husband and I were looking forward to a nice dinner. We chose this restaurant based on location and reviews. Unfortunately we were very disappointed in the food. The cauliflower garlic soup we ordered was lukewarm. The trout dinner was lukewarm. Half the trout was raw. The carrots could barely be cut through and had too much salt. The beef dinner was lukewarm. The wait staff was pleasant. While we were offered free desserts which we were not interested in and then given a free glass of wine, it was disappointing that the manager did not come to talk to us about the food coming out of his kitchen. Will never go back and would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.
