Cortney was my Server (& my first introduction to the restaurant via the phone), and Rich was a Bartender I believe, but acted as my second bit of exposure (when I called back the second time), & the gentleman I chatted with like old Friends when I walked in. Love him. Both had great energy. Cortney was totally child-sensitive, and pescatarian / gluten free - friendly. And the menu was good enough. We decided to be a bit on the naughty, & eat some of the fried calamari (omg, amazing delicious), the grilled calamari spinach salad (delicious), the mushroom fries (a bit too hard, imo - although I love portabello mushrooms), and a pasta (for our child) with the most generous serving of fresh sauteed vegetables - something we always order on the side, as we are vegetarians who actually love vegetables. The energy of the patio (where we sat) was great, the crowd was, too - including the 120 pound Lucy Dog who I loved up. And the decor was slick and sexy - without being pretentious at all - still totally small town and full of friendliness. My Partner loved the music, btw- and we all had a really lovely evening. If and when we come from Chicago to visit any of the State Parks again in the future - we'll definitely return (& I hardly repeat places when traveling). Tons of love!- enjoy! :-)

We used C230 for the Child Welfare Guild's holiday party and had a fabulous evening. The cocktail hour with delicious appetizers was amazing. The sit-down meal (with salad & dessert) was wonderful. C230's ambiance was just perfect for a holiday party. Katie, Nicole & Tony were all so cheery & festive and great to put up with our rowdy group of 35 people! I worked with Katie on the planning of this party & it was a piece of cake! The price was very reasonable for such a great meal! Thank You Katie Ryba for making it a painless process to plan. I'd highly recommend to anyone looking for a place to hold a party to have it at C230! :)

Just a little inconspicuous corner building in an old part of downtown Ottawa, Illinois yields some of the best cuisine! My wife's idea to "check out" this place called Corner 230 following some shopping in Ottawa. We planned a 4pm early dinner. Entering the restaurant, there was only one table occupied. My apprehension increased, as that would never be expected on a Saturday afternoon in Ottawa. We were greeted by a your lady server who showed us to a table in another room adjacent to the bar area. Long story short...our service and meal were both fantastic. We started off the experience with wonderfully made caprese salad. Absolutely perfect...even if the tomatoes in Illinois this time of year are usually less than ideal. I enjoyed an Italian pasta dish while my wife enjoyed one of their specialty sandwiches. And although we didn't partake, the liquor/drink selection seemed to be amazing.
Don't let the lack of prominence in the community discourage you from enjoying Corner 230. Everything was wonderful. We'll make it a point to return.
The Blue Cheese Steak pasta is the best pasta dish I have ever had. Truly an amazing surprise!
The cook/chef is from Chicago or learned his cooking in Chicago Restaurants. There is not one dish you can order that you will have anything to complain about. All dishes delicious. Service is great. Loved it. Definitely recommend it.
The food was excellent! Great seafood, and chicken options. The service was very good along with the friendliness of the staff. We live an hour away but we will be back to eat here!
Food was beyond delicious! They even stage the food to look fancy. We (group of 4) ordered the toasted raviolis. You get 6, we needed more so we put in a second order haha. Prices are reasonable. Easy place to take a group where someone may not want to spend a lot or where some may not mind how much they spend. They also have fun drinks! Great place to go after work with the girls. You do not have to dress up, but it's more classy. Definitely going back!
A great little place for dinner date night or a nice lunch out!
Food was great! Wished the patio was better shaded. We decided to sit inside, it was noisy a bit. Staff was friendly!
