A-aki Sushi & Steakhouse

One of our favorite sushi places, and when we have family/friends come into town, we always take them to A-Aki. We have not tried the newer KBBQ, so I can’t comment on that. But their sushi deals are great and their bento boxes are awesome. They are my happy place, and also have some of the best crab rangoons in town. Also their presentation is really great too! Makes eating more fun. They also make quality drinks if you have looking for a drink with your meal!

Today Sunday the restaurant has an advertising sign, "All you can eat" lunch special in the sidewalk in front of the restaurant, but apparently not on Sunday! The poor server couldn't get our orders straight despite him writing it down at first. We had to ask for water several times, and still he wasn't getting it. Our food/order came wrong, and even after asking (for example) for the fried rice we had to remind him. Ask for (pickled) ginger, and he didn't know what that was.

***Updated*** (increased rating) As a fluke I decided to give this place another shot, brought someone who had never been her and it was a completely different experience. I am not sure if we lucky or caught them at the right time but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. The food, presentation and service were all done well. We enjoyed our experience and time here. **Update - lowered rating. This places customer service next to none. Management is totally obvious and unfriendly. When you walk in 1st off no one is there in the front reception area, after finally waiting for several minutes, you are asked not greeted by an Asian man, with an attitude like your bothering them and he's doing you a favor. As other patrons walk in after me, we are all told to wait, in a fairly small area, nevertheless with no other communication or update during this time. After 15-20 minutes of waiting he then proceeds to come out and offer the next open table to the family who walked in last, some 10 min after myself and the couple right after me. They politely decline stating that there were others ahead of them, he then offers the table to the other patrons, no not myself the one who walked in 1st and no one else was there yet. After stating I was here 1st and the other patrons agreeing he rebuttals with something about my table not being ready yet.. I promptly walked out vowed to never return after wasting half our of my time. This is not the 1st time I experienced this behavior and attitude from this gentlemen and or management. They quickly forget we are the customers and paying for the experience as well as the food. I've tried but had it with this place, it is not worth my time and there are plenty of other sushi places around that will get my business and money. When I dine in for sushi, I spare no expense and gladly spend on it, as seen in all my other photos and reviews. This establishment clearly has bad management and doesn't understand the value of good customer service. Readers and followers you have been warned** Nice setting and ambiance. The sushi was good and they have a large selection of rolls. Service was friendly and attentive. Their hibachi tables are also quite popular but I did not do hibachi.
