Review P&d Soulfood Kitchen - Orlando

I grew up in South Georgia so I've had a lot of experience with soul food. This is probably one of the best tasting and most authentic places I've had since I moved to Florida it is true home cooking. The selection has a variety of foods from country fried steak, to oxtail stew, to fried catfish. Along with an assortment of sides. I got the fried catfish with collard greens and rutabaga (which I was thrilled to see both sides as they aren't common at restaurants). The catfish was the best I've had in years and the collards and rutabaga are better than I've had at any other restaurant. I also tasted my girlfriend's oxtail and it was amazing as well. The people here are so friendly as well and go above and beyond for service. They are super polite and fun to talk with and will bring your good out to you when you're ready. The seating at the place is a bit limited as it seems they primarily service takeaway orders , but there are a couple of tables and several chairs if you'd like to eat on site. Parking is a little limited looking but I had no trouble parking and I don't know how busy the place normally gets but I had no trouble parking Saturday afternoon. If you're looking for a true Southern home cooked meal you absolutely should go here and if you've never had this kinda cooking you need to go here and experience it !

Everyone working was pleasant helpful and welcoming. Fast service and the food is amazing, seasoned well. If you are thinking about eating here don’t hesitate

Pros: First of all the food was terrific. I mean of course it was expensive but hey for good food I'll pay a little extra. Plus when you add inflation and everything else seems about reasonable. Keep up the good work. Cons: After my order was made the lady blurred out did I wanna make a tip ..Of course this caught me off guard because normally they have a receipt they hand you and if you wanna make a tip you give it back with the updated amount. I was blindsided because it was my first time coming there. Anyway I told her no thanks. I don't wanna feel force to tip anyone.

Food was very well prepared I went with a bunch of coworkers and we sampled all kinds of food. The turkey wings are a must I enjoyed mine with Mac and cheese greens and dressing. The price point in today’s economy was beautiful and the location has so much atmosphere. Cornbread was on point to beef short ribs were bussin. 🔥 🔥 🔥

The beef short ribs were not playing! Prices aren't posted clearly so be ready to spend but honestly it was worth it.

As I’m on my quest for who got the best fried chicken in Florida … I Ordered 2 orders of 3pc fried chicken wings and a side of Mac n Cheese. The full wings were fried good, but I expected a lil more flavor on the wings. I think what would bring this out a little more is some light seasoning on top of the wings once they come out the oil to drain. The Mac n cheese was ok. It didn’t have as much flavor as expected. Which can be easily resolved with some more salt n pepper. It did have a great amount of cheese as you can see from the pic. I’m not sure what type of cheese was used but sharp cheddar cheese may help with adding some of the saltiness which limits having to add regular salt. I’m sure they have a lot of other great options on the menu. But today was strictly about fried chicken and the go to side that go hand n hand with fried chicken.

I ❤️ LOVE this place! They're always friendly, smiling, and helpful. The food is always tasty, fresh, and seasoned perfectly! It's take-out only, which isn't that bad. You can also call ahead if you don't want to wait in line.

Absolutely delicious, do yourself a favor and eat here! We are visiting from out of town and will definitely be making this a stop whenever we are back but absolutely amazing. So good!

The food was soooo good. My boyfriend brought me here and it’s now my favorite soul food restaurant in Orlando. T-Th they have a special. I’m greedy and I want everything but It managed to still fill me up. I’ll be here as often as I can.

This is a hidden gem in the Carver Shores neighborhood of Orlando, Florida. This is not a sit in, but strictly take out restaurant. While small, the place was super clean and the staff helpful, sense of humor and cheery. The food appears to be cooked daily and they do have lunch specials. I tried the oxtails, greens, yellow rice and mac and cheese. It was tasteful, sticky and delicious. I got a piece of sweet potato pie and unfortunately, it was not to my liking. Leaving five stars, because I came for the main food not the dessert. A bit pricey, but worth it. Will I be back? Rumor has it that the turkey legs and wings are to die for! So, yeah I’ll definitely stop at least once or twice a month. Stop in for a takeout of soul food goodness!

Yoooo! Ima say this…if u livin in the 407/321 area and haven’t tried this place, u sleep!!! Service was very home feeling and helpful! First time visit and I can’t lie, the cook was right…the oxtail plate was next level! We live in the 352 and the plates were def worth the trip!!! I’m not gone go on and on but just say the cook was right! We’ll be back next weekend! I got the large oxtail plate. The mrs got the large turkey wing plate! Flavor…winning!!! Oh my gosh This soul food is delicious remind you of my great grandma's mac and cheese the old fashioned way I'm not really into the soupy Velveeta type Mike and cheese with The top cheese baked it reminds me of Kraft or your basic box brand If I wanted that I would just cook it myself I straight out the box put some cheese on top and throw it in the oven I love the old-fashioned mac and cheese that's creamy enough to wear the cheese as much as always through and more on the dryer then wet baked mac and cheese 🧀 answer my account you can cut a square lol like Grandma used to make the turkey wings oh my God are delicious they even have carrots in the turkey wing juice and I tell you the carers are soaked seasoned through with the juice of the turkey wings oh how delicious they have meatloaf and a smothered chicken and fried chicken and all types of goodies pork chops smothered pork chops sirloin steak smothered and I believe they also have chillings on certain days if you're a real country buff that likes All parts of the pig including pig feet You just have to go there and check them out I'm telling you they are delicious You will never not want to stop going there there are two other soul food restaurants that I visit from time to time If I can't make it to this location or I'm just too far away at the time and have the taste for soul food and no I won't make it before they close even though they do have pretty good late hours but as usual I think they're closed on Tuesdays or Mondays as a usual soul food restaurant why I don't know I'm not going to look this up is it a tradition or is it something ancestral that the soul food restaurant are closed certain days doing the early week I don't know but I wish they were open 7 days a week, gospel soul food restaurant out there are all cheaper or a little more in the price and give you a huge ton of food on the plate. Which is good but I'm telling you guys now they're good also but they are not putting a foot or finger on the taste of this place so give it a try trust me y'all love it the price is worth every last dime.

This was my first time coming here and the food was great. I ordered yellow rice with oxtails, green beans and cabbage. It came with cornbread. For the drink I got sweet tea. The oxtails was overly good, tender, and falls right off the bone. The sweet tea is wayyyyyy better than McDonald's sweet tea!! Give this place this a try!!

Excellent ! First time trying the pigs feet and loved them! The yams were my second favorite and the owner gave us the BEST customer service and hospitality! 💕

I ordered the smothered cube steak, yellow rice, collard greens and dressing. For dessert, I ate the red velvet cake. The food was amazing and well seasoned. I especially loved the service because I was given a small taste of the items I wanted to order. The ladies catered to me and my husband's needs. I applaud them for their hospitality. I challenge you if you are in Orlando and looking for soul food, this is a must stop.

This place is tucked away in an indoor mall type setting. The owners P & D (and their staff) are warm & friendly. I didn't like is the grey bottom on the whiting. It caused the fish to have a fishy taste. And the sour cream pound cake didn't have much flavor. Other than that the food is good & filling with nice size portions. I will return on my next trip to Orlando.

All-around the best soul food restaurant I've ever been to. Oxtails, dressing, mac and cheese, and most importantly, collard greens ON POINT. Sweet tea so sweet you can feel the diabetes kick in. These folks know how to do it. Good enough to make grandma jealous. Plus, the staff were funny and kind. Love, love, love this place!!!!

My family and I were visiting from Virginia and stopped by soul food kitchen for dinner. Best decision ever! The food was amazing. We shared a variety of the fried fish ( whiting ) and shrimp, fried pork chops, oxtails, chicken, and the various sides they had to offer. It was all wonderful! Anyone looking for some good soul food, please stop by here! Excellent food, excellent people, excellent service!!

Today was my first and last visit to P&D soul food kitchen the food was horrible I cant identify the rice and the green beans had no flavor. Maybe it was the $5 special. I was disappointed with the quantity and quality of the food. The server were nice and polite.

The staff and owner was friendly and service was great. The food was like old school cooking with many options. I even got a plate to go.

You know, it's hard to find a good Soul food place today. Something is always off...either the food is good and service/price is horrible, or the food is crappy and the service is great. I have found my new "go to place" in Orlando. EVERYTHING we had was good. Flavor, portion, price and service-TOP SHELF. Way to go P&D!!!!

Stopped by here on our way back home.. and i must say i was really amazed at how friendly the staff was an how great the food lookex.. an they give u more than enough on your plate.. i had chitterlings because i couldn't make up my mind on ribs or pig feet bcuz it all looked an smelled delish.. #OMG We definitely will be stopping by here again the next time we're in Orlando.. Look them up you want be disappointed!!!

The lemonade alone is 5 stars. The banana pudding gets five stars. I only had the oxtails mac and collards but it did me right. A 15 star experience. This #rattlerrestaurantroundup was worth the trip. Will be back for Orlando Classic to have a picnic in the parking lot.

Went today and the food was Amazing!!!! I had the small pork chop meal and OMG!!!! Also got the red velet cake for dessert. Man it was a slice of heaven. The workers Shawn and Bulldog were great! Very accommodating and knowledge about the menu. I will definitely be back. �

My family came to Orlando to visit. After a long day at one of the theme parks we wanted some good soul food. I did a quick google search and found P&D! I'm so glad we found this place. We were able to place an order 30 mins before closing. Every item we ordered was available. The customer service was great! The food was hot & fresh! The vegetables were fresh and not frozen. Everything was seasoned nicely. We will definitely come back again!!!

I had the $5 lunch plate and it was delicious! I ordered BBQ chicken, cabbage and yellow rice. The meal came with a corn bread muffin. I'll definitely be back to try the mac & cheese!

Thank you to the owners and staff at The Soul Kitchen in Orlando Florida. This is real soul food. Me and my husband along with our friend went and had hefty portions of cubed steak, baked chicken, macaroni and cheese, yellow rice with gravy and onions, dressing, mustard greens, green beans, and the best peach cobbler I have tasted in a very long time. If you live in the area or if you are here for an event please check out this restaurant. You will not be disappointed. To add to these lovely dishes the prices are reasonable and the staff is very personable. Thanks again for a delicious experience.!!!

While on vacation in Orlando Florida had an opportunity to eat the best Soulfood in Orlando.P&DSoulfood Kitchen, amazing Atmosphere, friendly staff ,quick service. Most importantly best I had the pleasure of meeting the owners Paula and Dennis an amazing couple. If you're ever in Orlando Florida my North Carolina friends check them out. I'M Telling you the food make you want to slap your moma lol..oxtails,pork chop etc. vegetables homemade, desserts homemade .yesssssssssss. .

Amazing dinner tonight; everything was wonderful! Our family of 4 shared short ribs with yellow rice, collard greens, mac and cheese, and catfish bites, with yellow rice, green beans, and mac and cheese! Plus fried mac and cheese balls - they were phenomenal! And the banana pudding and peach cobbler were so super flavorful! We will definitely stop by the next time we are in town!

Drove 2 hours just to get a meal from there. It was worth the drive, very friendly people and very good food. If you have been there or planning a trip to Orlando please go by.

The food here is ridiculous. I drive from the west side of kissimmee to get food here. As i'm typing this in about to go right now for my dinner. It's a drive but so worth it.

Stopped by today with my cousin we couldn't really decide what to get because everything looked and smelled so good. I ended up getting oxtails, yellow rice, Mac and cheese, and dressing. Everything was good!!! I will be back and I recommend everyone try them. They are very friendly!

First time I went had a very good vibe. Walked in and felt like my family was the first to arrive at the family bbq. The food was good, cooked fresh and those GREENS oh yes, quality!! But the chicken, top notch to say the least. When you go there thank the owners for seeing their dream through they have an amazing story and it doesn't stop at a story but their love and passion permeates into the stores atmosphere and love in the food. Very home style. Had chitterlings, mac and cheese, cabbage and cornbread. The meal was fantastic. The folks waiting on us were extremely friendly.

Stopped in to get chitterlins, greens and mac & cheese! Was NOT disappointed at all! My hubby got a turkey wing, so tender it was falling off the bones! I was a loyal customer until today. Customer service is everything, especially to those who send you business. I called in my order, just to get there and find out it was never started. I got excuses, and was asked to wait additional time for them to start cooking an order I’m paying for. I love the food however, I refuse to pay for bad service. Today, is my last time eating there, or send referrals.
