Rix Sports Bar & Grill

October 2023: After we checked in early at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort My wife and I needed some lunch and walked to Rix Sports Bar & Grill. This is one of two locations on the WDW property and exactly what it is - a sports bar. It was a Sunday which meant it was packed full of NFL fans wearing their favorite team apparel. I would had thought people would be enjoying the parks but they were here. If I had known perhaps made a reservation, which I recommend for any restaurant on property. But the bartender said we could sit at the lounge area on leather chairs and could order food and drinks from the bar. I ordered the Turkey & Brie Sandwich. It was a huge sandwich with waffle cut fries. It did tasted good and filled me up for the remainder of the day. The bartender came by regularly to check up on us. I also learned you could pay using your room card key but preferred using my Disney Visa Card where might get a discount. I don’t remember if I did here. The place is located inside the Coronado with no view of anything except TVs, but a great place to hangout.

Nachos were delish. For $15 it's a nice size portion with lots of yummy jalapenos. The garlic parmesan wings weren't great though. Not enough sauce so they were pretty dry. I don't recommend them. The loaded mashed potatoes side was very good. The girls working the reception desk were not particularly friendly or helpful. In fact they looked quite annoyed that they had to answer a question.

Classic sports bar restaurant serving comfort burgers, sandwiches, and fries. This is one of multiple great dining options at Coronado Springs resort in Disney world. The only knock is that it’s pricey, but that’s the cost of being in the Disney bubble. We came for lunch, but this same menu is served for dinner and they do a different breakfast menu.

Breakfast was excellent and reasonably priced for Disney and the portions. My wife and I did not have reservations but there were spots at the bar so we were able to pop in! Service was quick and food was delicious and great portions as well! Would definitely come back and recommend for anyone staying at Coronado Springs!

We stopped in for lunch as a family and really enjoyed our food. We ordered two tuna’s and one blue cheese salad and all loved our meals. It’s been difficult to find a good tuna dish since we came to Orlando so this was a nice surprise. The staff were great, our server was with a trainee too and both team members were really friendly, helpful and attentive. We had a great lunch whilst the weather went south outside, moving us to the bar afterwards. Would recommend.

Update on new visit July 2023- Buffalo wing sauce is still different so we ordered the nachos and they were delicious. I have added a photo to show how large they are. Food for two. So disappointed that the wing sauce has changed. We used to get these delicious wings at Disney Port Orleans Riverside and also at Rix Sports Bar & Grill. Riverside changed their sauce and no longer offer the great buffalo flavored sauce they once were famous for. But, Rix continued to have them. We have compared many a wing to those delicious morsels and visited Coronado Springs, in part, due to those wings and sauce. During this visit, the sauce is gone and the replacement is not near as good. Come on, people. Why mess up a good thing? That being said, we ate at Rix twice during our stay last weekend and loved the service and personality we got from Ashley (the bartender). Great atmosphere. We opted for the Chipotle Glaze bone in wings and the Pork Potstickers. The Potstickers were over cooked and too tough and crunchy. The wings were okay. Our drinks were great and we will be back next time we stay at Coronado Springs Resort (one of the best resorts Disney has). Please consider bringing back the buffalo sauce you had previously. Thank you.

Nearly everything here was just so. The only thing holding me back from a 5 star review was the nearly burned Cuban sandwich (pictured). The mimosa flight was tasty and interesting, the extra dirty martini I ordered was perfect, and the crescent sandwich with Mac & Cheese was great per my wife. My sandwich and fries would also have been great, if it weren’t burned, as previously mentioned. We sat at the bar, and the bartenders were friendly and efficient.
