Delicious authentic Cuban fare. Loved the sampler appetizer and the main course of Lechón Asado was tender and juicy

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Havana's Cuban Cuisine and I have to say, it was a wonderful experience. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm hospitality and a cozy ambiance that immediately made me feel at home.
But let's get to the food. Oh my goodness, where do I even begin? The Churrasco con Camarones was an absolute delight. The steak was perfectly cooked to my liking, and the addition of the succulent shrimp was a fantastic touch. The dish was beautifully presented and the flavors were well-balanced and absolutely mouth-watering.
And the Masitas de Puerco? Simply amazing. The pork was cooked to perfection, with a crispy exterior and a tender, juicy center. The seasoning was spot-on and the dish was bursting with flavor. I could easily have eaten a second plate of this dish!
Overall, I cannot recommend Havana's Cuban Cuisine enough. The food is absolutely outstanding, the service is impeccable, and the atmosphere is welcoming and cozy. If you're looking for a fantastic dining experience, look no further than Havana's Cuban Cuisine. And if you go, make sure you try the Churrasco con Camarones and the Masitas de Puerco- you won't regret it! Five stars all around!

Nice small place. Service was great they were very attentive. Had the rabo it was good lacked tomato sauce so did the Ropa Vieja. Spoke with the owner said that is how they did it. The tamale was great!! And the beef empanadas lacked tomato sauce as well.

At first I was kinda skeptical, the restaurant was completely empty and the plaza wasn’t that busy but I am so glad we found this delicious Cuban restaurant. The food was very good, cooked perfectly and authentic. We will definitely be back when we are in town.
Side note- I recommend the Ropa Vieja and tres leches cake.

This was a highlight of my trip. The Montuno Havanero was delicious (pork, tamale, rice & beans, yuca, and fried plantain). Loved my Alhambra beer and coconut flan as well. Very friendly and fast service. Looking forward to coming back the next time I’m in Orlando!

Amazing good quality food. The the skirt steak with vegetables was amazing. I had the best vanilla flan I’ve ever had here. The staff is very great. Our waiter, the bald guy, was the friendliest and most informative! Will be back when I come back to Orlando.

Place was empty and it took a while for service but the food was amazing. Tamales were delicious. Ropa vieja too and good congris. Ripe plantains were yummy. We found it a bit pricey though and the portions were ok. The flan was really tiny but good taste.

Excellent. The staff was as incredible as the food. We had our hearts set on coco bongos at Disney springs and was disappointed it was closed so we tried it here and we were so impressed!!!! Great place clean and friendly!

A humble restaurant with a nice atmosphere. We were treated very well. Felt like we had our own personal waiter. Very professional on how he introduced the meals . There were five of us and each enjoyed our meals. If you are NOT use to “ Spanish “ flavors and seasonings, you may not enjoy your meal. Each of us have our unique taste buds and enjoy food differently. I myself enjoyed the seasoning of my dish, it was an Experience. May you too, enjoy this small, humble and very nice restaurant.

Great restaurant with a casual environment. The owner is very friendly.

After searching for a Cuban restaurant to eat, my husband and I decided to go to this place. We were not disappointed. The food was delicious. We had the day's special: oxtail and red snapper fish with two sides. My husband devoured the fish very tasty, and the oxtail meat fell off the bone. It was yummy—a great place to eat.

Another great meal at Havana Cafe. The shrimp, chicken yellow rice, empanadas were delicious. Service was wonderful. Great experience. Have never been disappointed yet. Another amazing dinner 2023. The snapper was wonderful.

07/20/2023 Back again (twice this month).
Yum. Dueling Whole Snappers last night at Havana's Cuban. My friend had a Fried Snapper (no batter or breading), and I had a Steamed Snapper with their wonderful Criolla Sauce. It comes with a salad and rice and delicious Black Beans. I like Congris.
The place is alive with energy and Cuban music. Tony and his staff are wonderful. I always enjoy my time here. It is the best Cuban Restaurant in Orlando. Tony makes his own house-made hot sauce which is really good (Island style).
-----------
Comfortable, good service, great food. Love the whole fish in Criolla Sauce.

Visited this hidden gem after several failed Cuban restaurant attempts. The portions were generous and the food was authentic and delicious. The restaurant was clean and the service was quick despite a full house. This spot is a definite must visit while in Orlando!

Not kid friendly at all!! Stay away from this place! Tony the owner verbally assaulted my son wife while giving arm gestures to get the hell out of restaurant. Our toddler was asleep and they didn't let us bring him in the stroller even after telling us that we could.
I have eaten here many times in the past but after getting comfortable with so many unsuspecting tourists eating there that Tony the owner started to treat his regulars with spite. His dirty looks and rolling eyes to us got unbearable. Today was the final nail in the coffen after telling us to get out because we wanted to sit by the front door where he said we could originally put our stroller with our sleeping son. He wanted us to leave our son asleep unattended by the front. Never eating here again! Tony and most of the staff is very rude and treats you like you are a real bother. I actually felt threatened and unsafe by how hostile he was towards my family. Very scary. If you look at most good reviews they are really old. Way different now. Families beware. Oh also if you are in a wheelchair forget it you are not allowed.

4 people walked in when we saw a sign about red snapper at the front door. A guy came up to seat us 4 minutes after he was finishing his conversation with someone else by the kitchen door. Restaurant was pretty much empty, had 2 table with total of 5 customers. we sat down, he asked us if we wanted anything to drink, we order drinks and asked for water all around, he brought the alcohol, Mojito are terrible, old crusty mint, and the sugar was regal, not the liquid sugar, I asked he said about it, answer: that’s what they use. yet the price was just as high as everywhere else. So we ordered the fish, 2 fishes were cooked ok, the other 2 were either some other kind of fish, or just some old fish from the bottom of the freezer. No wonder the place was empty around dinner time....Some people are just not good for service, we asked to speak for a manager, a guy walked away and did not respond, either does not understand English, or just he was the owner was embarrassed with his own stuff...Never again, Plenty of other places have much better food, and service....

Food and service was incredible. The woman that served us was very helpful, and super friendly. The food portions are pretty big and have good prices; I split 1 sandwich and an appetizer sampler with a friend and we could barely finish. The cubano was amazing, and the sampler had a lot of variety in flavors. I'm from out of town, but when I come back I will absolutely make this a destination, and if you're a local I'm very jealous.

Went for a quite lunch off the beaten strip had the Empanadas the Chicken was dry but Beef was very good. The Black Bean Soup which was tasty but we thought it was odd to be served with white rice as opposed to yellow rice. Then finished with a traditional Cuban Sandwich.
Road Trip
Very good Cuban food served up by a friendly husband and wife team.
The restaurant stayed busy the whole time we were there so service was a little slow, but the tasty food made up for it .
Items ordered:

Tamal Cubano - A definite must try!!!

Cubano

Camarones al Ajillo - (shrimp in garlic sauce)

Ropa Vieja. - spicy

Oh my god! The fiod was great! There was a lot of people dining and waiting when we walked in. The reason was dwfinitely the
food. Servers were super busy but still attentive and great with suggestions. Even offered to downsell us on the apps but we opted for the taste of Cuba - large! It was large but awesome. Would definitely reccomend, this would be a regular for me if i didnt live in VA!
Chris
Ok but nothing special. Me.... Ok but nothing special.
Mediocre ambiance, some food was pretty good (fried red snapper with ceole sauce) others not so good (driest rice n beans ever). I'm not convinced the server was rude, I just don't think he understood our questions, but he worked for the table. In short I was with good company and we all had a good time.

Great food and service. We came in for an early dinner and were not disappointed. The waiter was excellent and appropriately attentive. We have had little experience with Cuban food, so I cannot comment on the authenticity, but what I can say is that what we had was delicious!

I had the seafood stew that was served in a tomato-based sauce. The sauce was excellent and the seafood all cooked perfectly. The Cuban rice was prepared with thought and care, and was delicious, as were the plantains served with it.

We will be back in Orlando for a conference, and will definitely return here.

Love Cuban but not here!. I ate here a couple months ago and although the place was empty, the service was terrible and food worse. I chalked it up to a bad night. Tonight I was in town for business and in the mood for Cuban and thought I would give it another try. The waiter was friendly, but the wait staff clustered together talking and the service was very slow. The food was greasy and it all had the after taste of a grill that had needed a good cleaning. I had to ask three times for the bill. I won't go back.

HORRIBLE. This place is terrible. Our waiter was arguing with us when we politely mentioned we weren't pleased with the food. I love Cuban food, and this place made me want to never try Cuban food in Orlando ever again. The food is too salty and overpriced. The ambience is dull. For the people that think this place is amazing, I suggest visiting Versailles Restaurant in Miami for REAL Cuban food and ambiance. You'll agree with this review after that.
Victorytc100
My favorite Cuban place in this area. The whole snapper in garlic butter sauce is awesome. if you like skirt steak with chimichurri sauce this place has some of the best in Florida.
Sebastian Stonewall Mckinney
The server was extremely rude and I would never suggest it to anyone.

Eatin' here's no woe, if ya want Cubano!. While doing the water parks, games and the like recently with the kids and grand kids, my wife and I had a few moments to enjoy some quiet and culinary time. After the dogs, burgers, quick foods and tourist gyrations in and around Orlando, we decided to try some local Cuban flavor. Our choice was Havana’s Cuban Cuisine (aka Havana Café). Although not a bad choice, and I cannot heartily complain about the food, its relative authenticity and the service – I was somewhat dismayed that it turned out to be more of a tour bus drop point, than a go-to local’s Cuban eatery! When we arrived, between lunch and dinner times, the place was empty. We thought great, we have the place to ourselves – and so it was. It was as we were departing that (luckily) the tour buses began to arrive! Never-the-less, having beat this crowd, we actually enjoyed a quiet meal starting with an appetizer of fried plantains (mariquitas) and Sangria. We went on to try their: Fried Yuca (yuca frita); my wife’s Red Snapper in Sauce that was overwhelming and nothing to write home about (the sauce was virtually impossible to identify its components) – actually not even close to be Cuban at all; the Plantain Chips were OK; and I had their Seafood Creole – Cuban Zarzuela, although pretty good, not close to the best I’ve ever had (the fish and seafood and ingredients were fresh, but lacking in traditional Cuban flavor); I washed it all this down with a Presidente Beer. We decided to take with us their renditions of the Cuban Sandwich and the Media Noche for another meal later on – both sandwiches were pretty good. We ended our quiet afternoon there with a Cortadito! All in all, it could have been a better experience, considering the ambience, décor and service was above average, and their customer attention slightly above par. Don’t go thinking you’ll have a great Cuban meal and you’ll leave happy – so don’t expect, and you shall enjoy.

The Real Deal. We love Cuban food, and Havana Cafe knows how to cook it. We tried it for lunch, and started with their "famous" plantain chips, which are lengthwise slivers of plantains, fried with garlic. They were tasty, if a little greasy.
The classic Cubano sandwich was also delicious. The Cuban bread makes this sandwich a winner, and it was large enough to take half home to enjoy later.
Service was okay, if a bit slow, which we find to be the case in practically every Cuban restaurant we have ever dined in. I don't know if it a cultural thing or what. We weren't in a hurry, so it was not an issue for us. We still were in and out in less than an hour. The atmosphere is pleasant, with darker colors and Latin music playing in the background.
Keith Griffin
Never had Cuban food before but my wife and I tried this place on a whim. It is wonderful!

Great ropa vieja and pollo a la palomia. Fantastic service as well.

Rotten and Rude. Being from Miami, we know Cuban food. This wasn't even close ! The Arroz con Pollo (Chicken and Rice) came out with a dark red color and the rice was hard. The steak came out overcooked and smelled rotten. The service was WORSE than the food. The waiter was rude, we asked for the manager, and he was even WORSE. We do NOT recommend ANYONE visit this establishment.
Pipo1130
The worst restaurant in Orlando. I don't know why people write a good review about this restaurant. I went with my wife and two Grand Children on 11 July 2012, around 0730. The service was horrible. The waiter was impersonal, mad or pissed off. He got mad beacuse we asked questions about the menu. We left and gave him .01 cents of tip. I will never go back neither recomend this restaurant to anyone. The same treatment was not the same to people with blond hair and blue eyes. DON'T WAISTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY!!!!! By the way, when We asked for the manager, a guy came and told us he was. Another guy said he was the owner, wich we did't believed. Bad treatment to us.

Wow! This was a great dinner served by a staff who cared about ou experience and a kitchen that was rocking out with clean, balanced Cuban flavors. Nothing daring or innovative about the preparations but our back-to-basics pernil asada, fried pork, steak, tamales, empanadas and all the fixins were deeply flavorful and meticulously presented. Apps, dinner and drinks came in at a really reasonable price and they managed the trick of keeping the courses coming fast enough for a starving kid but slow enough to not rush mom and dad. If you're looking to feed your family on real, honest, non-Mouse food Havana's is a good bet.

Once again, Urbanspoon doesn't disappoint us. The food was great and came out fast. The server was by himself, but handled all parties in a timely and corteous way. Maduros were sweet and cooked to perfection, so were the tostones. Carne frita and bistec empanizado were awesome and the congri too. Best overall is the fact that this place is out of the way, out of the crowds..
Sherry
Pork shoulder was delicious! Husband had camaquay. He thought it was even better than my pork. Service was excellent.
Heather
Service was awful! The servicer was in a hurry and pushy for us to order and wanted us to order the special and did not want to explain other dishes when ask about, he really does not have people skills, overpriced food that is not all that great besides their hot sauce and be aware they have 18% gratuity on party of 4

Montuno Havanero. Recently had the pork chunks from Havana's while on a business trip. Great service, great tasting plaintains. Pork was good. I would recommend.

Tried it while I was in the area for business and LOVED it. Atmosphere, food and service was wonderful. will frequent this place often when in town

I use urbanspoon frequently and never review a restaurant till now, I'm a big fan of Cuban food been coming to Havana's Cuban cuisine for the 5 years at least 3 visits for month and never seen it dirty always clean bathroom and dinning area, food always cook to order the best skirt steak (churrasco) sizzling best black beans just like my grandmother just to make them and she knew about cooking she was all timer CUBAN.. the preview review by Nina p. must be mistaking with other place,
Nina P.
Save your money. I just saw that they are offering a coupon on Living Social, that's probably the only way they can get rid of their food. We went a few weeks ago and were very disappointed by the food AND the service. The place was dirty and food did not taste fresh, it tasted like it had been reheated several times. There are far too many REALLY GOOD Cuban resturants in the area to waste money on this place.
WendyK8
Deffinatly a place I will come back to! The roast pork shoulder was increditable. Realxed atmosphere and homestyle cooking, great combination.

Very Good Cuban Food. I found this place on Yelp when looking for a non-chain restaurant on a recent vacation to Orlando. It had good reviews, so we decided to give it a try. I'm glad we did.

For the appetizer we got plantain chips with garlic sauce. For our meals we ordered Monturo Havanero, Churassco, and pollo a la plancha. Everything was very good. I'm not an expert on Cuban food, but I have had it several times and this seemed authentic. The food was very flavorful and we all agree this was the best meal we had while in Orlando.

Great restaurant with authentic cuban food. I highly recommend this place. Didn't expect to find this type of food in orlando.

It's been about 5 months now that my co-workers and I discovered this little jewel in the middle of the Mickey's play ground. Ever since we discovered it we have made it a point to com every Friday. I have not had a bad meal in this place. It's a must try for locals and tourists a like.

Excellent! Pernil (lechon) asado was incredibly tender and Cuban sandwich great. Mountain of fried plaintain chips drizzles w/garlic oil (mariquitas) -- mmm!

Service was quick and attentive. Huge portion (consider sharing). Good food, I don't know a l.ot about Cuban food).

Lechon Asado on the lunch memu was fantastic and the prices ($9 or so) were very reasonable for the serving size.

Great food. It was a little pricey, but the red snapper was awesome. Definitely would return, its a nice break from the awful disney food in this area.

No Way Jose. We went to dinner with a group of friends in April and as it happens many times none of us wanted to be the one to say "let's leave".

The place was gross and dark, at one point they turned up the lights briefly and that's when we could really see how gross the place was. The walls were dirty, peeling paint, food stains...

We ordered Sangria for the table and are still not sure what was served to us. The so call sangria was thick, cloudy and just didn't taste right. It was almost like a melted, warm smoothie poured over ice.

The waiter told us about the 'specials' that night. One of the items was fresh fish that was avail either steamed or fried. Three people in our party ordered the 'special' and they seemed to enjoy it although they each didn't eat 80% of their meal. What was especially insulting was that that when the bill arrived they were charged more for this 'special' plate, when the same exact thing is already on the menu for less! So really watch out when looking at the so call specials.

We also orderd the Ropa Vieja and the roast pork. No one in the group finished our meals. The rice tasted as if it had been reheated several times and was almost tasteless.

If you need to use the restroom do your best to hold it till you leave. The bathroom smells and doesn't look like it's been cleaned in years, the doors don't even close properly. You also have to pass the kitchen door which exposes the same condition of the kitchen. There was pieces of food on the floor and grim everywhere.

The experience over all really stunk ... Please save your money and DON'T eat here...

Hopefully the owners will read this review and use it to clean up their act...

The best Cuban food in the Central Florida area. Good portions & great food for fantastic prices. If you like Cuban food then this is the resturant for you.

Authentic and Amazing. We just moved here from Miami and were eager to find a place like home. The black beans, fried plantains and churrasco were excellent. The food was a delight as was the friendly management. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone.

I've been going to Orlando for a good number of years, and as a rule I always stop at Havana's. It's some of the best Cuban food in town. Havana's lies in an awkward shopping center not far from Disney that also contains a glatt kosher place, a Hooters, and a video game bar. The food is painfully authentic, and the staff is pleasant and entertaining. Start with a Cuban beer (brewed in Florida) and some plantain chips. They will help prepare you for the festival ahead. If you're a meat eater, the Camaguey is the way to go. Grilled skirt steak, chicken & pork make up the dish. On the side, congri and plantains complement the dish well. Congri is mixed rice and black beans, and is a Cuban mainstay. © 2014 Try My Mom's Sauce

It turned out that my conference in Orlando earlier this month wasn't actually in Orlando proper but about a half hour drive away from downtown in Buena Vista, close to many of the theme parks. There wasn't much around our hotel and everything close to the conference hotel (a resort) was overpriced and mediocre. We had to take taxis to get anywhere decent. We struck out the first night at a restaurant close to the hotel, Landry's Seafood, where portions were overly generous and most of the seafood came with superfluous toppings consisting of butter, cream, and more seafood. My "starter" of crispy onion strings and jalapeños came out looking ridiculously bigger than pictured on the menu. My colleague (R) and I struggled to finish even a quarter of that pile. My combination plate of fish (topped with a cream sauce, fried mushrooms and crab meat), devilled crab (a crab shell filled with a generic crab mixture) and shrimp 3-ways (grilled, fried in garlic butter on toast and um…. wrapped
