Review Sweet Mama's Restaurant - Orlando

This was a pleasant find and great to eat where the local community dines compared to hotel fare. We are staying at the Lake Nona Wave Hotel and this was a a quick drive. The service was excellent and the staff are very friendly! For the most part the food was good, served hot and timely. The home fries are heavily salted so if you need a low salt diet be prepared. The poached eggs were cooked to order and the grits and toast were also very good.

My husband loves Sweet Mam”s. This is the only place he can get eggs Benedict Hollandaise sauce with corn beef hash. I’ve had the corn beef hash. Potatoes and French toast all good. I recommend the pineapple juice. The food here is home cooking, good each time we go. This Sunday we went early, before church let out, it was full, still we were seated in 10 minutes. They close at 2pm, soon after we go there a line formed. The restaurant is small not a lot of seating like a large restaurant. However, it is worth the wait. There sometimes is seating out side along the sidewalk. The staff is nice. Prices are reasonable. There are a lot of options on the menu.

I like their pancakes and french toast. In my most recent visit, I had the Banana Foster French Toast and I savored every bite. One of my friends had an Omlette with Hash Browns. When I asked him about it, he said "excellent." I was looking over the lunch menu at panini sandwiches. I asked the waitress on her favorite and she said: " Chicken Pesto Panini." I will try that there in the future. UPDATE; I went back recently and was in the mood for the Chicken Pesto Panini for brunch. I savored every bite as my taste buds went crazy with the combination of the carved chicken, the pesto, the tomato and- I believe- spinach. Oh my goodness!

We on vacation and we saw the name and knew we had to give it a try. Very quaint family spot with friendly staff. The restroom was clean and the restaurant was also clean. We looked at a few plates as we waited for our food and it all looked delicious. The food was really tasty, however the home fries was a little dry. My husband got his home fries sautéed or grilled and they were delicious and moist. The artichoke omelet was very delicious. It was 6 of us and everyone enjoyed their selected dish. I would definitely say its a spot worth going to. They even have outdoor seating.

We came here on a whim and I'm certainly glad we did. The atmosphere was what I want in a down home breakfast spot. All of the staff were welcoming and very friendly! The food was great and the wife and I were sharing an entrée and without asking the kitchen halved the meal for us on separate plates. Doesn't get any better than that! Lots of options and you won't be disappointed if you are looking for a good home cooked meal away from home. Can't wait for our next visit.

I'm from GA . Was taken here for my 2 trips in 2021 in Orlando. The place feels very homey. They have a good variety menu. The shrimps in the shrimp and grits are huge. Chicken tenders and waffles is flavored nicely. Everyone enjoyed their food. The staff is very friendly , so kind. A great atmosphere.

Sweet Mamas has been a staple in my family’s life since they first opened. Since the change of ownership, the service and food had been a little rocky. BUT I am here to tell you that this morning, we had a great experience. The food was just as good as with the old owners, and the service was very quick and friendly. I recommend anyone who gave up on them, give them another try. We will continue to enjoy our breakfast there!

The is the best place in Lake Nona for brunch! It is super affordable and everything tasted amazing! They have the best prices for Mimosas and Bloody Mary’s. Their pancake and waffles are huge! I personally had the Chicken and Waffles, too many times have I ordered chicken and waffles and ended up with sticky hands because I end up having to tear apart legs and wings by hand, not here though and I appreciated that. Their giant cinnamon roll is a must get, it comes to you warm and gooey and hits the spot of you have a sweet tooth. If you’re in the area come to Sweet Mama’s!

Excellent! Was just me for bfast, seated within minutes. I got a big booth. Had the hash, cheddar, onion omelette (hot and fast delivery) Coffee (which was piping hot in a giant mug) - the staff runs around efficiently, and there are plenty of them…. They are fast and friendly! Sweet Mamma’s is tucked away in a little shopping center, my dentist is here as well. If you are in the Nona area this is a lovely place for bfast! Have a visit! 😉👍🏻

Everything is GOOD!!!!! Definitely will come back. I ordered a buffalo chicken salad. The chicken is fresh hand breaded and the tomatoes are sweet and fresh. My husband ordered a super club sandwiche. He was impressed. The restaurant is clean and nice.

Very yummy. The food is presented nicely, the servers are very friendly, and the pancakes definitely had real fruit in it! The menu itself has a lot to choose from; I got a seasonal Cap'n Crunch French Toast (really good lol). The ambiance is kind of old family/country chic and the prices are a wee bit high, but really not bad. (: Although there were a lot of people, we didn't wait long at all for our food, and our cups were always filled ;) Nothing to complain about! Would definitely come here again😁

Great breakfast; our bacon was cooked perfectly! Friendly servers and fresh coffee. My breakfast sandwich was delicious!

The food is good. The place can seem cramped but it's only like that becuase so many people come and eat here so they try to seat as many people as they can. The place is noisy for sure but I enjoyed their menu and food. Our server was very nice. The place definitely reminds me of a homestyle diner. Menus prices were nothing too crazy. Always a fan of breakfast spots so I had to come check the spot out. My only complaint is I wish they had like breakfast combo options otherwise I'd give it a 5 star.

First thing to know it is self seating. Had the 1/2/3 one pancake, 2 eggs, 3 slices of bacon. Eggs were barely warm but cooked perfect medium, bacon was the tiniest over cooked. The blueberry pancake was perfectly cooked with tons of blueberries and a good sweet taste to the pancake. The coconut French toast was nice and sweet with a good amount of coconut on it. Shrimp and grits were a bargain with 5 huge shrimp with it. Overall a great experience. Our waitress Hilary was super attentive even as the place filled up. Be here early or you might get shut out.

Large portions great flavor nice people. They have a lot of cure little things to look at. I found something that brought back childhood memories of sitting at the kitchen counter with my sister pouring milk out of the ceramic cow that they so happened to have a very similar one onto our cereal every single morning I had to snap a picture and sent it to her and she was equally as enthusiastic I found something so similar to what we had growing up. They actually found it in the back of our cabinets this week so it was perfect! Thanks for the wonderful experience.

The large crowd let me think the food was going to be amazing. The friendly staff were also amazing handling the crowds with smiles and helping each other out. Those waiting outside in the cold, were offered hot beverages while they waited. The food didn’t deliver like we’d hoped. My home fries were like little pieces of charcoal. The pancake was awesome and the bacon was cooked nice and crispy. My companion had a Denver omelette and hash browns. Omelette was not fluffy, cheese was not good and the hash browns looked like a little brick. $20 for a disappointing breakfast without drinks. Sorry!

Sweet Mama's was the quintessential lunch spot for business in Lake Nona! It had quality and delicious food, large portions for the amount of money they charged. However, in the past year the prices have dramatically increased, the quality and portion sizes have declined and it is not the same Sweet Mama's we knew and loved. For the past few times that we have ordered our lunches, we have been charged $1 for extra sauce, because the quantity of the amount they put on their food is so minimal. Sometime we have to stop at Publix for extra sauce! We have also noticed that when we call ahead something is always wrong with the meal. I feel that we shouldn't have to check to see if the meal we placed over the phone is correct before leaving. Even their large drinks have decreased in size to a medium cup and they still charge us for the large size about $3 for 24oz when before it was 32oz. I sincerity hope that this review helps them see the decline of their food and their business and make adjustments to make Sweet Mama's amazing again. It is disappointing to long time costumers from a large corporation to stop going to a locally owned place because of quality.

Eh. Food was ok at best. Chicken had WAY too much breading in it. Eggs & potatoes lacked flavor. Service was very slow (people who came in after us were finished with their food & left before we got ours. There were 2 of them and 3 of us) Had to flag down or waitress for refills. Restaurant is packed with tables so we kept getting bumped by wait staff & customers. If we return it will be based on location over quality.

Good food at a good value. We used to visit Sweet Mama's at their old location quite often. I'm glad they moved to the Lake Nona area.

Great little spot! Good cooking. Friendly service. We've eaten breakfast, lunch and dinner here and have enjoyed all. If you're thinking of trying the place, you must start with breakfast.

Pancakes, biscuits and gravy, eggs Benedict and the omelettes are among my fave choices. We had a great breakfast very inexpensive. Same great taste, service at reasonable places.

Would I go back again? YES

Just eh. Omelet nothing special. Barely any cheese. Fruit had some type of fur on it. Like cat fur. I thought the one on my plate was a fluke, but then I found more in my fruit as I went through it. Weird!!!

AJ's #1 for Breakfast!. AJ and I go way back ... we served in the Pentagon together, and even though he was Navy, and I was Air Force, we always got along at the dinner table! He now has a fancy aviation job at MCO ... and I always look him up when we are in Central Florida.

This Mom and Pop place was his number one choice for breakfast, so I rounded the family up and we got there before the Sunday morning rush ... We loved it! The food was great, service was prompt and friendly. Our breakfast was cooked to order and everything was perfect!

If you are in the area, this should be on your list to try. The twirl girl loved it and was ready for her team competiton ... but that is another story!

I just had the western scramble. I have to say that there is no chain restaurant that beats it. The food is fantastic and affordable. It's like having a home cooked meal.

Way too small for the volume they handle. Also very noisy during peak times. Service while polite and with a smile is very slow! Ordered the rte 15 chicken sandwich and the chicken was dreadfully overlooked and lacked flavor to begin with. The split pea soup was way too thick. It is a local icon but I think they are trading on reputation since the move or had a bad day. Slow service, food not very good.

Great little spot! Good cooking. Friendly service.

We've eaten breakfast, lunch and dinner here and have enjoyed all.

If you're thinking of trying the place, you must start with breakfast. SO YUMMY.

Pancakes, biscuits and gravy, eggs Benedict and the omelettes are among my fave choices. They also have some specials that appear on occasion and those are worth checking out, like the Cap'n Crunch French Toast!

For other meals:

Salads are large!

Burgers are very, very good. (Monday night has special pricing!)

Mac and cheese is an excellent choice as a side.

Fish Fry Friday is really good too if you enjoy fried catfish.

Their wings are my favorite thing on the menu! Add garlic and Parmesan. Nom nom nom. I usually end up a mess, but oh so worth it. Best wings I've had in Orlando.

Worse service ever!!! We Wai.... Worse service ever!!! We waited 45 minutes after we ordered our food for the waitress to tell us out order was never given to the kitchen!! She came back to the table and asked us what we originally ordered because she forgot!!! she looked at us like nothing was wrong and wondered why we were hesitating to place another order with her??!!! She then tried to make it up by bringing me a cinnamon bun ( FYI I ordered egg whites) dahhhhh??? Than when we left without eating, they apologized and told us to buy their Groupon online ???!!!! Really??!

Very dissappointing. First time we ate there it was fine. second time we got starved! The waiter took our order, ignored us for the rest of the time only to come back 40mins later to tell us they lost our order. At this point we were passed famished, so we had to leave to order at McDonald's. What a shame, i really wanted to like this place because of its close proximity to us.

One word of advice: RUN!!!

The middle aged man that works there was very rude and we left. You seat yourself there. We sat at a table with our newborn after standing for 10 minutes waiting for a table. There were plenty of high tops and bar seating open. We needed a table for the carrier. The man came up to us and said the table was reserved for parties of 6 or more but we could sit there as long as a larger party didn't come in. We were expected to get up and move seats during our meal. We just said forget it. We will leave. The guy just said okay. We drove by half an hour later and the parking lot was empty. I will never go back. The sad thing is we ate here for years every Sunday to only be treated like this. I had just given birth and could no longer stand when there was open seating or climb a bar stool with stitches. They didn't care.

Curry Ford location: Fantastic Cuban! Kids had burgers, fingers & fries. All delicious & the fruit cup is fresh cut fruit- not canned. Staff is friendly & service is prompt. Will definitely be back!!

Twice In One Day. After eating breakfast at Sweet Mama's this morning I tried them again for dinner tonight. Two great meals in one day. I highly recommend Sweet Mama's for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

Just had the Country Meal for breakfast. Reasonably priced and tasted great!

Diverse menu, great spot for comfort food.

If the previous reviewer had bothered to ask.....the county being grumpy with them so they are forced to use disposables until they've into their new location. Good homestead food that is great tasting and has a decent price.

What the hell happened? Entirely served with plastic and Styrofoam. If I wanted a picnic I wouldn't pay restaurant prices. Won't be back!

A Pleasant Surprise. A nice little family restaurant with home-made meals, soups, and desserts. Look's a tired on the outside, but that's what drew us in. A nice change from all the chain operations. Friendly staff and good service.
