Nick's Family Diner

My partner and I made the delightful choice to spend quality time with our family in Orlando. Opting for a local and conveniently located spot, we embarked on a memorable outing. Despite a somewhat lengthy wait, the exquisite flavors we savored made every passing minute worthwhile. This establishment exuded a charming homestyle essence, particularly through its delectable cuisine. The country and rustic ambiance added a touch of warmth, especially on a rainy day like today. We were thoroughly impressed by the exceptional food, attentive service, and the overall fantastic location.

How have I lived in the Pine Hills area since 2016 and not have heard about this restaurant?! My favorite food is anything that involves turkey and gravy. Such a simple food item yet so hard to find in this area. Finding Nicks is like finding the gold at the end of the rainbow! Hot open faced turkey sandwich with mashed potatoes, veggies and a side of their awesome apple filling! Generous portions, fast service, friendly people. I have been eating the same dish every time that I go but my other family members have been trying various dishes and so far we have been satisfied.

This is a hidden gem. It’s not immediately visible from the road but upon pulling in you see that this place must be doing something right. The parking lot was full of people walking to and from the entrance and people waiting outside for their “table-ready” pagers to go off or for their take-out food to be ready. They do have a pickup window for convenience if you’d like to pick up your order without having to go inside. Upon entry and check-in, you can choose to sit at the bar counter or a booth or table. My experience was that the staff was friendly and helpful. They offer breakfast and lunch menus items. They appear to keep things tidy and clean. And the portion sizes are generous. I had the Western Scrambler w/ hash browns and a biscuit as well as the Shrimp & grits. Both great. Check out my two photos for details. I highly recommend this place and I will be back.
