The Wave… Of American Flavors

Breakfast at The Wave is always something to look forward to enjoying. Make your reservation for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Always delicious. Started with strong coffee while browsing the menu... so many tough choices. Everything on the menu looked so good. We chose the avocado toast, Floridian Eggs Benedict, and the mixed fruit plate. Shared between three, it was plenty for us because we had lunch reservations at Kona Cafe at the Polynesian: another treat. Update Sept 9,2021... The Wave is being updated, so we enjoyed breakfast in their temporary location on top of the Contemporary Resort. Yes, you can enjoy breakfast at The California Grill (The Wave) in the morning and lunch. Avocado toast, sampler, and crab cake eggs benedict. Try it out before they move back downstairs.

Phenomenal experience. We booked a reservation for breakfast for my wife’s birthday and Kathy especially made it so memorable for us. The food was delicious and a great value for the money, let alone the views of being in California Grill until September 10. Go eat breakfast here while you can until 9/10!!! We both got the feasts! Food quality and taste was amazing. I recommend coming here quickly!

After hearing that this place was going to close permanently, my party and I wanted to try this restaurant out. The reviews that we watched online recommended the bacon and eggs for appetizer. Let me say that this dish was EXTREMELY addictive. In fact, I wish I just ordered two of those and turn into an entree. It's that good... That said, it was not the BEST grits I ever had but its definitely up there. My entree was average given the price. I ordered the gnocchi. Service was swell!

Victor and Spencer (in training) were great. Victor asked where we were going today and provided relevant facts for us about the park and tips on where to rest out of the sun. I thought I was going to be disappointed without the buffet. I couldn't have been more wrong. Without it, it made me explore other items on the menu. The avocado toast was just what I needed. Light, yet filling. My wife had been looking for grapes our entire trip with no luck so she ordered the fruit platter. Not only did it look beautiful, it tasted as if it was pulled at peak ripeness. Because she mentioned the grapes earlier, when bringing out our check, Victor brought out a small to-go cup filled with grapes. It was a small kindness that made my wife light up and just made our day that much more magical. Which in the end is what you are paying for at Disney.

The Wave is an excellent restaurant that is on par with restaurants that are more expensive. We shared the crab cakes, pork tenderloin and gnocchi. The food was delicious and expertly prepared. The wine list is not extensive but offers a bottle for everyone's taste. When in Disney this is a restaurant to check out.

A fun restaurant in the basement of the Contemporary Hotel! We enjoyed the take-out order system and waited at the bar. We enjoyed the loudest drinks of the menu and the bartender even reminded us that we can travel with our drinks to our hotel room. What a fun walk THAT was! Thanks for the good food and fun times!
