Review Old Town Mexican Cafe - Orcutt

Authentic, down home Mexican food. Chips served with their award winning Salsa and also with refried beans. Couldn’t decide which I liked best, so ate both. My meal came quickly; I asked if they had any hotter sauce. She returned with their hottest salsa, basically the salsa I had before with more chilis in it. Poured the whole container over my food. Very good and with some respectable spicy fire! As they do serve breakfast items, I’ll be back to enjoy those also!

The service was terrible (very slow). We waited for 20 minutes after we were sat down for our drinks, chips & salsa. Then we waited for another 20-30 minutes for our waitress to come back and see if we wanted more Chips & salsa or refills on our empty drinks. Food was ok but our entrees were warm not hot. Maybe they were having a bad night. On the bright side the salsa was great and they also served beans & cheese which was good.

We used to love coming to this restaurant. The food is typical Mexican fare, it was mainly for the great service we received from Desi, Fonzi, and jasmine. We came once a week for 7 years! They remembered our order and our names and were so sweet to my son. I will no longer patronize this establishment after the service we received this evening from a server we don’t frequently have. She was unbelievably rude and her representation of the ownership left the worst taste in my mouth.

Great service! Tasty food. Located in Old Town Orcutt. I like to support the local businesses in my adorable little town. Their salsa is bomb!

This place is usually very good. Last night ordered my usual. CARNITAS DINNER and CARNITAS TACO SALAD. The carnitas were so SALTY I couldn't EAT IT!!! Tried TACO SALAD. SAME THING!!! Like someone dropped the shaker in it.. $ 35 Called right away will speak with owner when she returns. Very sad.

Great special last night and at a price thats VERY reasonable. Bean, rice and Tamales were top notch. Waitstaff gal was VERY friendly and curteous and offered me a place to sit. Pacifica beer was cold and hit the spot. I was told by a friend to go on a Sat or Sunday AM for a big bowl of the best Pozolle in town!
