Review Lucille's Smokehouse Bar-b-que - Orange

In town for business and my colleague brought me here for lunch. You can’t go wrong with bbq. We ordered the fried onion straws and it was crispy. I ordered their lunch 2 meat special and got the brisket and pulled pork with loaded baked potato. All I gotta say is that it was delicious. Also the biscuit with cinnamon butter was sweet and good. The sweet tea drink was refreshing as well.

I went here with my family during our Thanksgiving vacation, and it was great. The waitress was friendly and joyful. The wait was super short for getting a table, and for the food, I loved the ambience, it was relaxing and not too noisy. The adult drinks were not the best, but proportions were huge! And dont get me started on the food! It was soo tender and flavorful, as the mashed potatoes packed a punch with flavor with great texture, one of the best I have ever tasted. It is absolutely a top recommendation if you are in the area!!!

Great experience here. If you are familiar with the Lucille"s brand, this location is off brand. I say off bra d because the interior feature and design are not typical, as you may have experienced at other locations. Except for the interior motif , the menue is spot on, and we found the service here excellent.

Visited this place on a whim, and got to say I was not disappointed. Had the Jambalaya, Pork Tip ribs, Okra and the mash potato with two cocktails. The food arrived very fast, which made me think maybe it wouldn't be as good but boy was i wrong. The jambalaya was well seasoned and had a nice kick and you could tell the ingredients used were good quality. The mash was seasoned and had bacon and spring onion, it was very moreish and I could have ate it all day. The okra was really nice. It's something I've found restaurants struggle to get right but both me and my partner agreed it was very good. The tip ribs...just wow. There home made BBQ sauce was just delicious. It was sweeter then I would usually like but I couldn't get enough of it. Service was fantastic from all staff, didn't have to wait long for food and drink at all. Our waitress was very attentive and gave recommendations as well. If I am ever back in the US and in that area I will certainly be going back.

This place was outstanding. First we arrived and were told it would be a 40 minute wait. We didn't mind because it was Saturday at 630pm. They took my number and texted me 24 minutes later that our table was ready. The younger guy that seated us was super friendly. Our server, Mary, was awesome. She was busy but very good at her job. Our drinks stayed full. Our food came out quickly. She checked on us regularly, and was very nice as well. We have been in the area a few days and this was by far our best dining experience this trip. The pulled pork nachos were epic. The jalapeno cheese sausage was outstanding and the beef ribs were superb. Everything we had was great. Thank you! Keep it up!

Had the 1/2 chicken smoked really did not need bbq sauce. At the end of the meal you get a hot towel to clean off with. Curtis my waiter was helpful with my selection since this was my first time. Will be back

This restaurant is at a great location. We were able to walk to it from our hotel. Some of the prices were a bit expensive BUT that is because the portion sizes are large. We were able to get seated (2 of us) within five minutes of arriving (Saturday night around 6). The décor was very fun, the booths spacious, and a nice little bar. I only made it 4 stars as I wish there had been a choice of BBQ sauces, and I wish the sauce was a bit thicker. Also the biscuits were good but I would have also enjoyed a choice of having regular butter with them that wasn't as sweet as the cinnamon butter. Finally the staff were all wonderful BUT I could tell the restaurant makes them check in on the customers more than is necessary. I felt we were checked in on too often which was kind of annoying when you are trying to eat.

2nd visit. Beef ribs are really good and the service staff are always attentive and very pleasant. Love their beef ribs. Just the right amount of meat on it and everything has a nice char to it and it’s not drenched in sauce so not overly sweet either. And always order the onions straws. Those are the best. Service as always is friendly like any other Lucille’s in LA. Just a short walk from the Orange Outlets.

I love the best BBQ restaurant where sandwiches, salads, and even Thanksgiving tradition meals are served every year on Thanksgiving Day.

Excellent service, our server was amazingly attentive 👍. Great family ambience! We got seating right away despite the visible line. Biscuits and butter are AMAZING!!! The Saint Louis ribs were a big portion, but were Ok, a little dry for my taste. The Southern fried catfish were crispy, but plain flavor. Our favorite dish was BBQ Combo, three meat BBQ , perfect for sharing ! Also the house IPA was good and was cold 👍👍 and their sauces were so good!! Good barbecue Sunday OMAD lunch meat meal with yummy carbs sides.

I loved my experience here! I was visiting from indiana for a convention and was craving some bbq and it did not disappoint! My waitress was super helpful in guiding me threw the menu! I hope they bring this to the Midwest because I have to have this again!

We visited for Thanksgiving and were not disappointed. Smoked turkey and smoked ham, dressing, cranberry salad, mashed pototoes, the works. Most excellent meal. Our server was top notch. This our 2nd thanksgiving meal at Lucille's, and it will not be the last. 5 stars.

Great atmosphere. Great food. Looks like a diner type place, but the food screams serious BBQ joint.

I’m from NorCal and unfortunately don’t live in a state where there’s a plethora of bbq joints to choose from that are decent anyways. Wish we had something like this place or at least like Phil’s bbq from SD to go to.

We always enjoy dining at Lucille's. The food is excellent, and the staff is very friendly. After the meal, be sure to order one of their signature deserts. We're usually so full we take it home for later.

I was craving some BBQ, so looked at the reviews and I decided to come here. We had beef brisket nachos which where just OK at best, we ordered beef ribs and beef brisket. The ribs where Tough and kinda inedible they where really bad. The beef brisket was edible but over cooked and dry. We had the baked bbq beans as a side and they were the worst thing I have ever tasted in my life. The best part of the meal was the iced Diet Coke.

Serious BBQ. Will come here every trip I make to this area. High recommend it to any BBQ fan. Love the burnt ends the most. Really enjoy the ability to order online and just pick it up.

I've been to lucille's many times as it is a chain BBQ place. That said, it's fairly decent BBQ for a chain.

Last night I had the two meat combo (BBQ ribs and pulled pork) with Mac and cheese and greens. The meat was pretty flavorful other than I'm pretty sure they boil their ribs before smoking it (takes away some flavor). They were tender though. Greens were actually good. I wouldn't really bother with the Mac and cheese unless you just had a great craving.

Probably the best thing going there are the drinks and free biscuits.

We were visiting from our of town tried this place based on the rating. It lives up to It, BBQ was great!

Just okay. Just moved from Virginia so was looking for a good BBQ place. This is not it. The food is very pricey for not so great BBQ. In addition, they had advertisements all over saying they now have sweet potato fries, but when we ordered this, they did not have it. If you have not eaten southern BBQ, then I guess you might think this place is okay.

Good bbq served quick. BBQ is pretty sad in the OC. Certainly up on the north end. Except for Beachwood which I love, I haven't really found a stand alone place that I think makes good BBQ - all have their quirks. But Beachwood is both far away and would turn me into an alcoholic if I regularly went there with all their great beer choices.

So that leaves the new chain in town. Every time I have had Lucille's I have really enjoyed it. It would probably be very middle-of-the-road in a real BBQ heavy area but for here it is pretty damned good.

So I was happy to discover this new quick casual version of the chain that is in building that once housed the old Hof's Hut next to Crystal Cathedral. They have done a great job of remodeling this to look like part of the Lucille's family. As we entered there was a sign offering table service in the lounge (which looks well stocked and has happy hours during about half the time they are open) or counter service and seat yourself.

We opted for counter service and since I had a 2 fer coupon we went with the big daddy assortment of meats - ribs, pulled pork and brisket. It comes with one side, corn bread and a pickle. Way too much lunch but I wanted to taste as many meats as I could.

I love their ribs, only quibble is I'd like a slightly less sweet glaze but it is probably to the popular taste. But the crust and tender meat inside is perfect. The pulled pork and brisket were also classic BBQ with a noticeable smoke ring on the brisket. Nice amount of smokiness.

I sense this is a test store for a new concept for them. If so I heartily approve.

I am so glad I found this place on urbanspoon. They had delicious BBQ sandwiches and wonderful sides. The prices were very reasonable and the restuarant was very clean and well organized. The service was lightning quick. My kids both loved their meals too. A nice change from the overpriced Disney food. A very close drive from the park. We will be back on our next trip to Disneyland.

I love this place! Order at the counter like fast food, grab a table and they being it out, fast! The only thing not like a fast food place is the taste. The portions are generous, enought to share, and the price is reasonable, even better because you don't tip. Same great BbQ and salads as the larger Lucille's,
