Review Hai Ru Chinese Restaurant - Ontario

A. A.
NEW OWNERS, Very clean cooking area. The food is great and made by a good family that care about what they make. This is my favorite Chinese restaurant on the East side of Webster and in Ontario. I recommend ordering here. Online orders can be done for this restaurant.

Seems a little rundown but don't be fooled - it's the best takeout in Rochester! We have always been very happy with the food, the speed and the service. Thick accents sometimes make ordering the tiniest bit difficult but they are always happy to repeat to make sure we both heard right. We have been coming here for over 10 years. Highly recommend!

Food is good, generous and a good value. The order is never actually ready in 10-15 min though 😄

Ordered General Tso's Chicken and it was delicious, the sauce they make is the perfect spicy level and it's not greasy or fake tasting. It can be hit or miss with General Tso sauce. Huge portions and rice was fresh, pretty good!

They always have great food, and you get your money's worth. BBQ Pork spareribs, beef & broccoli, lo mien & egg roll combinations are enough for 2 meals. I highly recommend!

This has always been the go-to Chinese spot since I was young , now under new ownership, still the fave in town! My partner always gets veggie fried rice when we order Chinese takeout and theirs is the most flavorful in the area by far!

Modest family run place. Good food, delivered quick and hot. And very pretty ladies work there. The boy seems sad sometimes though. Don't know why. He's handsome enough and speaks good english, he shouldn't have trouble finding a girl friend. American girls are a pain in the butt though...maybe that is why he is so sad. Maybe his sisters are mean to him. idk I give him good tip. Hope he smiles. I give the pretty girl big tip too, hope she comes back next time. Best Szechuan around! Excellent mei fun too (get the House Special). And their buffalo wings are cheap and have an interesting zing to them. Hint of teriyaki maybe....not sure really. I recommend them. Never waste your money on boneless wings from a pizza chain again. Get twice as much food for half the price. *Edit. No more delivery since the Coof hystemic. So I took a star away. Everything else, still true.

Our favorite Chinese restaurant! The food is delicious, portions are generous, and the owners are pleasant and welcoming. We live 20 minutes away and won't go anywhere else! It's awesome.

I see a lot of comments on the customer service. Lets just be clear of you've ever been to NYC you know the "rudder" they are the better the food lol. We as Americans have a lot of customs thats a odd in other countries. Ever stop and think that maybe they are not actually being rude? I would give this place a million stars if I could. Amazing food.

Asked for spicy kung pan and spicy General Taos chicken, they were fantastically seasoned. It's awesome to have a perfect dinner on Christmas/birthday. Merry Christmas.

The Confession of an American soldier who fought in the Korean and Vietnam war. Many-hued cooking styles exemplify the rich history and culture of China. From the northern Szechwan chili spices to the southern ginger roots the reward of its perfumed aromas and taste is simply splendid. Lately, Chinese buffets have been popping up like wild mushrooms. When the main interest is to offer quantity, quality has sadly faded away. When I hear people referring to the art of Chinese cooking as now being represented by the popularity of Chinese Buffets... I weep bitterly. As one of the few iconoclasts who still likes to cook Chinese with pride and joy, I want to invite you to Hai Ru Chinese Food, where your taste buds will witness the infinite richness of what Chinese cooking was meant to be. If you wish to say I am taking this cooking and eating business too seriously, you may. Indeed I am. Are you? Patrick Wu Rochester
