I just got a 24 cut pizza for $28 half cheese half pepperoni. One of the worst pizzas I’ve ever had. I ordered from sal’s bc they were the only pizza place open on Monday. The pizza was under cooked the doe was unevenly stretched making some slice paper thin and others way to thick. The sauce had so much sugar in it that it tasted more like a cake than a pizza. The cheese wasn’t even melted all the way. Very disappointed, I hope this place turns things around. This is the second time I’ve tried this place since I moved to the area. I thought the first time was just a off day. I probably won’t go back to this location. I’m not the only one a little sugar is fine your employees clearly don’t know how to measure the sugar properly. I have recipes for a good pizza sauce if you need help.

New ownership has brought a breath of fresh air to this place. No offense to the old owner, but I was not a fan of his recipes. However, the new pizza recipes are delicious. I had a Chipotle Chicken slice and a Ricotta and Penne slice. Wow, they were delicious! And the portion size was amazing!
Sal's, in my opinion, now has some of the best pizza in town and I'm looking forward to my next visit.
EDIT:
In response to the owner: the difference, therefore, may be in the execution. I never tried these particular slices when the old owner had the place, but had ordered pies on a couple of occasions and just felt they fell short of the mark for me. Again, I don't mean any offense whatsoever to the old ownership. In fact, when I had ordered pies before, I don't think they were made by the old owner anyway.
Anyway, Bobby had great execution on the pies and I really enjoyed them.

I have been a customer of Sal’s for almost 40 years and I must say I was more than a skeptical about the buy out and what would happen to the quality of the food and service but I decided to go ahead and order a massive order from the new owner on memorial day weekend and I was not disappointed. It’s was absolutely delicious, the service was outstanding, I even had the opportunity to meet and shake the new owners hand. He not only has kept the tradition of great Italian food but has even raised the bar for quality in what I have always considered one of the best restaurants in Oneonta.

Waited an hour for a large pizza and garlic knots. Store wasn't even busy. When we got back to our place that was 2 blocks away the pizza was already room temp. Won't be coming back.

Use to be good. Now there is never pizza out and last week I went pizza was under cooked and I got garlic knots and they put no garlic on them. I almost choked
