Clean nice kept place. Good fresh food. Had a grilled & sliced short rib the beef galbi. Came with diakon kimchi small salad & rice grilled onion with the beef.
This place has been open since, well, before I would have been willing to try Vietnamese food. Now, this is on my short list of "let's go somewhere different for lunch" places.
The decor is like a cross between a diner and a Chinese restaurant. Clean and well lit, but nothing special. Atmosphere isn't the reason to come here, or a reason to stay away.
The staff is polite and service is prompt. I would appreciate a little more help in the way of offering advice and suggestions, but it may be that I am the only person that needs the help.
Appetizers here are good, and come in small portions that won't ruin your appetite. The pate so is a very interesting meat paistery that I love, and the spring rolls are just what you would expect.
The stir fry dishes are all good - but the best I've ever had, but they are good enough to scratch the itch. The soups and stews, however, are the real reason I go to this place. The pho and the seafood soups are big, well prepared a always satisfying.
This isn't my favorite place in town, buy I've never had a bad meal here. In a competitive market like Omaha, you can't stay open for not than 20 years without good did at reasonable prices. That is what you seek find here.
Eating here was a treat. I went on a suggestion to get their beef pho which I've never had before. It was very tasty and cheap but there was a lingering smoke from the kitchen that was irritating after a few minutes. I would eat here again however I think Thai Kitchen easily beats Saigon.
Good food, weird atmosphere. Pop music, and neon-lights, and Asian décor... I had the lemon-grass shrimp, and all the ingredients were very fresh, I was pleasantly surprised at the size of the shrimp! I did ask for mine extra spicy (I think I said a 7 or 8) and it was super weak.. I saw a beautiful bowl of pho at the next table, and was very envious... next time...
Our favorite Vietnamese. My husband and I choose Saigon Restaurant often for Saturday night dinners. We love the pho, seafood "stew", and calamari. The egg rolls are better than most...quite tasty. The service is outstanding.
This place is excellent and has great food with outstanding quality. They also have great customer service. I would recommend Saigon to everyone.
Excellent. Pork clay pot and pork fried rice are excellent. Everything on the menu we have tried has been worth it. Recommended.
Favorite Vietnamese Restaurant in Omaha. We’ve had lunch at this restaurant a couple of times. The appetizers are excellent. The noodle soups have a rich and luscious broth and the rice dishesare some of the best we’ve tasted. On the down side, there is a definite odor of heating gas or oil. Reminded me of shopping in Seoul, South Korea back in the old days. It’s off-putting but one gets used to it within 15-20 minutes. And the first time I ordered the seafood noodle soup, the broth was lukewarm and the shrimp still cold; the taste was excellent though. It was a cold wintery day and I really wanted some piping hot soup. We mentioned it to the waitress when we paid the bill and she said the next time to let the staff know and they would immediately correct it. The next time we visited, I ordered a different noodle soup and it was piping hot...so delicious. The restaurant is clean and the service attentive and pleasant. The location a bit far for us to drive, but the food is worth it. We’ll be back!
The vegetarian spring rolls are so yummy! The sauce that comes with them is fabulous!
Delicious... My family and I have been to Saigon a handful of times so far, and plan on going back many more. The service is always friendly and the wait for the food isn't long. We have tried a few other Vietmanese restaurants around town, and we have to say Saigon is our favorite. I have yet to try all of the menu items, but I would have to say the shrimp vermicelli is my favorite. It comes with about 8 plump grilled shrimp mixed in with a bowl of noodles. I also really enjoy the rolls they offer as appetizers, the spring rolls and especially the summer rolls are really good.
They are open still. They had a sign saying they were closed that weekend for family reasons
Great food! Grilled pork chop, pork hot pot, curry chicken, pho. All great (especially the pork chop)!!!!!!
If you've never had Pho, have it here. A great bowl of Pho (a delicious bowl of broth with lean beef and noodles) is just the most comforting, satisfying meal you can have on a cold day. The Pho here is wonderful, served with the standard add-ins of lime, basil and bean sprouts. Occasionally, they substitute cilantro for basil and the effect isn't quite the same. The spring rolls are outstanding as well. My only problem with this nice place is it's a little grungy looking and freezing cold during the winter. That said, you might want to get your food to go.
UPDATE 2/6/13: Saigon has redecorated and it appears they've added some insulation. Now there's truly no reason to give this place a try! The vermicelli bowls are also quite good.
Very good food. Wow , I wasn't expecting such good food and the prices were very good too. Had not eaten some of the dishes in the past and the experience was delightful

The real deal. This place is good- 'nuff said.
Fantastic food. Great staff. Nothing beats a warm bowl of Pho on a winter night. Great vietnamese chicken salad. The 5 spice chicken wings are the best wings in town.
This is our FAVORITE!!. My husband and I frequented this place when we lived in the area and it's been consistent EVERY time. The Hot & Sour soup is sooo good, the dishes we've had were always good, I wasn't disappointed with anything I've ordered there.
We always had to order the "Bubble Tea". It's particularly good to enjoy during the summer months, but it's a hit with us when we go there - YUM!! I'm so sorry that they are not near us anymore, so we can't go there much anymore... :(
LOVE LOVE LOVE this place. I love this place so much I eat here about once a week. The wait staff is always friendly, the food is always good. I'm working my way through the menu and have to say I have yet to find a dish I wouldn't order again.
Go To Vietnamese Restaurant. This is my go to Vietnamese restaurant in Omaha. I love their noodle soups. Very flavorful and filling. Egg rolls are also wonderful. Service has always been nice and on most nights can get in/out of there in about 45 minutes.
Pretty good. Definitely some great Vietnamese options available, but I still prefer the flavor and quality of Kim Son.
Why did I wait so long?. I ate here for the first time ever yesterday after having driven by it thousands of times over the past 20 years. Oh, how I regret all that lost time. This place is great! The curry beef was delicious, and the sesame chicken my wife ordered was the best either of us had ever tasted. The little slice of cucumber in the ice water was a nice touch, as well.
Love it!. Simple atmosphere, delightful wait staff,
and wonderfully authentic cuisine!
5 Stars
One of my Favorites!. I have been coming to this restaurant time and time again for years. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I have never had a bad experience at this restaurant. The portions are generous and the prices while not dirt cheap are very reasonable.
I am usually not one to order appetizers but I get the fresh spring rolls every single time I come, they are always fresh and delicious and I can't get enough of the peanut sauce that is served with them. I have tried many of their entrees and find them all to be filling but not heavy. Beef with snowpeas is one of my favorites. The Pho is tasty and comes in a huge portion. My dad orders the warm beef salad every time, and it is consistently delicious.
I would highly recommend this restaurant!
There isn't an item on the menu I don't enjoy. Home-cooked & family owned. Visit often
Soup's on!. One of the few places in Omaha you can enjoy a collection of Vietnamese noodle and thin soups.Various pho and seafood soups highlight the menu. Plenty of other choices as well. The menu features numerous vermicelli and rice dishes. The Vietnamese pork chop dinner is great. Grilled pork, rice, a fried egg, and fish sauce really work together. Good appetizers. The won-tons are wonderful. A shrimp/pork mix that is unlike anything else around town. The summer roll with pork and pork skin is very tasty. Also, the orange juice is amazing. They juice it to order, and it's actually worth the money. Throw in good prices (almost every entree is under $10) and a friendly waitstaff, and you have a very nice restaurant.
One last thing; a thin slice of cucumber in the drinking water is actually quite refreshing.
we recently tried this Vietnamese restaurant, and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. The food was not only delicious but also served with impeccable service. One of the highlights was the extensive vegetarian menu, and I was thrilled to find such diverse options.
The Tofu dishes, in particular, were a standout. The Tofu was perfectly cooked, resulting in a delightful crispy texture that added a wonderful contrast to the flavors. The taste of the dishes was incredibly balanced, with just the right blend of savory, sweet, and spicy elements that Vietnamese cuisine is known for.
What truly set this restaurant apart, though, was the excellent service. The staff were attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu, making dining here a pleasure. The restaurant's cleanliness also left a lasting impression, ensuring a hygienic and comfortable atmosphere
Second time here and glad I waited for the review. First time, I accidentally ordered the hot pot trying to order the pork clay pot. Hot pot is not my thing but I have it a go and was not a fan. This time I came back and ordered the pork clay pot. I’m a believer now.
If you get a chance and love something a little sweet but super savory and flavorful, go for the pork clay pot. Got it with the grilled pork spring roll and Pate So for appetizers, and now have some go to items for here.
I would highly recommend it. The aroma and flavors abound in this restaurant. Can’t wait to come back and try the bbq pork chop and some of the vermicelli bowls here. If you’re in the area, give it a try.
It was a fantastic experience! I love their beef pho and bubble tea and even the calamari. the waitress was attentive and sweet. Will definitely go back
Delicious Delicious Delicious Cassiah was our server and she was so amazing! Fantastic charisma. And very attentive..
My favorite here was the beef stew. The broth was very flavorful.
Everything we ordered was very good.
The fried fish was excellent.
The pad Thai was a 4 star for me but my friend thought it was a 5.
That have a large parking lot with plenty of parking
They feature Vietnam and Chinese food with a hint of Thai influence. The service was very good. The waiters pleasant and very attentive. I don't understand the other reviewers complaining about service problems. I thought the service was five stars on my visit. My guest and I ordered beef curry and Ginger Beef respectively. We also had the fresh spring rolls for an appetizer. Both of the beef dishes were tasty. They had a lot of vegetables and each dish with unique flavors though both were a bit too salty. The beef was the same low grade beef which cheap Chinese places use. The spring rolls were quite fresh they use clear rice paper and stuff them with rice, bean sprouts and shrimp. I thought these lacked flavor I wish they would have put tarragon or cilantro or other mild sweet herbs to give these spring rolls some flavor. The brown sauce that they serve with these rolls was tasty but again just too much salt. The prices are reasonable when compared to Chinese restaurants. I didn't think it was an especially excellent bargain as the food quality is not a five star rating but it is quite good. I am giving this place 5 stars! The waitress was courteous and explained things perfectly when I had questions! I had the Lemongrass beef vermicelli! Crunchy, savory, filling, and very flavourful! I'm excited to come back and try other dishes! If anybody has recommendations please let me know!
Delicious food and wonderful service. The best place to go now that Saigon Surface closed. Fairly priced, food is always hot, lots of vegan options, and great service! This is some of the most delicious and flavorful Vietnamese food that I've ever had! Cassarra was a very good sever and provided amazing support-- she may also be the most beautiful person I've ever met in my entire life. Good atmosphere and drink selection too!
Best Pho in town hands down. Their combination beef pho warms my soul and it’s so delicious. We also always get a pork banh mi which is good and the fresh spring rolls. Their peanut sauce they serve with the spring rolls is perfection. We get the same thing for take out every time because it’s so good. We’ve had their clay pots in house in the past as well and they were always delicious. I could get take out from here at least once a week and still love it every time.
The pork clay pot is absolutely fire. The chill music and clean area make this a personal favorite. Highly recommend
