Review Avoli Osteria - Omaha

Andrés Di Bernardo
If you are looking for a chic restaurant for a special evening, Avoli Osteria is worth the hype. The atmosphere was fitting for a romantic night out. Despite being pretty busy, we didn't find it to be overwhelming. The aura of the place was warm, cozy, and peaceful. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable about every detail of our meal. The food was phenomenal! We had bruschetta, risotto, and one of the specials that I've sadly forgotten the name of lol. Overall, this was a great experience.

We took a road trip from California to Chicago and this was the highlight meal between. The Bolognese was something that I'm sure I will talk about for a long time. It was that good. There were no complaints with the food. Everything ordered was eaten with a smile.

Excellent service. Nice wine list. Butternut squash soup, best ever. Caesar salad light and tangy dressed. Pasta made in house and sauced with smoked eggplant and chicken, very good. Don't forget dessert. The cinnamon ice cream was delicious.

My wife and I went here on our date night last week and it was all around a great experience. I had the squid ink pasta with shrimp, calamari and a giant cheese ball on top. The sauce they used was incredible as well. Also tried the octopus leg appetizer and that was extremely good as well. The server was very good at explaining what each dish was and got us our food exactly how we ordered it. The only down side is that it is a little pricey for how much food they serve you but the quality was definitely worth it! We will be returning in the future!

First visit. Overall a good dining experience. Professional service helped enhance a meal that had a few problems. They are currently doing indoor and outdoor dining. Tables are spaced appropriately. Everyone was wearing masks. Seafood antipasto 21 dollars 5 star The scallops were perfectly cooked. Some of the shrimp were a bit over, but to me the scallop is the thing to remember. The sauce was perfectly balanced for me. A great starter. Burrata 16 dollars 4.5 stars Solid burrata salad. Everything combined well. Everything was fresh. Vegetarian slice 11 dollars 4.5 star Really enjoyed the pesto sauce on this pizza. My companion loved the large chunks of garlic. The salad, albeit a simple red wine vinegar, was easy to eat Carbonara 17 dollars 3 stars The sauce was not creamy enough. The pasta was dry. My companion felt it was overly salted. For myself, the flavor wasn't where I hoped it would be, and after 2 bites I didn't consume any more. We spoke to our server about it after the meal. He told us next time to let him know right away so that he could fix the issue immediately. Bistecca 49 dollars 3.5-4 stars Overly salty. Everything on the plate was salted a bit too much. The chef did a good job on cooking the steak. Might be something nice for a steak lover (I'd ask to go easier on the salt) but not a top pick for myself here. Things to note: when you order the gelato trio you will only get one choice of ice cream. We were told that it was because there were mix ups... when the servers would deliver the flavors sometimes they would get it wrong. I was surprised that the servers would get it wrong so often that it would stop them from offering multiple flavors. Budino 7 dollars 4 stars If you are into something very sweet this might be a 5 star for you. The flavor was good. They do have a parking lot with some parking, but they expanded their patio to accommodate more space so some spots are no longer there. It does make for a safer dining experience. Overall I worked like to try more of their menu. I was told this was the place to go for pasta so I might try to figure out which is the best on my next visit

Excellent upscale dining experience all-around! We ate outside and had excellent service. My husband loved his steak, and I love the red pepper garganelli. It was a deliciously unique combination of flavors. We’ll be back❤️

Avoli was very high quality Italian cuisine. Most entrees are about $20-25, so it is not that expensive. The Penne Vodka was better than the Potato Gnocci in my opinion. The chocolate cake and Gelato was very rich and is enough to be split by two people. The bruschetta was very tasty but was not worth $14. Overall, the restaurant is a candle lit, romantic setting that is very pleasant for dates.

The service was good and the food was good. I wasn't overly impressed with anything, but the food was all decent and the atmosphere was relaxing. The flour-less chocolate cake was pretty tasty and the tiramisu was decent also. It would have been nicer had I received the coffee I ordered and had our water been filled regularly.

This restaurant is the best place in Omaha. Delicious food (my 90 year old mamma was impressed!) beautiful ambiance and incredible people. Special thanks to Jasmine the manager for the special welcoming of our family and creating the perfect space for our gathering. Brian the bartender for amazing drinks and wonderful personality and a huge thank you to Erin our server for her attention to detail, patience and incredible handling of our table. The owner is fortunate to have such an amazing staff. Our big Italian family and friends will be dining with you again and again.

Went to Avoli for our anniversary dinner tonight. It was a wonderful choice. When we got there, it wasn't very busy and we were seated immediately. They sat us in the back, all by ourselves near the kitchen. It was very quiet and intimate, just perfect for us. They didn't even know it was our anniversary, so being seated like that was really nice. The decor was cozy and eccletic. The giant wine glass of corks was cool. We started with the salumi board and added honeycomb to it. It was excellent. One of the best we have ever shared. Just like a traditional charcuterie board, it came with 3 types of cheeses, 3 meats and assorted sauces, jams, mustards and such. The pork belly rillete was the best of the 3 meats which were also peppered procuttio and speck. I forgot what 3 cheeses we had. The sweet onion jam was as surprisely enjoyable choice. It was served with toasted foccaia. I regret forgetting to take a picture of it, but we were enjoying it too much. I had the spaghetti and meatballs and added fresh mozzarella to it. The pasta was tender and the meatballs were flavorful and satisfying. There was only about half the amount of pasta that I would normally expect for the dish, but I decided tonight that less was better as it gave me space for my dessert later(which will be an entirely different post) I also got more of the rosemary foccacia bread. It came with olive oil, but no pepper or anything to add to the oil. I really prefer the places that do fresh cracked pepper in the oil with the bread. My husband got the procuttio wrapped salmon that had kale, pecans, roasted potatoes and a puree I am not sure what it was. He also got the roasted seasonal veggies for a side. It was broccolini, sliced banana peppers, peanuts and a savory sauce. He really enjoyed all of it. We did not have dessert there, but all in all. I would happily go back just for the salumi board.

Hands down The Best French Onion Soup I’ve ever had! But note, their Italian Onion Gratinato (that’s what they call it) is not always on the menu so call ahead. I also had their Penne Alla Vodka w/chicken and it was also exquisite. Beyond their amazing food, the ambiance is perfect for date nights or special occasions. Love the intimate low lighting with rich wood seating. If you’re looking for a great Italian restaurant with delicious food, beautiful ambiance, and an attentive staff, look no further than Avoli Osteria!

Very good wine, bread, and chicken! Our other meal was a bit salty for our taste. Exceptional service! We will be back to try some different options!

Very very good. Amazing Negroni cocktail. Montepulciano wine, Nice local beer. Probably our favorite was Burrrato, served Bruchetta style, exquisite! Bolognese Bianco a surprise, very savory. Risotto with sweet corn and fennel sausage nice. Cacio e Pepe a favorite with black truffles. Penne dish perfectly prepared. Dishes were definitely salty. Unfortunately. Flourless cake more like a fudge, good yet not a cake texture. Waitress very friendly. Dinner felt rushed though with drink orders and dessert offered during entrees. Beautiful space. Nice outside tables, inside tables too! Love the Dundee area.

Had a hard time picking what to order because everything looked good. Food and dessert was amazing. This is a top-tier restaurant.

My friend recommended I get the gnocchi here. Boy, was she right! The gnocchi was fantastic and so was the overall atmosphere of the restaurant. We had a great dinner and a fantastic appetizer. Would recommend to anyone!

Company and I swooped in at kitchen close to the kitchen reaction of ...red carpet, despite our glaring error of late arrival. Grace was surgical and Bryan, bar curator, was key grip, gaffer, props master and everything else backstage as well as one to bow before the draw of the curtain. Squid ink pasta was one of the few non-dairy options but fortune of predicament birthed a plate of envy. Butter Lettuce was on point, company said Bruschetta was great. We’ll be back soon but maybe not T’amaro Big kiss little kiss
