Review Jackson's Old Chatham House - Old Chatham

Colonial feel, complete with roaring hearts in at least two places. Antique curios adorn the walls. Friendly, efficient waitstaff. The bathrooms are well maintained and identified as ‘Pointers’ and ‘Setters,’ so chose accordingly. Inner dining room very spacious with cubicled divider if two separate parties need to share the space. Parking somewhat limited to ten cars. Full bar in front serving stiff drinks. On October 9th, 2020 the Columbia County Libertarian Committee hosted Larry Sharpe at this location.

Very nice atmosphere. We had the chicken cordon bleu with fresh vegetables and mashed potatoes and the prime rib dinner. The portions were generous and well seasoned. Each came with your choice of soup or salad. The soup, beef barley, was very good. They have a good selection of local beers and a pumpkin martini that is to die for. The staff are very attentive.

Was pleasantly surprised. The french onion soup was delicious as was my hot open turkey. My wife truly enjoyed her 20 oz prime rib as well. My dear old mother in law got the scrod fish and salad .. stated the dressing was a tad bitter.. 4.8 but I do not know how to do the star thing. The place is warm and the staff accommodating.

Had got there at 5:30 got seated right away, took 10 min. For waitress to take our order, she seemed new and unexperienced. We ordered a steak and seafood pasta we asked for the steak to be cooked medium we sat there for at least another half an hour to 40 minutes then after complaining to another member of staff we got our salad and bowl of soup which was delicious salad also good we had to complain once again after waiting to get our entries. steak come out finally very well done next to Burnt the seafood pasta was flavorless hardly any sauce on pasta seafood was okay but you could tell the plate headset for a while being everything was stiff on the plate we also ordered a to go steak dinner for my daughter also medium when we brought it home to her the steak was again well done I do not suggest going to this restaurant it was a very bad experience even though they did take one of the state dinners off for being overcooked I did not expect that, I would have rather had the steak to be done right the first time. I do not see us going there in the future bad experience they need to hire a cook that knows how to cook a steak and add flavor to their marinara sauce on an expensive dish.

Classic old pub. Food was excellent, with portions to feed an elephant.

I was looking forward to dinner at this local spot, but was disappointed. The service was very slow. We waited 15 minutes before getting menus. (The hostess told us they were out of menus.) I figured she meant single use menus, but we were given regular ones. It took another 20 minutes to get our drinks, after initially being given the summer drinks menu, and having to ask twice for a glass of soda. It was well over an hour after we sat down before we got our food. The pork osso bucco had good flavor but was not very tender. The salmon entree was under cooked and had to be sent back. Our waitress took it off the check and offered something else. Other folks seemed to be getting their food much faster and most reviews are positive, so I don't think my experience was typical.
