Definitely will return. Not much to look at on the outside but makes up for it in food. Everything was great! Had the Chicken Super Grande Burrito with red and green sauce. Huge and delicious. Husband isn't a fan of rice at any Mexican establishment but was impressed with their rice and beans. Service was great and attentive.

I love this place!! It seems to be an undiscovered jewel because it is never crowded like the one in Warr Acres. Everything has been delicious, never a bad meal. Friendly service.

Good food. Abel's #2 is about as good as the original, ordered a Al Pastor Torta and it was tasty. Good service and good horchata.

Excellent. This restaurant further shores up my belief that really great food can be had from the most unassuming places. For example, you could got to a chain Mexican place and get a good meal or you could go to Abel's Mexican Restaurant and get a great meal.

Last night I saw the review here on Urbanspoon as I needed a place to go eat. I showed it my wife who agreed that we should give it a try. I am so glad we did.

The place is unassuming and sits in an old BBQ place just north of the I-240 and S. May Ave intersection. We went in and were promptly greeted and seated. I will admit I was a bit worried because we were the only people in the restaurant at the time. That changed.

For the setup the salsa was good and the queso wasn't bad but what really got me was the relish. You know the stuff I'm talking about? It's carrots and onions and jalapenos all mixed and pickled together? Well whatever kind they're were using had cloves in it and really gave it a unique flavor. I really enjoyed it.

Then there was the menu. It had a wide variety of food. As another reviewer said, if you want Tex-Mex, it's there. If you want something more south of the border, well that's there as well. I ended up with the Costillas de Puerco, my wife got the street tacos and our friend got the enchiladas. I have to say, the portions were huge. However, unlike a lot of places that try to equate portion size with quality, this was both large and good.

The service was good as well. As I mentioned, we were the only customers around when we first got in but that changed as our dinner went on. And even with the influx of new customers the service didn't change one bit.

In closing, I wouldn't think twice about coming back to Abel's. I loved the food, I loved the relaxed atmosphere and I loved the service. It was just an all around excellent place.

Taco Party!. Your friends and family will be so impressed when you bring home tacos and all the fixings from Abels. Chicken, beef, and pork tacos accompanied by chips, queso, three different salsas, radishes, lime, and relish makes a great spread for a party at home. Everybody can decide which taco is their favorite. I used to think that the asada (beef) were the best tacos, but now I have decided that the pastor (pork) are number one. They I have a hint of pineapple in the flavor. Add a squeeze of lime and they are absolutely delicious with no sauce at all. Add your own margaritas and Mexican beer and it is a truly great party!

Very good. My dad had been raving about this place forever, so we decided to try it. I Ordered the 2 tacos, one al [astor, and the other carne asada. My hubby ordered 3 tacos, all with roasted lamb, which is only available on Saturday and Sunday. We also ordered a torta al pastor to share, but we had to take it home because we were way too stuffed to even attempt it. The tacos are served in a traditional style, double corn tortillas, onions, and cilantro. There was lots of flavor in both of my meat choices, and my husband was in love with the first bite of the lamb. The tacos are very deceiving. The look small, but they are so filling. The chips, queso and salsa are very good. We will definitely be back for more.

Surprisingly Good. I was very excited to see a new Mexican food place a little closer to home. The building is clean and the atmosphere is welcoming, with a TV in the corner playing old black & white movies. In the front they have a bar set up with salsa, pickled carrots, limes, and other fun stuff.

I ordered simple fare, tacos and a tamale. The tacos were great, just what I'd expect from an authentic Mexican place. The tamale was top notch, great texture. The real star was the Salsa Brava. It has an incredible flavor and a heat that's aggressive but not overpowering.

Yep, I'm hooked!! Expecting Tex Mex? They have it! Expecting authentic? They have that too!! Better get here before word gets out. They may just have to start taking reservations soon.

Delicious food. I was here years ago and thought the food was just okay. On a second recommendation, I came back and had the enchilada dinner, and my husband had the steak burrito. We enjoyed our meals as well as our other family members that were with us. The Jamaica drink was the best Jamaica I have had. We will be back

Food was fine and was better than Chelinos in my opinion. It was about what I expected. The staff was working so hard and it was super busy but they were on top of refilling things. It was super hot in there but it was over 100 outside so everywhere is hot 😅

Never been here, thought we try it Being as busy as it was, the service was above exceptional. At least 4 different people checked on us, without being obnoxious about it. Street tacos with steak and grilled onions was really excellent, seemed to be authentic mexican food. Such a polite staff, will be back for sure

Fantastic Mexican food! My family and I are moving to this area and after a late night of looking at houses, we stopped by here for dinner. Talk about a welcoming environment. We walk in and it feels like family. The staff was so friendly and the food was delicious. We found a house and it’s 6 minutes away. We will definitely make this our new spot

The Ramos' plate was really good -- the addition of shrimp to a Carne guisado, plus the added spiciness, was amazing. They have enormous burritos here. The 10 yr old in our group ordered it and was stunned to see it was as big as his head. The botana especial was very good with lots of flavors that blended well. The steak was very tender. The wait staff were helpful and happy to serve our table of 11. Refills of drinks, tortillas and salsas kept appearing! The restaurant is well laid out. The decor is very good/appropriate. Happy.

Pros: (1) Large menu (2) Flavorful food (3) Busy (4) People describe it as an authentic Mexican restaurant Cons: (1) Can be busy (2) Red salsa is the normal poor-flavored Oklahoma salsa

Definitely recommend. Plenty of choices and large portions so come hungry. Staff is also great. Second visit. Fajita nachos are OK but not a fan. It's chunks of meat not strips and a bit on the tuff side.

Came in here last week and ordered beef nachos and enchiladas verdes, both dishes were full of flavor and also came with complimentary chips, salsa and queso. The salsa was incredibly flavorful and reminds me of my best friends mother's recipe and the queso was also delicious with complex flavor. Will definitely be back, absolutely delicious.

Been here several times. Always a full and busy restaurant, but never a wait to be seated unless it’s a fairly large group. I would definitely recommend the Peach Margarita! So sweet and delicious!
