Eischen's Bar

We stopped in for the first time and the chicken is amazing! I see why they are so popular! My husband and I split a chicken and got the okra and loved it. I will say that next time we will get one chicken each so that we have left overs! The atmosphere is unique and you can see the history. The service on the day we were there was okay, the lady that helped us was not very friendly to us, but seemed to like another group that was there, so maybe she was having an off day? We will definitely go back and take a chicken home for later!

Such a unique place with great Oklahoma history. The oldest bar in the state of Oklahoma before Oklahoma was even a state! Try to have a table in the original part of the bar/restaurant. Because you can read all the history articles on the wall and see the backsplash that is the only remaining part of the original bar because of the place burning down in 1993. Some great pictures in history there. Because of covid-19 new may want to call ahead of time and make sure they're open or what their hours are now. Sometimes they are only doing curbside service (at least the way I understand it). Enjoy hovering over someone that is about to leave so you can have their table, (part of the uniqueness of this place). Also you eat on butcher paper and if you ask for any utensils it will be a plastic fork and knife. Very little cleanup for the crew that way. And they keep their cost down. Don't ask for one, two, or three pieces of chicken. They'll say... "No, you order a bird. How many birds do you want?" You'll get the whole chicken. It's the best fried chicken you'll ever have, (in my humble opinion).

Who doesn’t love Eischen’s?! The must stop for anyone passing through, a family dinner out or even layback date night!! The food never disappoints! Of course the chicken and okra are delicious, but you always have to start off with a chili cheese nacho and pitcher of beer! Be sure and call ahead for your chicken, then you’ll have a hot bird waiting for you! The staff is amazing, always overly accommodating and so much fun!
