We're in Ogunquit for vacation and had a sick toddler for a few days, so takeout was key. We happened upon So Zap in our searches and from start to finish it was extremely convenient and awesomely delicious!!! For starters, they offer online ordering on their website which is insanely convenient with an estimated time for when your order will be ready. (ours was about 5-10 mins over, which is understandable given how busy they were!) When we went to pick it up, this place was fairly large compared to your typical Thai place and very happening! We ordered the Crab Rangoon which had a nice crunch to it and was so insanely good with the fresh crab you can get around here. Next up was the Golden Bags which was absolutely delightful. The main course was Duck Tamarind which had an extremely succulent inside with a nice crunchy outside layered with the delicious tamarind sauce. The Panang Curry was awesome and really hit the spot. I highly recommend their homemade ginger beer, it has an awesome kick and was so refreshing! Don't sleep on this place whether you're looking for dine in or takeout, it's better than any other Thai place we've been!

Billed as Urban Thai so don't expect typical Thai fare. The chef who created the menu however, excelled. The sauces are fresh and a tasty new twist on the original, giving ordinary dishes interest. Not spicy. At all. Will have to ask for some heat if you're inclined. Dishes are a little bit on the sweet side, but still oh so yummy! Not crowded. Pricey but fair. Open only for dinner.

If you like Thai food or even just need a great local sit down cocktail, So Zap does not disappoint. Literally every appetizer is delicious, as are all of their cocktails. Pictured are the Bangkok Cooler and Zap Mai Tai. Their Pad Thai is a go-to for me, and among the incredible appetizer menu, the Fried Chive Dumplings stand out as the best, for me. The Black Sesame ice cream (also pictured) is also fantastic. (Too bad I was so eager to eat the entrees I forgot to take pictures! Definitely make a stop here!

Very tasty Thai foods. The sauces and favours are just perfect. Although we read the good reviews on Google beforehand, this is actually beyond our expectation! Definitely recommended!

Tried this great Thai restaurant this summer in downtown Ogunquit. Nice change of pace if you already had your fill of the local lobster restaurants. We sampled the dumplings, golden bags, and crab rangoons made with fresh crab meat: all very tasty. I also enjoyed one of the best Pad Thai dishes I've ever had. Definitely recommend if you want to try something different in Maine.

What a gem in Ogunquit. In a town full of seafood and lobster competing to be the best, SoZap is unique, unassuming and refreshing. I’m comfortable saying this is my favorite restaurant in town, yes a Thai restaurant in the lobster capital. The Golden Bags are fun and pack a punch, the Pad Thai can easily compete with the best dishes just north in Portland. The prices are very reasonable and getting a table outside while watching the foot and car traffic coming and going to town is enjoyable.

Very true to Thai form. Food was seasoned expertly. Only small complaint drunken noodles sub par. Expect better chop sticks at place like this

I always crave Pad Thai when I'm on vacation so we spontaneously decided to eat here on our one night in town. I'm so glad we did! We sat in the front outdoor seating which was very nice, and we enjoyed just people watching and taking in the busy town center. My husband and I both got the Pad Thai and it was so good! Really great flavor and the portions were great, we each had a bit of leftovers for later. I got mine without any spice because I didn't realize there was a spice level you could ask for. My husband got it with a spice level 3 I think it was and his was better than mine. Without any spice the sauce is a bit too sweet for my liking, good until you get close to halfway full and then the sweetness is a bit much. His was really really good and I would definitely recommend getting it at least a little spicy. I would definitely go back here and get the Pad Thai again.
