Review The Brown Box Eatery - Odenton

Came here to try some donuts that my friends were raving about. Ordered 4 donuts and got them nice and fresh and made to order. Prolly the best homemade donuts ever. Although the crowd and establishment was a little hipster I enjoyed the donuts and staff. Definitely coming back.

Easily my favourite breakfast joint in town. Their donuts and waffles taste freshly made and the breakfast foods/meat are to match. Open early so I can bring co-workers or even get fresh donuts for the crew before I head into the office. Convenience is huge too, with the times being early, and that's going to win every time in my mind. Been here quite a few times and I haven't once left unsatisfied with my order. Give this place a shot, they'll treat you with friendly staff and a smile.

I came in for a late breakfast on a Saturday morning and found the place to be really clean and inviting, the staff friendly, and the menu to have sufficient variety. Round it out with good food and it got the highest rating from me. N.B., apparently they're all about donuts, which I did not try, but look forward to. Update - 9/23/18 I've just dropped my 5-star rating to 4 because, though the food is still good (I've had the donuts… do it), the staff are just as nice, and the place is still inviting, apparently my first time around it wasn't busy. I've gone a few times since then and when it's busy it's really easy to notice how understaffed they are. Orders come out slowly and if you order donuts along with regular breakfast they'll likely come out at different times (20 minutes passed between me getting my donut and getting an omelette once). Once I even got the wrong order. I wish it was better managed.

Not bad but no Military discount and they are close to a Base so that’s strange. But the donut was the best thing here ! Don’t get the fried steak , the house frys were over cooked.

Don't waste your time. I had high hopes for this place but it was the biggest disappointment ever. As you can see, the place wasn't even busy when we were there but we waited over 40 MINUTES for some freaking eggs and bacon. This wasn't just us, it took that long for everyone there. The place is self- service (you get your own drinks, utensils, etc) and all the flatware is disposable so they didn't have to worry about waiting tables or washing dishes. There were at least five people in the back so I have no idea why it took so long. When we actually DID get our food, the eggs were just plain (no salt, pepper or flavor) and made like a pancake. The bacon was just meh. I could have done a better job just cooking at home which is saying something because I'm not a good cook. The only saving grace of this place were the donuts which were pretty good and came out fairly quick. I would have just left after 20 minutes of waiting but we had already paid for everything. 😒

Delicious, hot, and fresh doughnuts made to order means this isn't your typical coffee shop. The dougnuts may be on the small side but they punch well above their weight class. The Brown Box Eatery also serves breakfast and lunch with a relatively limited menu.

Really good French toast, donuts were really good even though we don't like cake donuts. Homemade chips were great too. Good quality good food for really reasonable prices. I just hope they switch to real plates soon.

The Donuts are Fantastic! The owners are super friendly and always fess up to their mistakes. While they have made mistakes on two of my four visits, it resulted in extra donuts free of charge. We recommend the omelletes and coffee. On our last visit we saw a group of 8 men all eating the chicken fried steak, so i will probably try that next time. Did i mention the donuts are good?

This past Sunday I figured we would give this place a try. Big mistake! Ordered two pancakes, a side of bacon, and two egg home fries and one meat meals. Ordered at 11:28am was told 15min. Come back 15min later and was told it was coming just finishing. Well, since I didn't leave the store until 12:05pm I was able to observe your kitchen staff. This is why I will never go back! 1) no gloves 2) the food sat so long for some since I could see that the use of your microwave to reheat everything was nauseating. 3)your gentleman that ran the stove (cook/chef) no gloves and watched him multiple times eat food straight from the grill while cooking other people's food (again no gloves) so hand to mouth multiple times than touching my food. 4) They microwaved my food to get it warm again since it was ready but they couldn't "find" the ticket completely unorganized kitchen staff. So I spent 24$ for microwave crap! I love local restaurants and supporting them but this will not be getting anymore support from my family and friends.

Logan and other young staff should never be left alone to represent this business. Unprofessional and rude with no concept of customer service. We used to come here every so often. Mostly because it was different because frankly the food was never impressive.

First visit to The Lunch Box...loved it. Family friendly, reasonably priced, decent food, great atmosphere, 2 minutes from my house. Donut was right out of the fryer. We got naked to get a true taste. Very good, not at all heavy, cake type which is my favorite. Paul had egg sandwich. Real eggs, not the microwave crud. Thick bacon. Tomatoes were a little under ripe & forgot the mayo but definitely not a deal breaker. Me, ham & provolone on marble rye. Bread was great. Needed more cheese but again, definitely not a deal breaker. Coffee was hot & delicious! We will be back!!

Had the pleasure of experiencing what everyone has been talking about on Saturday. The donuts are to die for......I ate 4 donuts and took home 6 more! The breakfast and lunch menu looked delicious, as well as all the food coming out of the kitchen. Planning on lunch next with donuts for dessert! Well worth the trip from Annapolis!

Was great, then service went down the toilet. Long waits, forgot our order, longer wait, started to tell us how you'd fix the issue and then chatted with friends until we left since we couldn't keep waiting with groceries in the car. Reached out by phone to no answer. Commented here and my post was deleted instead of addressed. Classy. A shame really 'cause the food is amazing; but not worth the hassle and headache.

Went there a few times for breakfast I always make the same mistake and order home fries. They're never done completely through and tables are always sticky. It's really the only place I know of in that area to eat other than McDonald's. So I guess we're going to have to venture out of the area for breakfast :(

Great service, good food. I love the maple bacon donuts... I also had the French toast, eggs, and bacon. Very good all around!

My husband and I stopped in for lunch and ended up getting breakfast food (which you can order until 2pm). The head Chef, Tony, was very warm and friendly...we felt like we were in a small town. Food was cooked to order and tasted great...no doubt we'll be back. Oh and they make donuts to order...waiting for ours now.

Very good. Greeted by a friendly staff as soon as we walked through the door. Doughnuts are delicious.

Just had breakfast and it was great! Allot of cheese! Had the breakfast special and the price was just right! Only issue, only received 1 slice of toast, wish it was 2. But overall, had great food and great experience! We will return!

Based on quality of food and value. Well worth the money spent. At first I was iffy on the wait for the egg sandwich. What I got was a scrapple and havarti with an over med egg of sourdough bread. Made fresh so the 5 min wait was understandable. Coffee was good, it had sitting out for awhile but still. Also, they have good espresso. A welcomed addition to the area.

I had a cup of chili and the veggie sandwich....Both were excellent!! I loved the cozy little hometown feel, and that Tony came out, greeted us, made recommendations that were spot on! I'll be back...And I'll try a donut then!!

I love their pancakes, coffee and welcoming chef who customized my order for me exactly as I wanted. This is my new favorite breakfast joint.

Yes!! We have discovered donut nirvana within half an hour of our home! It's at the family-owned and -run Brown Box Eatery in Odenton! Scrumptious, freshly prepared, made-to-order donuts that even this non-donut-eating girl really enjoys! And they have lots of other yummy breakfast and lunch items too! Check them out!
