See UPDATE below this original post. Was looking forward to visiting their Oakton flagship after missing their Tysons Mall restaurant, which we frequented regularly. We both LOVE their fresh sausage. With this sausage in mind, I ordered the lasagne, reading on the menu that it had ground beef and their sausage. I found very little beef and even less sausage! I also found it undersalted, as did my husband (my double-check if i think things are over- or under-salted). I would not order it again. Husband's meat calzone was very good, as we recalled from Tyson's days. Tiramisu was very good, albeit a wee bit on the dry side, and too cold. Their hot rolls that come with dinner are FABULOUS as is the delicious butter. Their salad is uneventful, and their "house dressing" is nothing but oil and vinegar. Mixed review. We'll stick to the pizza and calzone next time. UPDATE: 5 stars! Loved specials and tiramisu. Anything with their house made sausage!
As a New Yorker their pizza is the closest in the area to pizza from home. Also, have the best calzones in the area.
Ordered grilled chicken and Margherita, and they were fresh out of oven delicious pizzas! The crust of the grilled chicken was nice crunchy and the end, Margherita was softer though.
I’ve been a fan for decades. What happened to the pizza? For years the pizza was the closest to NY style in the area, but someone changed the recipe!! It’s bland. It doesn’t even look the same. Please go back to the old recipe! Ugh!!
I visited on a Saturday evening and placed a takeout order which was ready a little ahead of the promised time. My order consisted of a chef salad, sausage and peppers appetizer and side of steak fries, meat ravioli and a side salad, and tiramisu.
The chef salad had a bright and fresh taste with just the right amount of cheese to avoid overindulging. I like their rolls to accompany a salad, and their had a satisfying hard exterior and chewy interior. Luciano makes their own sausage, and the taste definitely connotes fennel as advertised. The peppers remained relatively crisp in the marinara sauce which did not have too much fat from the sausage for my taste. I have had more generous portions of steak fries in the past, and I would like them to fill the basket further if possible. Crispiness was as good as one could hope for surviving a ten minute car ride. The meat ravioli was just as satisfying as the side salad was forgettable and unsatisfying. I would suggest offering a mini chef salad instead and charging accordingly instead of putting a rather paltry version of a salad next to hearty ravioli or other pasta dishes. The tiramisu had a strong coffee flavor and delicious marscapone cheese. This version comes in the form of a slice rather than a square and has the ladyfingers on the side of the cake rather than layered on the interior. Still the overall flavor was predictably on point.
The bill totalled just under $60 before tax and tip. I like the option to give food to a community food bank in increments of $10 extra. Staff service struck me as cordial and efficient especially for a Saturday evening. Even though there may be places with more refined Italian food in the area, I could easily return to sample more red sauce fare from a small business with local history and ties conveniently located where I live.
Passing through and wanted to grab a bite so I found this place. Friendly service, and beautiful decor. I love how there are many oxygen-promoting plants in the restaurant. But most importantly, amazing Pizza. Wow.
We are originally from NY and are very picky about pizza. The pizza at Luciano’s was the best we have ever had - including from NY. Homemade dough, with perfect consistency, excellent seasoning and sauce, The other food was delicious, too - homemade meat ravioli, gnocchi special with sun dried tomatoes, eggplant parm, and fettuccini a la Erma. The wait staff was excellent - very attentive and helpful. The kids enjoyed tartufo for dessert. We all loved the food!
Love the fresh, exotic, and tasty foods at Luciano! My latest favorites have been dining with friends on the 24" eggplant pizza! I eat here pretty much every week and love the hospitality and the creativity. Love that they make everything in their kitchen and many ingredients imported from Sicily. So fresh and yummy!
Luciano's is a surprisingly lovely place. We made a reservation for Father's Day and had a spacious round table in the front room which is bright with natural light. Service was attentive. The menu is several pages with appetizers, salads, pasta, sandwiches, entrees, desserts and several features. Portions are generous.
Being in a strip mall the entrance is easily accessible. We will be back 😁
This my first time at Luciano’s and it was such a great experience. From the friendly and inviting atmosphere to the amazing staff I could not have asked for a better experience. I personally recommend the lobster ravioli, this was the best Italian dish I have had! I will definitely be coming back.
I've been coming to Lucianos since I could form memories, it was my family's Friday night spot. So happy they are still amazing! Food is good with great specials, and service is fantastic. Salvador was attentive and gave us the perfect amount of hospitality. It's our favorite spot to go with family or friends when we are in town. Also I love the mural in the back but it's part of my childhood so I am biased!
Very nice dinner. Love the decor and atmosphere. Attentive service and good food, as usual!
