Review Jalisco Restaurant - Oakland

The carnitas was horrible tasting. Since I know how to cook I had to put the proper seasonings in it and fry it the proper way. Is way overpriced. I can't believe that restaurant takes advantage of what should have been, authentic Mexican food, carnitas.

This one is really tough to write for different reasons. For one, I have been coming here for like 17 years because there is no better spot for carnitas that I'm am aware of. Not all of us have the same tastes but if you say these carnitas are nasty there is something wrong with you LOL. Why the 1 star? The owner is very rude to customers but he treats his workers even worse. He once told the ladies in the kitchen they were wasting their time and to get to work because they were out of beans. They were actually working very fast. And to be honest he said in a much worse way that I can't write about here. When he asks if you want rice and beans to go with your order and you say no, he turns away and looks clearly bothered. The guy behind the counter is just as rude. And I'm not the only one to comment that everyone looks like they couldn't get you out the door fast enough. I appreciate the speed of service, but when it is not met with a single smile, or thank you, or even an eye to eye, you feel like you're a bother. You can't go everywhere and expect to get treated like royalty but a bit of kindness and friendliness can go a long way. I don't think I am wrong in saying that half of the experience of a restaurant comes from the service. As far as that goes, it's hard to get worse than this. Have I had bad experiences in other places? Sure. Worse than this on an every visit basis? Not that I remember. I guess you can act and treat everyone as you want when you know you're the best around.

It's kind of expensive 3 burrito $55 and the only use cash. I feel with the robberies it would be safer to have a credit card

Amazing carnitas, just be sure to call ahead to find out if they haven't sold out... Update 09/19/2021 Still serving great carnitas, only stipulation is there is a line outside. No indoor dining at this time. If you call ahead, order can be picked up sooner.

Looks like a hole in the wall and it kind of is but my kids love the food here. I am currently vegan so I can't eat from here but the food is good. Go early if you love the fatty part of the meat! I guess they are known for that and people do go early. A little pricy but authentic style food.

Very poor attention, carnitas very salty, and very expensive, I don't go back again,I was expecting more, some body tellme was good carnitas, no way Jose.
